Summary: Good premise, poor execution
Review: I really liked the premise of this game. I am not a videogame afficionado, I have only played a "Monkey Island" game before this, so admittedly I don't have a lot to compare it to. I like logic puzzles and good stories. This game had lots of puzzles, some of which weren't too logical, but I could overlook that with some online help. The scenery was great! Unfortunately that wasn't enough to make me overlook the very unexpected letdown of an ending and the wimpy female characterization, as well as the trite script and uneven emotional tone in the conversations. I was really expecting a lot from this game based on the synopsis, and the game delivered in scenery, but fell a little short in characterization and storyline.

Summary: Great graphics, easy puzzles and audio problems on laptops!!
Review: The game is very easy, except for a couple of puzzles that required more attention to details (the mammoth drawing) or would have never occured to you (how to get to Helena Romanski, for gods sake!!! -this is really a good one). The graphics are awesome and very realistic and add to the overall experience.

However, the game never really gets to deliver as promised by all the reviews given by experts and users, and I was somewhat dissapointed. Nevertheless, the price is quite competitive and makes the game good value for money.

Beware, though, that there appears to be a major problem running the game on laptops (or is it the Windows XP Op Sys???) I tried to run it on an HP Pavillion 4315us -AMD Athlon 1.53 GHz- and the voices overlaped making conversations inaudible.

My recommendation: Buy it, but don't expect an addictive masterpiece.

Summary: My favorite game!
Review: When I first played the demo I was awestruck by the gorgeous graphics and sound. I bought the full version and could hardly break away from it! You'll grow attached to the characters (you gotta love Oscar!) and will miss them and their lives when the game ends. The story is interesting from start to finish, and hits all the planes of emotion, from love to fear, sadness to laughter. The movement is easy (point and click, running option), and it's not overly complicated, which makes for very enjoyable and relaxing gaming experience and leaves you more brain space to get into the story. Syberia stays with you long after you've finished. I can't wait for a sequel and will buy it the first day it's released.

Summary: 14 Days of Adventure
Review: Just finished this game. It took me a couple of weeks of everyday playing to finish it. Once I figured out most of the solutions to the hard puzzles were in the same area, it helped to solve the tougher ones, other times I had to use the book to figure them out and would not have been able to find the solutions without the guide. The storyline was very good and I loved the ending. The music and settings were beautiful. It was definitely entertaining. Very enjoyable to play. Hints: I missed the book in the library about mushrooms so I couldn't pick up the elixir. Preparing the drink at the bar was impossible without the solution.

Summary: Challenging Enough
Review: It's been years since I've played anything. I bought Riven but my new computer won't play it. I also bought the Longest Journey and ended up with lots of Bugs! This game runs great on XP. The scenes, music and voices are very well done. Most of the game play is relatively easy and the puzzles are mostly no-brainers but I'm totally stuck at the moment and had to send for the solutions book, so I guess it's not that easy afterall. I love the story-line. It has me curious every step of the way and I'm dying to solve the mystery. Have fun with it! I am! Any other great adventure recommendations would be welcomed.

Summary: Great Graphics, Good Story Line, Adventuring as it should be
Review: Syberia is one of the most enjoyable adventure games I have ever played. Its graphics are superb and the interface is easy to manipulate. The program is a memory hog though so make sure you have enough system resources to let it run properly.
My main gripe is the speed at which the main character moves...even when she is supposed to be running, it is often painstakingly slow. There is also a bit too much of solving a portion of a puzzle in one location, moving on, only to have to return 2-3 times more to completely solve it. There are also some characters in the story that are way too long winded in cut scenes designed to give clues. I would recommend having a "walk-through" on hand in case you get stuck. There were some puzzles in the games that were not very obvious (despite what another reviewer says) and many things one would never even think of doing that are required to move to the next level.
Highly Recommended despite these few short comings.

Summary: Syberia 1
Review: Incredibly nice game. The graphics are astounding and the music accompanying each moment of the game is delightful. The plot is quite interesting and it's unveiled progressively by interaction with other characters, diaries, flyers, faxes, phone conversations, ect. The game overall involves the player in an active, constructive way by presenting here and there nice and relatively easy riddles/puzzles to solve. A game worth having!

Summary: Timeless Masterpiece
Review: The story and graphics are amazing in the point & click adventure. You will fall in love with the French village that Kate Walker has found herself in.

Summary: A Little Disappointing for Me
Review: I have enjoyed adventure games in the past, in particular Lucas Arts titles like Grim Fandango and the Monkey Island series. The positive on this game is that it is beautifully illustrated. But the puzzles and rather simpleminded. The story line is fairly interesting, but it also seems to be striving to present some political correctness. Your character is young women who is an attorney. I think the creators are trying to make you think of your character as becoming more independent as the story goes along, but this is done mostly through conversations you have on your cell phone with your Mom and your boyfriend, neither of whom do you actually meet in the game. Also I expect more from the music of such an artistic game. Having said all that, I probably will buy the sequel that is planned.
