Summary: This game is SWEEET
Review: I am too cool for ten cats and so is this game. Everyone should play it. Even though amazon.com has not sent the game to me yet, it's still gonnna be awesome. Definately with opposing force included everyone should buy this game. ....

Summary: Sierra should of looked to Neil Manke(they hunger)for ideas
Review: Blue shift had me very excited, and I couldn't wait to see how they could of made a part 3 any better than opposing force. But I was very disappointed, the game took me about 6 hours to defeat. And there was really nothing exciting at all about it. Even the hazard training course was the same. No new story lines or videos. If it were possible I would of rather had paid my money to Neil Manke, the maker of They Hunger. Blue shift would have made a much better free download expansion. At least they offer a rebate for my old op4 disc, and the new high definition is a good upgrade. I suppose part 4 will be Half-Life Black ops, hopefully with some more story and more game time.

Summary: Great but short-lived
Review: This expansion lets you relive the Half-Life story from another perspective, that of security guard Calhoun. The gameplay that is there is really good and the levels are well designed, but there's just not enough. I finished this game after 2 nights of playing not more than 2-3 hours at a time. Overall a great add-on, but this should have at least had the length of OpFor, if not more.

Summary: tooooo bloody short
Review: this game is to bloody short, and hardly eny guns!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: More Half-Life......just not a lot more.............
Review: Half-Life was fun, and it was llloooonnnnggggg. Opposing force was also fun, just not as long. Blue Shift is, you guessed it, fun.....but it only has about 3 hours of game time......3 HOURS!?!?!?! This is a retail product....not a mod. I feel cheated out of my money!

Summary: Great Add-on! Too bad it's so SHORT!
Review: This is a great add-on for one of my all time favorite games. The level design is just as you'd expect from Gearbox. Everthing is top notch. I had a lot of fun playing through this, all of about 1.5 hours! Blue Shift would have deserved a 5 star rating, with so little new material, it is just not worth it. If you don't already have the Opposing Force add-on (which is also included) this may be worth buying, and the high-res pack makes the characters and weapons look cool. For me though, having already purchased Opposing Force, this product is just not satisfying enough. Should've been 3 or 4 times longer. Definately a dissapoinment.

Summary: Too little for too much
Review: Like any other true blue, self respecting Half Life fan, I was overjoyed when I heard that Gearbox software was releasing another expansion to compliment Opposing Force. I counted the days and had a copy the first day it came out. After installing the program (along with the goodies that come with it, notably the hi-definition pack), I told myself that I would ration my play time so as not to finish the game too quickly. When I played Opposing Force I finished it in one day, and I didn't want that to happen with this one. So after two hours I put the game aside and took a little breather. However, starved as I was for some new HL stuff, I jumped back on a few hours later to have some more alien-slaying fun. Sadly, I finished the game half an hour later. That's right, a total of 2.5 hours of playtime for 29.99! I have never been so dissapointed in a game in my life. No new aliens, no cool wierd weapons, and no boss fights at all. Just a couple of the same aliens we've been seeing since the original, along with some marines. It wasn't even really challenging. The only redeeming quality I found in Blue Shift was the HD pack, which enhances all of the previous HL games. I would not reccomend this unless you do not own Opposing Force. Unfortunately, I do and I've wasted good money on what didn't amount to half of what I expected.

Summary: Very Good
Review: This is a must have if you are a HL fan. I loved HL and decided that I must have this a long time ago.

The HD Pack, that everyone is raving about, is nice. However the most that it seems to do is improve some of the charactor and weapon models. Yes, the sound effects and some textures got a face lift as well, but all this still can't escape the fact that it is the HL engine and is three years old and still feels like it.

That aside, the new campain is a blast. I was expecting more of the same as in OpFor, but Blue Shift shows that someone wanted to do more than that. That I ended up in Zen is no surprise, but that the trip was both creative in design and more part of the story impressed me. The campain is a blast and also reveals more about Black Mesa and the story.

Overall this all adds up to a good experence well worth paying for and spending my time.

Summary: What's up???
Review: I saw 12 reviews all dated prior to June 14 when my local best Buy said the game would be available.

How are you people "reviewing" a game which is not yet released?

Or do most of you work for Valve?

PS I had to fill in the star rating field...I have not played this yet either.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The new chapter.
Review: This new chapter in the Half Life games will blow you away. With awesome graffics, realistic aliens and killer weapons this game is the best you could find. One of the cool things is you get to see the scientists and marines that you met in the first and second chapter. You have been the scientists, you have been the marines and now your the police.
