Summary: Good but slow
Review: I bought this game in excitement thinking I could get a 2 in one game for sim city and RTC. Which it does but the game is slow and I just got a pentium III 400 and it shuts down. Other then being slow and shutting down, with the 30 min of game time at a time that i have played its a good descent game

Summary: I thought they could have done better
Review: I cant believe the makers of SimCity 3000 would want to put their name on this piece of software. I have a pretty modern PC (HP Pavilion 380 MHZ, etc. etc.) and even though I toggled the options in their "control panel", I was still faced with choppy game play. It was SLOW! So, I went to the web site and downloaded a "patch" to supposedly fix that problem. Well, this just made things worse. The graphics were now that of an Atari 2600 with a snails pace gameplay! The only 'good' thing about this game, is that you can ride the rides. Even then, you still experience the slow gameplay. I originally thought it was because I didnt have a fancy 3D accelerator card. However, they give you a choice of using one or not. Even after I chose not to use one, the game play was STILL rough (? ).

If you want a fun theme park game, check out Roller Coaster Tycoon from Hasbro. Roller Coaster Tycoon made me realize it wasn't my system that had the problem, it was Sim Theme Park. The system expectations for Sim theme Park seem to be too high today for most systems.

Summary: The Best Game EVER!
Review: This is a real good game compared to Roller Coaster Tycoon. The graphics are awesome! I don't see how you could like RCT better. The 3D part of it is great.

Summary: Buy Roller Coaster Tycoon instead
Review: Ive tried both Roller Coaster Tycoon and STP - Plus I am a great fan of real roller coasters. This game is OK but it just isn't nearly as good as RTC. Very slow and interface is messed up. Graphics are lousy.

Summary: A disappointment.
Review: An avid fan of both SIM products and of RollerCoaster Tycoon, I found this game a disappointment.

I have a new and exceptionally fast machine (Pentium III with 128 MB RAM), and this program, even from the earliest stages of the game, crawled through each step. As importantly, there are too many things getting in the way of good, old-fashioned game play--the ever-present assistant, the kloodgy interface, the low-grade sea-sickedness one gets from the constant 3D view. Whereas I couldn't stop myself from playing RollerCoaster Tycoon for hours on end, I found it easy to uninstall this software after only four hours of game play.

Buyer beware: this game looks and feels NOTHING like RollerCoaster Tycoon. Your best bet, if you really want to try this game, is to wait until the price drops...

Summary: Almost, but not quite good enough
Review: Sim Theme Park is a good game but the Sim games have met their match in this area with Roller Coaster Tycoon. The gameplay, graphics, and every thing else is nowhere as good as Roller Coaster Tycoon.

Summary: Good and Bad but not 'The Best'
Review: SimTheme Park is beautiful to look at, and its ability to let you RIDE your rides (and walk around your park with a camcorder) is cooler than cool, but if you've played Roller Coaster Tycoon (and LOVED it, as everyone who's ever played it does), then you'll be sorely disappointed in this game. Players won't be able to rotate the play area or customize their rides to anywhere NEAR the level of detail Roller Coaster Tycoon employed, and the gameplay, while pretty, is pretty slow; even on GOOD computers with 3D cards.

Summary: Not as good as Roller Coaster Tycoon
Review: This is a good example of how a game company should not use 3D. With the whole game in 3D, it performs rather poorly. I have a Celeron 466 and a TNT2 video card, and scrolling across the screen lags. I think they put too much emphasis on how it looks rather then how it plays. If you want a more realistic and exciting (yet not as pretty) game about theme parks, get Roller Coaster Tycoon.

Summary: Game of the Year!
Review: Spent many a sleepless night playing this game. They *finally* got it right! If you ever thought you could build the best roller coaster and wanted to see what it's like to actually ride it, you gotta get this game. It's so much fun to walk around in "camcorder" mode and check out the park you've built. Plus, getting on a ride and watching all these doe-eyed, chubby-cheeked kids screaming their heads off... too funny! Great, non-violent, non-stop entertainment. Make sure you've got a decent system - at least a P2-300 and a good 3D card as it does start to slow down once the park fills up.

Summary: Very Cool and Easy to use
Review: This is a really fun game that challenges you to think creativly and have fun. Even I, a completly inept computer user can play it and have a lot of fun! It is definatly good for all ages
