Summary: Interesting - I'd buy it again, but no surprises
Review: I think Diablo and Diablo II are two of the all-time best games ever to be made. The expansion is good, but there's not a lot there to get excited about. I'd still buy the game, but only rate it 3 stars. I did have some trouble when I first installed it. You must beat Diablo again to access the new act and the Diablo act would not run at full frame speed although the rest of the game does. This was a very annoying and discouraging first look at the expansion. Does anyone know why the Blizzard programmers wasted time with the online gem activation thing instead of game stability? If you're planning on re-visiting Battlenet with the expansion, you might not bother - it's still very unreliable and you get kicked out of online games routinely.

Summary: DONT BUY THIS GAME YET!!!
Review: Diablo 2 Expansion is a complete rip off. [price] isnt worth it for two new characters & cut scenes, and a short ... ending. Could have been better. It is over priced for just 1 act. The gameplay is pretty much the same the only difference is that there is new items, and new feature of dressing up your hireling. The expansion could have been a lot better than it was!!! I suggest for those of you who currently do not own diablo 2 expansion set, to wait until the price drops to at least [price]. Your probably wondering why I gave it a five star. Thats because I needed your attention to see the truth. I actually believe that this game should and accurately recieve a 1-2 stars only. -DONT RUSH TO BUY THIS GAME!!! TRUST ME I AM A BIG BLIZZARD FAN AND NOW BLIZZARD HAS TRUELY DISAPPOINTED ME! I AM DISILLUSIONED!!

Summary: Had hoped for more.
Review: I'll preface this by stating that I'm not one of those hardcore Diablo players who has to play the game until my character is level 99 and has a gazillion experience points and the best of every item. Perhaps in an MMORPG, this is a great goal. But in a game like Diablo, it seems that once you've beat it, you've beat it. Experience, weapons, levels, abilities and everything else are scaled so that while beating Diablo at each higher level (Normal, Nightmare, Hell) is slightly tougher, it's not much different than beating it the first time. And since the cinematics, levels, areas and acts are all the same, it gets boring after the first time. At least, when you have a thousand other things to do during the day, once you've beat Diablo, the excitement just isn't there to do it again (though for some people it obviously is!).

That having been said, i did pre-order the expansion pack and eagerly awaited its arrival. Diablo is a fun game in general and more Diablo had to be a good thing. I figured it would keep me busy for a long time and give me something to do with my time between projects.

So I put the game in at noon. By five o' clock that evening, i had beat the game. As much as I hate to say this about a Blizzard game, it just wasn't worth the price. I'm not even sure it was worth half the retail price.

There are two new cinematics. The first one is enjoyable but non-spectacular. The final one is a let-down, not exciting and completely anti-climactic. I don't expect to play it again and gave it to a friend.

If you're a hard-core Diablo fan who plays your characters past level 50, you'll probably enjoy this. If nothing else, you'll enjoy the new monsters, items, classes and the 600x800 resolution. Otherwise, you might find a completely seperate game more worth your money and more rewarding in the long term.

Summary: No Blizz, don't send us to Hell again.
Review: Diablo 2 was bad enough. Mindless point-and-clicking in a dull and repetive environment -- that was essentially all D2 was.

Then Blizzard decided to cash-in on zombified Diablo 2 players by releasing this. Sure, it adds a new act and 2 new classes. But how long is that going to keep you entertained? Once you beat act 5 a few times, it becomes boring.

The bottom line is: the only thing that keeps you playing this like a zombie is the items. That's it. Nothing more. For me, I find seeking unique items that very boring. I know many D2 zombies, er, I mean D2 players will find this good entertainment.

So unless you get a kick out of mindlessly searching for items, then Lord of Destruction is not going to keep you entertained very long. I bought this in anticipation that it will add a new dimension to D2 -- looks like I was wrong. It's still the SAME GAME.

Summary: game: love it, marketing stratigey: hate it
Review: I love Diablo 2 it is my favorite game but blizzard just relessed a new patch 1.08 which completly screws up the game. Blizzard has made some outragous claims that this patch enhances game play when really (in my point of view) this is just a ... to get us to buy the xpack. That makes me mad. plus the put the price at .... ive been trying to get ... for the past week and i havent got it. soo im stuck here trying to get money from my perents adn still dont have the game.

Summary: The best thing since sliced bread
Review: The best! Diablo ll was the best and now they made it better. Better have a good mouse. I recommend a optical mouse like the Logitec Cordless Trackman Wheel. It's worth the $$$. You will never leave the house again. Better pay your cable internet bill.

Summary: Lord of Destruction is fun
Review: The expasion set is really fun. You'll like it if you played Diablo and/or Diablo2. If you like real time RPGs you'll like it also. although its only 1 act it adds alot of other features to all the other act including the new playable characters (Assassin and Druid). which makes duling funner and new stratgies if you decide to make one of the new characters. This game is challenging and you won't like it if you get fusterated easly. It is no fun if you have a slow computer espally on Battle.net because when you use way points and the screen frezzes while you are arving in the area the rest of the game is still moving and you'll get killed without knowing it. Other wise you probably like the game. Sorry for the Miss Spelling.

Summary: This upgrade made the best computer game even better!
Review: With better weapons and characters, the best computer game ever just got even better! With new characters like the Assassin, that uses blades worn on her hands, and the Druid, who can summon or even turn into wolves and bears, this game has taken a giant leap. It also has new, even stronger magic weapons that are sure to give the upper hand in battle against Bhaal and his hordes of demons.
