Summary: More of the Same
Review: Lord of Destruction (LOD), Diablo II's (D2) expansion, is merely more of the same, with a few little improvements here and there. Sure, the two new classes (Druid and Assassin) are fun to play, and they play much differently than the existing classes, but after awhile, it's the same old "go kill the monster and get the experience." Yes, being able to switch weapons is nice, and the new mercenaries are helpful. But they're only so interesting, and the merc's have an irritating tendency to not know how to run away.

Summary: Kickin' Butt - D2 Style!
Review: A rocking expansion pack...much better than Hellfire was for the original Diablo game. The game does occasionally kick out some uniques and rares, but this stuff is a lot harder to come by than in the original D2. I like the addition of the runes (which can be combined to make extra strong weapons and armor) and the fact there are more gems. I plugged a Thul rune into one of my unique bows, and the thing is hot! Act 5 is a lot of fun, as well as being challenging and visually attractive. The fact that the mercenaries you hire can be outfitted with armor, weapons, and headgear, and also level with you is a big improvement. Remember how useless the Act 1 and 2 hires were in the original? Much better! Brava!

Summary: Non stop action
Review: With much anticipation it finally arrived. The new world graphics are very detailed and intriguing. The monsters are a little harder to defeat, but there are many more than the first 2 versions. You will find yourself wondering when will you be able to stop, rest and refuel. I am a true Diablo addict. Blizzard you have done it again. BRAVO

Summary: What have they done?
Review: Been playing Diablo since the original game came out and of course, very addicted. Not to happy with the expansion though. Price tag pretty high for what you get, but as usual Blizzard has out done themselves on graphics, much slower than before. Also one day as an amazon I could use 2 arrows to kill a bad guy, next day after patch upgrade on battlenet took six to kill the same bad guy. Don't know what there doing to the software but I have found it generally dissapointing except for graphics.

Summary: Love the Game. Love the new Characters, but some problems
Review: The expansion set for Diablo II is the same game as Diablo with lots of added extras. If you enjoyed D2, you'll enjoy this game just as much. There seems to be some problems running the game on Windows NT/2000 systems though. A friend loaded the game onto Windows NT 4.0 and constantly receives Blue Screens of Death. As for myself, I've been running Windows 2000 Pro for a few months now and never got a BSoD until I loaded D2 EXP. BSoD's are rare for me, so it's detracted very little from my gaming enjoyment. This is the only thing that keeps this game from a five star rating.

Summary: Definite fun
Review: This game is just way too fun. If you loved Diablo 2, then you'll definitely love Lord of Destruction. There are plenty of new features- it adds a new twist on the Diablo experience. There are a lot of improvements- better hireling interaction (you can equip and resurrect them), more hotkey settings, and buying things got a lot easier too. As for extras, LoD has tons of them- more unique and set items, tons of new horadric cube recipes, crafted items, runes and rune names, all these in addition to the two new character classes.

Summary: How long have you been playing?
Review: If you're looking to convert high level characters to the expansion, my rating changes to a 4. There's still a lot of great items and xp, but the game is much harder on nightmare and hell, and a lot of your skill points will become much less valuable because they depended on things that have been changed. However, if you want to start new characters from scratch, and are ready to rethink all your old strategies, the expansion is worth every cent. The items are great, the skills have been balanced (though there's still room for improvement), and no class has a clear advantage over another. In either case the expansion is highly recommended, but keep in mind that your character you've been working on for months (especially if it's a barbarian) could become much less powerful, and you'll have to step back to easier areas and slower exp.

Review: Diablo 2 is a excentlent game. Now it's Expansion pack come out and it is even better the Diablo 2. Everyone who didn't play this game don't know what a real computer game is like.

Summary: Just when you thought you've beaten the addiction...
Review: Diablo II was, without a doubt, one of the most addictive and entertaining games of 2000. However, with the release of Diablo II Expansion: Lord of Destruction, those of you that put Diablo 2 down, or have reduced your playing hours, prepare to be sucked back in to the world of Diablo... With Diablo dead and his soulstone destroyed, it seems that the world is at peace again. However, there was one major oversight: Baal, Lord of Destruction(and my favorite of the three Prime Evils) has been amassing a great army during your hero's trek into Hell to battle Diablo. This tremendous oversight has now come into fruition, as Baal has invaded the Barbarian Highlands in the Northen regions, thrusting you once more into battle with one of the most powerful forces of Evil in existence... With dozens of new monster types, you will find yourself fighting for your life against some of the most difficult monsters yet encountered in the game. Some, namely the Reanimated Horde, simply just do not want to stay down! They may require you to kill them up to 3 times just to keep them there! However, each time you kill it, it is as if you are killing another monster entirely, giving you even more experience and possibility for items. These are just some of the many new monster you'll encounter, including a few unique 'Boss' monsters, including The Lord of Destruction himself! Two new classes headline this expansion set, which are the Assassin and the Druid. The Assassin is an incredible class. She has 3 skill trees, one of which is Martial Arts, which give her the ability to perform magical martial arts moves, as well as the addition of 'charge up' moves that, when charged enough, will result in a fantastic display of effects and heavy damage to monsters. Another skill tree is the Disciplines tree, which allows her to master her art of using Claw weapons(the assassin unique class weapon) and other abilities such as blocking, elemental resistance, even creating a 'shadow' version of herself, capable of the same destructive force that she is! Her final tree, Traps, is a great tree that allows the assassin to deploy devices such as fire bombs, lightning webs and others to keep enemies at bay. The Druid is very much like the Necromancer class, with one extra unique and awesome ability: the ability to shape-shift into a Werewolf or Werebear! Aside from that, the druid is a master of Earthly magics, with the forces of nature at his command. He can also summon the animals of the wild and spiritual realms, such as Dire Wolves, ravens and Grizzly bears! Definitely a formidable fighter, he is sort of like a revamped NEcromancer on steroids. Also in this expansion is one final act with 6 quests, Act V. Those of you who have beaten Diablo II already are saying: 'One act? That's it? Is it worth it?' All i can say is YES. Act V is almost TWICE the size of Act III, which was the longest Act in the original game. The playfields are huge and beautifully detailed, and yet another masterful musical score accompanies the new act, fitting nicely with the chaos and drama that happens throughout. Finally, there are thousands more unique, set, magical and rare items added to the game's original thousands! This should make adventuring alot more desirable, and up the replay value a few notches. The expansion also includes two more cinematics, again, in excellent quality and worthy of the standards set by Blizzard in the past. The opening cinema to Act V is incredible. If you didn't like Baal previously, trust me, you'll like him now. Excellent voice acting and casting, dozens of new creatures, thousands of new items and 2 new incredible classes all stuffed into one HUGE Act make this well worth your time and money. The addiction is going to come back...and its gonna hit HARD.
