Summary: Challenging, Entertaining, Beautiful!
Review: When I first played MYST I was enthralled by the graphics and enjoyed the game so much that I went into mild depression when I finished it :) But even MYST doesn't hold a candle to RIVEN. Just walking around and looking and listening is entertaining! Everything looks and sounds so realistic that it's utterly fascinating. And it's challenging enough to anybody stuck to their computer with the sound up for great periods of time. I love it!

Summary: Best Graphics Ever!!!
Review: This game was most likely the best I have ever played. The graphics were absolutely wonderful, the play control was good, the puzzles were challenging, and the storyline, so often forgotten in games, was interesting to the moment you leave Riven. This is the game for anyone who has ever wanted to immerse themselves in a new world, full of intrigue, examination, challenge, vast distances, an immense beauty.

Summary: Riven is a challenging game
Review: I have played MYST, only to find myself wanting more when I finished the game. Well Riven was my answer. It has kept me busy now for more than 6 months of continuous play. From the intricate graphics to the interesting puzzels it has held my interest. Anyone who has played MYST, and enjoyed it, should definitley give Riven a try. Also you should try reading the three books that are out, written by the creators, Rand and Robyn Miller. They were great.

Summary: Riven is another smash from the creators of MYST!!!
Review: I LOVED this game so much! I love the puzzles and the sounds and the graphics. I read in a magazine about this game, and they only gaveiti a 75% out of 100%! It deserves a better rating than that! I dant think Rand and Robyn Miller went through 4 years of writing and developing this game for 3/4 of the rating it should've gotten. This is one of the most awesome games in the whole world! I never get bored playing this game, cause I love mysteries and I have played Myst about a zillion times. For all of you who have played MYST (and liked it), this is such a wonderful computer game full of cool graphics and sounds. RAISE THE ROOF FOR RIVEN! END

Summary: A new reality
Review: After having immersed into Gehn's fifth age - the beautiful and fascinating Riven - the real world became even more real to me. Birds sing, and I hear them. Trees become green, and I notice it. Even more than before. Sight and sound in Riven have significance in the puzzles. So you must learn to notice them. And this training alone is worth buying the game. Nature is so wonderful (it's a tech freak who writes this).

Summary: Setting the standard
Review: Now, I never played Myst (my old computer couldn't handle it), so I write this review not to compare the two games. Rather I write simply to say that I believe this game to be one of the most fascinating digital entertainment experiences of my life so far. The graphics are undeniably beautiful, the music invigorating, and the puzzles fascinating, engrossing, and sometimes even sensual. But to stop short and merely comment upon the production values and basic game play would be to miss the larger point. The creators of this game had a vision. They are artists with something to say, something to show. The game is not merely a beautified jigsaw puzzle, but an expression of a vision of the world of literature, art, culture, and video games. It carries within it the pain of creation, the self-consciousness of expression, and a small piece of the meaning of life. If, someday, interactive multimedia replaces the cinema as medium of choice for popular entertainment, Riven will be considered one of the first mature examples of the art form.

Summary: Even Better Than MYST!
Review: It's weird, but I played on Riven for two weeks straight. Then I decided to go back to MYST, just for the heck of it. Guess what? MYST looks totally fake compared to Riven. Do it. Play Riven for a while, then go back to MYST. Notice the difference? That's one of the reasons why I like Riven the best. Also, it's more 3-D (you get to go up stairs and stuff everywhere). I don't understand why some people hate Riven. MYST was so obscure, I had to get a cheat book to understand it!! But with Riven, it was more fun because I could do it on my own : )

Summary: IT'S GOOD QUALITY!
Review: I believe this book expresses itself more fluently, unlike other get-right-to-the-point strategy-guides. I've always liked it's author's writing. Plus, the RIVEN journal gives you a more real prespective. Not of the game itself, but of the island.

Summary: I saved Catherine! I trapped Gehn! I'm a hero!
Review: I was THERE. I was in Riven. It was much better than any Vacation I've ever been on! (Except L.A.) Riven is the most awesome game I have ever played. The music is the only thing in it that did not do better than Myst. Everything else was , well, uh.....WOWYZOWYKERPLOWY! help me people I'm spazzing out here over this game! I don't want to give any specifics, since it might ruin the game, but here's my best. There's a guy and a lady and the lady is trapped by another guy and you gotta save her. With a lot of other jazz including REbels, ages, etc, etc, etc..... I loved Riven and I need to go back! So while I try to get my copy back from my friend who's borrowing it, you go out and buy it, 'kay?
