Summary: Warning for Windows XP owners
Review: I tried to install this application on my Windows XP system. At the end of the install, I received a Windows warning (!) message that this application "has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP."
It continues on to say that "Continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future."
I aborted the installation and then looked on other web sites for fixes and possible new drivers. What I found was that other users who had gone ahead and installed the package anyway were having system instability problems, even when the package was not running. Hopefully they had a checkpoint to restore their system back to.
I heartily recommend that you do not install this package on Windows XP until the vendor provides you with an updated driver THAT PASSES THE WINDOWS LOGO CERTIFICATION TEST. If you really insist, make sure that you have a full system backup and a recent checkpoint written.

Summary: Not for high-end laptops
Review: I was really excited about this collection of slots, but unfortunately, it doesn't run on my laptop. I emailed Phantom EFX, but received no reply and ended up returning the game. It appears that it is unable to deal with the laptop's resolution as are nearly all games from this company and from Sierra.

I also tried another slot game from this company with the same results. I guess I'll stick to Masque Publishing's games which work flawlessly on my machine.

Summary: Just like the real thing
Review: I'm really enjoying this software. I get to enjoy gambling without spending any real money-last night I even made $50,000!!! The games are realistic and fun (some more exciting than others).I like being able to change the currency denominations. My only complaint (if you can call it that)...the games are alittle "loose." In live casinos, I don't think (no, I know) I would be hitting as many jackpots and getting to as many bonus rounds as these games allow me. It's beginning to lead me into a false sense of security when I actually do go to a casino.
If you enjoy casino nickel slots, you will enjoy this software. It's definitely fun and exciting without emptying your purse.
P.S. I haven't made it all the way through the Prize Vault yet, but I'm on my way. Some of the requirements to pass through are alittle steep-might get there in a year or two.

Summary: Great Game
Review: Nickel Alley once again shows how superior Phantom EFX is in the PC Slot game market. Each machine has beautiful graphics and slot play is very realistic. I've had this game for a year and never get bored. If you think the reels spin too slow, fret not, just go to their website and download the latest patch. Favorite games of mine include: Hollywood; Periscope (both from Shufflemaster); Longest Drive; Shady Acres; Bartender Olympics. Check it out. For the price, I'm sure there are a few machines that will quickly become your favorites.

Summary: Extremely FUN!!!
Review: Real Deal Slots Nickel Alley Features Two games we can find in the casino, Hollywood and Periscope which are both 9 coin Video Slots with Bonus screens. both games are very Fun. The rest of the games on the CD-ROM are 9, 15 and 20 line Video Slots, most with Bonus screens. There Games include a Golf game-Longest Drive, A Military Game, A Magic Game An Asian game, A trucker game-Long Haul, An Auto Show game, a Surfer game-Beach Partrol, The Player, A Hawian Game and on and on. All the games have wonderful 3-D looking graphics and Sounds. You can play all the games at five cents, ten cents, a Quater, fifty cents, a Dollar, five dollars, 25 dollars, 50 Dollars, 100 dollars, 500 dollars and at one thousand dollars. The game also includes a Casino club Card when you can gather points for player and then with those points in runs you through a series of things such as buying merchandise and advancing on from room to room, finally you can gather enough points, win a certain amount of money, play each game a certain amount of time, and also play an over all amount of time to get a combination (to a safe) and get a special surprise. Which I won't give away hear. This game is a bargain and is extremely fun.

Summary: want to love it but...
Review: The machines are TOOOOOO loose!! Everyone wants to hit a jackpot, but not every 5th spin. That saps all the excitement out of the game. Otherwise, terrific graphics, sounds, bonus rounds, etc. I'm willing to even say that some of these games are better and more exciting than the best video slots in the casinos. What these games need are an option like the Masque Games -- play authentic or high (i.e., unrealistic payoffs). I prefer Masque, but Phantom has, hands down, the best looking slots available.

Summary: Loads of fun.
Review: This game runs easily on my Dell notebook. I also own the Masque CDs with Bally slots and the other Phantom CDs. This is by far the best of all. If you like to play the nine-line slot machines at the casino, I highly recommend this program. The graphics are terrific; the background noise is fitting; the bonus rounds are entertaining and profitable. Several of the slots are recognizably similar to real machines at the casino, and it's just plain fun to play them for max coin.

Review: To be honest, I don't have this game yet, but based on my experiences with other Phantom games and from reading their web site; I can believe it when everyone says it is the best yet. As great as the Reel Deal Slots was, and the difference of Vol 2, I would expect this to blow Vol. 2 away and be that much better.

My reason for posting this at this time is to remind everyone what some of you have been saying, namely to be careful of your system requirements. I didn't realize that the Phantom games take up really huge amounts of RAM and HD space compared to say, Masque's games, until I checked the box one day after having problems with Vol. 2 I still have the same trouble sometimes running Vol. 2;

That vivid detail, and realistic graphics and sound do come at a price. If your machine can handle these (and they keep getting more and more MB's all the time) go for it. The most bang you can get for $20.

Don't get me wrong. Ever since Slots 2 from Masque, and the re-working of slots one, (IGT), along with the Bally and the new Video (gold box). Masque puts out a really fine product, as good as any. I like theirs better than some of the others (like Hoyle) for realism and good running.

But again, Phantom's are the best, but with a price. The Prize vaults are what makes it. Nice to see that there is a bonus poker and bingo , too.

When I can get a machine with much more ram and HD, I'll be sure to get this one. But by then, who knows what those folks at Phantom will come up with?
