Summary: Sanitarium
Review: PROS: this is a very creative game that will take you away from the boredom of the norm. Engaging plot, strange(sometimes creepy, sometimes hilarious) interactions with out of this world characters, and there are tons of puzzles throughout that are captivating & perfect(tricky but not too difficult). This one will have you glued to the screen.
CONS: Graphics are not "Medal of Honor" or "Hitman" caliber, but they are intriguing. Playability is a bit annoying as you have to click mouse, hold it in and move it around as your character follows it. It would be more efficient if you could just place the arrow where you want to go and click to have your character automatically move to that location, or at least be able to use keys to move. Unfortunately, I never made it past the first CD(THERE ARE 3) due to the 2nd CD being defective. CD would not load and I tried it on 2 different systems that are flawless. Emailed seller and no reply. Happy gaming.

Summary: Great Game!
Review: It's so hard to find good PC games today. Most games are about killing and shooting people. (...) I couldn't resist the cover. It looked so creepy. I installed the game and it was fine until I got stuck in the second chapter because of a bug. I had to take the game back to the store because the downloadable patch didn't work. I was very disappointed. From what I saw, I wanted to finish the game. About a year later I got the game from Amazon for less than half the price I paid [before at the other store]. And the game worked! No bugs. I loved the game. The story line was so interesting. The graphics were incredible. I would recommend this game to anyone, but be careful with children. This game scared the hell out of me!

Summary: Fantastic symbolic journey through nostalgia and nightmare
Review: Sanitarium is a fantastic, unique, unmissable game. For emotional depth and symbolic resonance, it's light-years ahead of mechanical, linear shoot-em-ups. Sanitarium raises computer roleplaying several rungs on the ladder and creates one of the few truly human and genuinely likeable protagonists in the genre. The plot is beautifully developed through a series of dream-within-dream convolutions that leave the player guessing while building a credible and deeply interesting bond with the main character. Puzzles are not only interesting but generally relevant to plot development. To say more would be to say too much, but don't miss this one!

Summary: Wish I Could Play...
Review: Looking for a new PC game to play, I got Sanitarium based in part on the reviews here on Amazon. Unfortunately, I'm getting stuck on the second level because of whatever bug produces lock-up on that level. I've tried downloading the patch for this, and while I got further along the second time, it still locked up. ASC is out of biz for over a year, and I've written to DreamForge, but for now, this game is essentially a set of 3 silver drink coasters. Aaarrrrgggghhhh....

Summary: Breathtaking and haunting
Review: Most adventure games do not lure you in to such a haunting story with such detail and innovativeness as this one. Others I've played, while good are more light-hearted such as the King's Quest series. Others go for laughs like Day of the Tentacle or Sam And Max Hit The Road. But this game not only skillfully delivers a chilling psychological horror, it sprinkles in gimmicks that I have not seen before in this type of game.

The story literally begins in an insane asylum. You wake up, your head wrapped in bandages with no knowledge as to your identity nor why you are there. Your only clues are the inmates that gibber and bang their head against the wall and sometimes cluck like a chicken. You slowly begin to unravel the strands of a plot, but then are catapulted into an entirely new story altogether it seems.

Sanitarium throughout brings you in and out of "consciousness", traveling to different landscapes , sometimes in different bodies, and yet th ewhole thing flows very cohesively. I must admit the ending was a little disappointing and predictable but it did not spoil the fun.

Some of the new features include the direct-X like feel where you see a building, you enter it, and the side of the wall disappears to reveal the room you step into beyond. THis trick is very ingeneous in packing in all the areas and objects to investigate although on one of the chapters, I had a little trouble with it at one point.

As with all good adventures, it made me want to rush home from work to spend another evening figuring out difficult puzzles, wading through the compelling story, and guessing just what suprise would come next...despite my reluctance to discover just where this strange little story would take me next.

Summary: One of the best games ever!
Review: Wow, this game is one of the greatest I've ever played! Made up of 4 disks, it has lots of playing time. You travel through various dream lands of the main character, Max, who just had a serious accident and is in a coma for some time. With shapeshifting and hilarious characters, this game is highly recommended for any computer player.

Summary: Irritating in some parts, fantastic in others
Review: You've read the synopsis so I won't repeat it. Some of the places you get to visit are amazing, filled with interesting challenges. Other places are packed to the edges with characters you need to talk to -- at length, and slowly. Parts of the game deserve 5 stars, others deserve only 1. This averages to 3 stars, though I'd still recommend the game at this price!

Summary: I'm so crazy
Review: I enjoyed this game a lot. The cinematic scenes were excellent and actually integral to the game. I liked the use of the cinematic cuts when you discovered something new. The game play itself ran smooth on my ATI 128 and 64M of ram. The graphics were overall like Blade Runner but better. The story was great. The puzzles weren't overtly hard. I cheated a bit but only because I wanted to get through it faster; it's not nescessary.

Summary: Pleasantly creepy diversion
Review: A fairly engrossing journey through a Hollywood version of insanity. The gross stuff (and there's lots of it) is all cartoonish and mostly nonthreatening, and the puzzles are interesting and solved through brainwork rather than reflexes.

Summary: CAAARRREEEEEPPPPYYYYY!
Review: Man, this game was mysteriously creepy. So worth the time, money and brainwork. Makes you wish you could see all the characters faces up close~for more effect. I didnt know if I was going to be really scared or just creeped out. Creeped out won. A great story line and wonderful game for Adventures. Its about a man that has no idea where he is, why or even who he is...he just wakes up in a Sanitarium......enjoy the journey to this "crazy" world.
