Summary: Where is the Expansion
Review: I have looked all over for this "Creature CD" expansion that was advertised in the Stradigy Guide and I can't find it anywhere. If they realy want people to buy there stoff they should provide locations of where they sell the Creature CD, because if they did I would be happy to 5 or 6 for me and my friends who also can't find it.

Summary: B&W. . .good or evil?
Review: This is an awesome game. You can be good(heal people, do the right thing. . .)or evil(burn villages, throw people. . .which is REALLY fun). And you can also get a giant creature(he/she can be good or evil to). When you're good or evil, your appearance(or basicly your hand)changes, same with your creatures appearance. And, there is a HUGE variety of creatures you can choose from. A horse, ape, cheetah, gorilla, mandrill(baboon), tiger, and, last but not least, the all powerful cow. Overall, this is an excelent game.

Summary: Only some flaws
Review: this is game is great, AI top notch, Grapics look almost like Giants, and great fun gmeplay. The only problem is, to reptive, and the villagers get annyoing. We need food, we need wood, etc. But if you want a advance togatchi, and the sims, with better ai, put into one, this it.

Summary: Tedious and Slow
Review: I've had this game for a few months now. At first I loved it. Learning about each individual element of the game (e.g., the miracles, the creature, the villagers, the islands, the opposing gods) was fun and promised for exciting gameplay. Unfortunately, knitting all of the elements together into a comprehensive whole is one area where Black & White needs work. For instance, in order to accomplish anything, you are forced to "increase your influence"--that is, you cannot interact directly with any area of the island that is not under your influence. To gain influence, you have to demonstrate to the neighboring villagers that you are a powerful god by tossing rocks, trees, people, fireballs, whatever over their heads so they fear and/or are amazed by you. This becomes very tedious. It takes ages to gain the influence you need and the process to gain it is not very fun.

Alas, I wanted so much to love this game, but it's just too repetitive and slow.

Summary: A good game with some bad faults
Review: This game is great if you are patient and have a top-of-the-line computer. (At least 700mhz, a GeForce accelerator card, and 128mb of RAM) Otherwise, the novelty of being a god wears off quickly as your creature responds like a two year old with Down's Syndrome to your commands. Taking over new villages to advance in the game is very trying and a lengthy process at best; sometimes it is impossible with your playing style. The developers did a great job trying to keep the game balanced, but in the end it does favor one style over the other. (Though I won't tell you which one.) You've probably heard many things about this game given the reputation of its designer and the revolutionary direction it takes, but unless you have some money lying around or are just a very curious person, I wouldn't recommend Black and White.

Summary: A review for the average jo
Review: Ok this game has been hyped a ton. And a lot of the gaming press has liked this game a lot. But what a lot of the critics arent mentioing is that this game has some major flaws, that unless your a veteran gamer you are gonna hate. One of the things that I think is B&Ws biggest flaw is that managing the world is intense! This game brings new meaning to the word MICROMANAGE. The managing of the world in this game can be compared to being the CEO of big company that dosent have mid ranking managers to take care of the smaller details, so as CEO you are responsible for every descision right down to wether your junior employees can have a week's vacation or will be getting holiday bonuses. In B&W not only are you responsible to teaching creatures that arent very bright, you have to directly manage multiple villages - each containing 50-100 villagers. You have to make sure each village has food, wood, and you have to assign villagers to different tasks, such as worshipping you, breeding, fishing and farming etc... The creatures often require multiple disciplines before they realize you cant eat villagers, and u cant poop in the town square. (If your being good - however it is much easier to teach a creature to be evil) Imagine a tamogotchi/Giga Pet that has more moves ot teach and is not very bright combined with a Sim City or Age of Empires where you have to manage the daily lives of your people. And that is Black and White. Now my next complaint is the control scheme. The controls take a lot to get used too. I'm not gonna go into details about the controls - but that are like nothing you have seen before. I've heard before that the controls are supposed to simulate a god moving the earth, but man those controls are just to wierd. Lucklily it is possible to remap your controls to a setup slighty resembling a FPS which makes the game easier. Now what could possibly be in this game to make it worth 4 stars. Well once you get used to the micromanagement, your creature is mostly trained, and you are able to make your villages more self suficent (you will never make them totally self-sufficent :-( - this game really picks up and becomes addictive and fun.... Wether its capturing a kidnapper in Land One or defeating the final boss in Land 5 there is something that keeps u coming back. My advice if you just started the game, take it slow and make sure you've done everything to it's max before moving on. Also since Evil is somewhat easier than good - try that at first. Also it never hurts to have a player's guide handy....

Summary: This little trick makes the game Black or White
Review: OK, everyone, I'm sure you've read a few reviews enough to realize that opinions on this game are similar to the title (OK that was cheesy, gimme a break). There is, however, one little glich that will make this game much more fun if you can tweek it right. My cousin, Jon, pointed this one out to me and I've used it and been very impressed and much less frustrated with the whole micromanagment/resource thing. Here it is:

Cast either a food or wood (not forest) spell and right click about 30 times rapidly over the stock pile. You must position the mouse pointer over the doorway-type area in the stock pile rather than the actually wood or food. Give this a try and if it works, you'll get close to 20k units of wood/food instead of the measly 1k or so. Email me if you have any problems and happy gaming!!
