Rating: Summary: Deus Ex Review: Warren Spector is a genius. You have some choice about how you will go about something. Wonderful world, and game play. Overall an excellant game.
Rating: Summary: The best single player experience I've ever had on PC Review: When I think of the noteworthy games I've bought in the past few years: Half-Life, Jedi Knight 2, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor: Allied Assult, Max Payne. One game still blows them all away in the single player department, and that game is Deus Ex. A detailed and deep first person shooter, whose levels are some of the most enormous and complex I've ever seen. Combine that with an incredible story, so much dialogue and things to examine and read in the game, the developers probably could have written 3 novels with it all. Also, the game's scope and play time are on par with many RPG's out there. The first time through the game my final time was 50 hours (and that's not counting the time I played before reloading...for a first person shooter this is unheard of) You can build your character's skills and personality to suit your tastes and the decisions you make actually effect events later in the game in ways you would never expect in most games. By the time you have made your way through much of the games locales (Paris, New York, and Hong Kong to name a few) and look back, the beginning of the game seems so far away, you'll swear you've been playing a trilogy of games rather than just one, it's just that huge.
Rating: Summary: Awesome, kinda scary for after 9-11, involves terrorists. Review: GREAT GREAT AND GREAT! ... GREAT best game i've ever played. Its my 3rd first person shooter, but the conspiracies were awesome... buy it. buy it!

Rating: Summary: Great game with some minor flaws... Review: Deus Ex...one of those rare gems that help define a genre. Sure, the graphics are dated (even when the game first came out, it was already behind the times). But what the game didn't have in "gee-whiz" graphics, it more than made up for in the "I'm-going-to-stay-up-until-5am-in-the-morning-because-I-want-to-see-what-happens-next." area. In other words, this game has a plot *so* thick, you could practically touch it.PLEASE NOTE: I've tried to push this game on a lot of people. Something I've noticed is that some people quit the game during the first/second mission because the game has a rather slow pace in the beginning.
Rating: Summary: Godawful Review: This game comes complete with 1) a really stupid background story, and 2) gameplay that equals "run around and kill things while waiting for the game to feed you another clue". The attempt at future noir is half-baked, the character models are drab, and the in-game cutscenes are horrible and embarrassing. Typical computer world populated by about 30 people.
Rating: Summary: Best mix of FPS and RPG yet Review: I instantly got addicted to this game. I enjoy the RPG/FPS genre and stick almost exclusively to it. Often I give up on games because I get into situations where I'm out of health or ammo, meet an enemy I can't kill because they're only killed by freezing (or something like that) and my character is a swordsman, need potions (hate majic games) or there weren't enough save game slots to get back to where I can plan better and recover. This game covered all that. Plenty of health packs and other ways to recover. Plenty of weapons and ammo to be found as you increase in levels. You can get out of a bad situation and hide until the enemies think you've fled, and return to a safe area, regroup and hit them again. You can open doors by knowing the code, picking the lock, or blowing it apart. All methods have varying results. You can kill an enemy via hand-to-hand, power (big gun) or try to snipe him from 1500 feet away (if you found the scope). If you don't have the skill(s), you just need to be closer. You increase health by medpacks, food, or med-bots throughout the game. You can also choose to augment your character to be self-healing. Simply, the game is extremely challenging while at the same time not giving you any excuse not to continue through to the end. The storyline is interesting as it flows, and presents multiple options (kill him/let him live, etc) which affect gameplay for a while, although it won't affect the ending. There's just no downside to this game. Looking forward to DE2!
Rating: Summary: One of the Greatest Review: I am going to avoid simple praise and tell you what makes this game great. It's based in a surreal premise of real life conspiracies that draws you deeply into its awesome storyline. The first person action/roleplaying system is great and you'll rarely feel hindered by your weapon choices. The action may be a little slow but the great controls make up for it. Never will you reach a point in the game that you can not pass. If you do, it is because you are not looking hard enough. There are vents, shafts, keypads, and doors begging to be picked all around allowing you to make your decision and follow -your- path. All sorts of weapons and ammo are available. You can have a hand crossbow but various ammo make it an indispensable tool! Flare, sleeping, arrow darts are at your disposal. Weapons are also customizable allowing you to make your full automatic machine gun have a scope or perhaps a silencer. If you like roleplaying or action games this is for you. You will never forget sneaking into an enemy mob compound to steal a dragon laser sword for an allied triad to turn the tides of a clan war. -Keep gaming!
Rating: Summary: One of the Best RPG's ever Review: Great story, great graphics, great game! I can't wait for the se(pre?)quel.
Rating: Summary: a most excellent game Review: Deus Ex is one of those games that redefines the genre, playing it was a blast and the combination of RPG and FPS was incredible. The story, which is now getting more attention in games, was amazing, i would complete a stage and be too freaked out to play again... for about ten minutes or so. While sometimes the difficulty was incredible and limited ammo makes the game tedious near the end, the average gamer should not be deterred. The plot twists keep the player playing just to find out what happens next. Winner of the PCGamer Game of the Year, this is one game where your dollar will not be wasted.
