Summary: If the SIMs is the most wonderful game ever, this is heaven!
Review: This game has all the stuff a SIMs player has desired for from the release of the SIMs. The the jobs, the skins, the houses- they all give you a sense of *harharhar: i'm in control* power. Uh-huh. This game gives now you MORE than that power- it gives you MORE!! And I still want MOREMOREMORE!!!

Summary: Great game, but enough expansion packs already!
Review: First off, I would like to say that this expansion pack is worth buying. You get thirty lots in your neighborhood (some are commercial(grocery stores and farmers' markets) and some are housing lots)and of course you get pets. The only pets worth buying are the cat and the dog, because the other pets stay immobile and don't move around at all or interact very much. The only big difference is that the cat eats rodents. Also, they have put in a little farming minigame which allows you to grow crops and sell them, though I still prefer gnome-making... hehehe... There is also a park where people and their pets are frolicking around all over the grass and having a good time. There are some downsides, however. The dog and the cat count as a family member, so you can't have eight family members and a cat/dog, and, the big one, THERE ARE ALWAYS A BUNCH OF VERY ANNOYING STRAY DOGS WANDERING AROUND, RUNNING THROUGH YOUR HOUSE AND PEEING ON YOUR CARPET AND FLOOR! THEY RUN THROUGH DOORS! I have done EVERYTHING to keep them out(put up fences, barbed wire, furniture...) but they keep getting in and ruining my room score! But, all-in-all, the pros overcome the cons 5-to-1. If you want to hear some unique ideas of putting in a final expansion pack or the sequel, keep reading...
Enough with the expansion packs and on with the sequel!! We are tired of them! Yes, while a lot of ppl do enjoy watching ppl slide down waterslides, have snowball fights, and housetrain dogs, seriously... there are BILLIONS of things to do in this world, and it would take plenty more expansion packs to make them all available. If Maxis wishes to make anymore expansion packs, they should cut to the chase: add weather, let the Sims go to other Sims' houses (and I mean YOUR Sims to OTHER houses, with YOU as the guest), have different landscape surroundings besides green grass, be able to follow your Sims to work, add the ability of the Sims driving THEMSELVES to work, be able to go to horse and dog races and bet on them, be able to go on cruises, fly to different countries (and let the Sims actually go to the airport and buy the tickets and board the planes THEMSELVES...), buy a boat and go fishing in the ocean, be able to buy and sell stock, be able to control the sims with the keyboard while they are driving, skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, etc. so you can steer, turn, and pull off tricks, allow the kids to earn money by washing cars and mowing lawns around the neighborhood, allow the kids to grow up, be able to go on walks and jogs to increase the Sims' body skill, allow the Sims to go to college to start up on degree-requiring career paths, be able to purchase life insurance for your Sims, have a life span (but allow the Sims to live a long and fruitful life before dying), change from third person to first person and back with the press of a keyboard button, and, because I am tired of writing down ideas, PUT ALL OF THESE IDEAS IN ONE OR TWO FINAL EXPANSION PACKS AND/OR START WORKING ON A SEQUEL!!!

Summary: Why the Exclamation Piont was Invented!!!
Review: The New Sims Unleashed, recenty put out in stores, is probably the most fun and cool SIMS GAME EVER!!! This brand new Sim game allows you to do things with your sims that you couldn't have ever done before! There are now BIGGER NEIBORHOODS, n ew characters like the pet trainer, 5 BRAND NEW CAREER TRACKS, and of course the big one PETS!!! You can also go grocery shopping, grow your own vegtable garden, and visit the pet store! Though also, like with other sim games, this expansion pack very powerful and can crash your computar! Roger That! But if you and your computar can handle the best, most fun computar game in time, you'll be glued to it for life! Guarenteed!!!

Summary: A Must!
Review: This add on is the best! It expands the neighborhood and gives you the chance to give your sims pets. The pets become part of your family and yes they become family members that you do have to look after. In addition you can also grow your own gardens. This add on is yet another add on that joins the many other add ons to the game. Maxis may be a little greedy and want to make as much money as possible but I feel that this add on is worth paying another $ for. If you have all the other add ons are you really going to stop now? Get it! You won't be sorry. This add on makes the game better then it already is.

Summary: Horrible Bugs & Crashes
Review: The game just came out and like many other buyers I went out and bought it! BIG MISTAKE!!

I have found that I am not the only victim of Maxis that many others have experienced the wonderful side affects of putting a game out before it is ready to be out! The first time I tried to install the game it crashed and I got an error message. The second, the third and the fourth time it just crashed. I get sent back out to the desktop every time. Don't bother asking for support or help with your game from the technical support people because they are just plain unhelpful! I really suggest people just wait till they put a patch out because otherwise it will be a frustrating time of reinstalling, deleting and starting from scratch to correct problems only a patch can really fix!

Summary: GOT IT, LOVE IT!
Review: Hey all!,

Thank goodness i pre-ordered this game since the shipments to Utah were late! This is the best expansion pack they have come out with. The only problem i see with it is that you cant just buy ONE pet, you will go to Old Town and buy 2 or 3, just because you can and let me tell you something, this is hard! but definatly worth it! So just a word of advice...cats are easier than dogs to start with. And try to get just one until you figure out what your doing. HAVE FUN!

Summary: Could be better
Review: I was disappointed in Unleashed because I was under the impression that it would make the game more fun. While it's great to go get pets and have a veggie garden, the reality is the expansion is not that great. My computer was top-of-the-line last summer, and I own all of the expansion packs. I'm only using half my hard drive and I clear all unnecessary programs before I start the game. It takes four minutes (at least) to load and the game lags during play.
Plus side: You get to choose the breed of your pet(cat/dog), name it, choose the gender, and train it at home (which can be time-consuming). The downtown area is nice, and it's free to get to. The new "call Neighbor" function on the phone lets you access more people than the old flow-chart method. You can grow your own food, but it kills your time, energy, and fun. In order to sell your veggies, you have to take them to town.
Neg. side: Beyond telling the pet where it can go, you can't control the animals. I guess this makes sense if we're sticking to the idea that you can only control people, but then what's the point of including the dogs and cats in the family if you can't control them? Also, added to the roaches and the weird bear that plays with your garbage, we have rabbits galore, gophers, mice, skunks, and the infamous raccoon. Add ten stray dogs and cats and you have a zero yard score. Also, you can't delete or stop actions already in a pet's queue, which can get annoying if your cat wants to chase its tail and your sim wants to give it a bath or pet it or something. The veggie garden was more of a pain that it should have been.

It looks like Maxis just pushed this out and didn't really put a lot of thought in it. I wish their install program would let you pick features you wanted in the game and leave others out (I can live with the roaches and the homeless flies, but mice and rabbits? It's a jungle out there!) On the other hand, there's some fun features and a new decorating theme: French Quarter.

Summary: Got it and yes, I liked it
Review: Well! I just got the new expansion pack and what can I tell you except yes, it's fun. It's interesting for me to note that once I get bored with the last expansion pack, they come out with a new one.

Alright, enough of that... you want the details! Well, yes, you can buy pets. A variety of dogs and cats, I'm sure you've read, which pretty much has everyone buzzing. They do tricks, you can rub their tummies, you can give them treats and scold them when they pee on the floor. They're pretty much like Sim pets (you'll understand when you see it.) You can breed them and they'll have either a puppy or a kitten (which if you don't take care of the mother, the animal protection agency comes and gets the baby, which I don't get one bit because they keep taking my kittens.)

You also get a bunch of strays that walk all around your yard and you can shoo them away or maybe befriend them. Your pets also can catch garden pests (including the cat bringing you the dead mouse) and they even chase away a racoon named "El Bandito." Very cute.

Now for downtown. Old Town is interesting as they've "rezoned" your neighborhood and included shops next to residential areas and parks. I guess this is Maxis' way of making "a city." I liked the idea of expanding the neighborhood, because it always seemed too small. Now, it seems a little more like a real neighborhood. Anyway, yes, it's cute... technically, the same as Hot Date as you have a new area to go to for shopping (and your pets come along as well as on Vacation.) Also, there's a farmer's market. You can buy seeds from "the farmer" and take them home, grow crops and sell them back to him or pickle them for your food cabinet to eat yourself. Sounds like easy money, right?

Not really. Planting the seeds seems to take A LOT of effort as well as weeding and watering which take forever. I thought it might be fun... but... I was slightly disappointed in how very difficult it was to do this and not tick off my Sim. Selling them back isn't very profitable (you make a better profit off of paintings) and I wouldn't mind some farm equipment to make it easier which reminds me: "MAXIS PLEASE MAKE SIM FARMER." (Hey, sounds like fun to me...)

Anyway, the Old Town is like Downtown except you have parks for your pets and actual play equipment. You can buy your pets stuff such as collars, toys and treats (stock up on the last one). As for beds and cat trees, that stuff you get in buy/build mode. (Nice part: there's a little dog print that shows you where all the animal accessories are so you don't have to search endlessly)

As for this trainer, I haven't seen anything related to who he/she is, but maybe it's like the old lady and we'll see her later. Also, you can get your animal judged for a ribbon. You'll be trying to get your pet to do tricks and behave and see if you can get first prize.

How do they get these skills? Well, it does start with training at home. Yes, your SimPet has to accumulate skills just like your sim does. The cat for instance has to work at hunting, being housebroken and tricks. Hard part? You can't click your SimPet onto a book and click Read... you have to get your Sim to train him and if one or both aren't in a good mood, forget it! Actually, it's pretty funny in that aspect but hard.

There is new furniture including (finally!) a variety of spiral staircases that are very neat looking and designed elegantly. Also, a few window designs and doors as well as decorations, such as old type photos, a new fountain and these tiny jets that spurt up water (like in the mall.) A variety of new trees and shrubbery are available (including a weeping willow that actually looks like one) and some new furniture that's geared towards more rustic style (say 1920s farmer) or more Victorian, but not so gaudy.

Bad parts? Well...this is a BIG game. When you see it, you'll understand what I mean when I say it doesn't seem like much, but it's a TWO disc set and my Maxis folder on my harddrive is already 2GB and that's without a load of downloads, just the expansion packs. I actually had to move stuff off my system because it needed so much room. I'm wondering how many more packs Maxis will release before it's just impossible to keep going. Who knows?

Anyway, yes it's fun. Animal lovers will go nuts over this. It does keep you busy and you'll get a kick out of the animals. As for the garden, word of advice: make the garden into a greenhouse. That way the bunnies and gophers will back off. ;) You'll like this.

Summary: really, this game could be better
Review: The Sims is an okay game and gets too much credit. All the expansions only add more job options and items (which you can easily download on the internet) for [money]!!

Why spend so much money on an expansion...all it adds are pets or dating or a grim reaper or the option to make parties. All the expansions are dreadfully similar.

why not add more than just one more option each time?!! i mean, for crying out loud...Pets? just pets? and more neighborhoods..wow.

The variety of pets is not great, too...
I'm disappointed
