Summary: Judging from the screenshots...
Review: ...How can we not give this a 5-stars? This has gotta be the coolest RTS. Each game Westwood released is a perfected version of the previous, who cares about innovation when we have a game with gorgeous graphics and refined gameplay? For those who biased against Westwood, even warcraftiii.net said it absolutely pleases.

Summary: how long will we have to wait this time
Review: I loved Dune 2000 but only having a playstation I had to wait till it came out in that format. Now those of us who don't do windows wonder... how long till its formatted for the PS2?

Summary: A stable as a house of cards!?!
Review: Played the game for about 2 hours at a friend's and in that time I had 5 "bluescreens of death" and 2 stalls where I had to reset the PC. Might be because its a prerelease he got I don't know where, but I hope the released version will be more stable. I'll definitly let someone else buy it first to see if it's more stable before I buy it.

Summary: Worth Waiting
Review: When Westwood announced the development of yet another Dune game the gaming community poised to listen for more.Westwood with the hit Dune II somewhat 8 years ago had revolutionized the game indunstry by providing to all gamers the word real time strategy. With Dune 2000 the company was only preparing us for this title that is also the first step of Westwood in 3D graphics. After a very big and i must admit wonderfull intro the game shows you the first screen. In here you can choose to start a new game or a multiplayer. In the down right corner you will find the options button and in the down left corner the exit.if you start a new game then you can choose from starting a new campaign or skirmish. The campaigns features the three races we all knew and love Atreides,Harkonnen and Ordos.Yes the subhouses are included and adds to the game. What surprized me though is the difficulty of the game.Even in the easy the game follows strategies an actuall human would making the westwood people true to their word.Indeed the game DOES NOT engourages tank rushes. The only thing you will do with a rush is lose every single unit.Only a mixture of units and different strategies can win the game. The graphics of the game are very good and their is also support for multitexturing and hardware T&L. You will also see famous actors with Duke Achilles being performed by Worf of Star Trek. In all the game is a must buy for every dune, strategy and summer vacation lover.

Review: 'I hope westwood doesn't screw this one up'

Have you played the game?

Why did you write a 'review'? The screenshots worth 5 stars alone were they....?

Summary: The best RTS I have ever played,
Review: This game is stunning with its 3D graphics. I have an old piece of junk called a computer that can run this game pretty well considering the system requierments. The units are very well done from Harkonnen Missle tanks to Ordos Chemical troopers.

The campaigns are presented on a map which is equally divided into thirds. Depending on the house you choose you must attack, hold, and attack from enemy territories to reach their capitol.

The game is also littered with entertaining cut-scenes between missions.
The building and producing mechanics are very easy----no running around collecting units of food and wood like AOE-----------just build a refinery and the game collects the money for you. You may have to replace a harvester every so often ,but other than that it runs itself.

The game is alot quicker and action oriented than other games like AOE(Age of Empires I or II). Instead of building up a town and collecting a ton of resources. Emperor is able to do that faster. The game's missions are shorter, though much more fun.

Overall this game definately deserves 5 stars and will keep you playing for a long while.

Summary: WESTWOOD GOES OUT WITH A BANG!
Review: I loved the original story (even the franchised series been ghostwritten as you are reading this). The graphics are a bit dated today yet can still keep up. Not the best strategy yet well balanced and not worse than Generals.
I bought the game some years back but still take it out once in a while.

Summary: Not the best Dune game out there, but still not the worst
Review: Emperor Battle For Dune is a mixed bag of a game. As a RTS its formula has been oftenly used and abused many times in other titles (especially the Dune II or Dune 2000 series), and the leap to 3D isn't entirely that spectacular.

But considering the production value, this game is quite worth mentioning. There's a top actor Michael Dorn (of Star Trek's Lt Worf fame) playing the Atreides duke, and the costumes and props are all used from the 1984 David Lynch movie.

Of course the storyline is a bit absurd... supposely to take place centuries before the main Dune storyline during the 'War of the Assassins'... serious Dune fans might have difficulty understanding it.

The dynamics aren't too heavy... and most missions are pre-scripted and the campaign unfolds the same ways no matter what.

But this game is quite worth playing (if you can find the hours the spare for it).

Summary: somehow playable
Review: Great gameplay, the best base building formula RTS i've played in a long time. Right up there with Ground Control. Only downside is the fact that you're fighting on arrakis. what a horrible planet. ah, yes, and the game plays a little too fast.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A little advice
Review: When I first started the game,Atreides was by far the best.
They've the best weapons I ever saw, including the sonic tank.
Even the ornithopter's back, and you control where they go this time.Everything went well until I had to face the Emperor Worm.
He's incredible, & I could never beat him. So I'm asking if any body has any ideas.
