Summary: Horid Of The Rings
Review: Lord of the rings is okay but, could be better! The camera view is horrible! The Graphics are okay but a bit boxy and the if you are a fan of the movie this game will not satisfy you! The lands are not as in the movie, characters look totally different and the music you will hear will only be in the game, not in the movie! If you want a simple game with simple fighting scenes the this game will satisfy you!

Summary: decent graphics but clumsy game
Review: This game has decent graphics but as someone else said before, The movements of the mouse are just clumsy and slow.It takes forever for Frodo to react when you try to make him move with the mouse. It seems as if he was running in slow motion. This is a great inconvenient when you are trying to fight and jump since he is much slower than the enemies.
Also even though the game resembles the book more than the movie it gets actually boring at some points. Its so hard to make the characters move and run smoothely that it turns frustrating.Comparing to Alice, Undying or even Harry Potter this game is a major disapointment, I can't believe I paid 50 bucks for it!

Summary: COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER!!!
Review: I'M A HUGE LOTR FAN (I STILL GET COLD CHILLS DURING THE TV ADDS FOR THE MOVIES...NUFF SAID)BUT I WAS NOT BLOWN AWAY BY THIS GAME.YES THE GRAPHICS ARE COOL AND SOME OF THE GAME PLAY IS,BUT TO MANY GLITCHES.YES I DID OVER LOOK THEM AS A TRUE FAN WOULD BUT WHEN YOU PAY [money]FOR A GAME YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE TO PLAY IT NOT BE LOOKING AT THE CAVE WALLS OR TREE TRUNKS WHILE YOU'RE BEING BLASTED.I STARTED PLAYING THIS GAME ONE MORNING AND FINISHED IT THAT AFTERNOON IT WAS TO EASY AND SHORT.....OH YEAH THIS GAME HAS NO SERIOUS REPLAY VALUE AT ALL.......

Summary: Be Aware
Review: I received this game yesterday and after 6 hours of working with the game's tech support, and Dell's tech support it still doesn't run at all. The game manufacturer claims that my Dell Dimension 4300 (1.6 gHz, with 512k RAM, 32mb NVidia Graphics Card) needs an updated Intel ATA ULTRA CONTROLLER DRIVER. They sent me to the Dell website to download it. I did and it made my hard drive unbootable. After working with Dell to recover from that mess Dell claims there is no more current driver than the one I have but sent me to the Intel website where no ATA CONTROLLER DRIVERS are available for download. Be aware that even if your PC meets the requirements listed on the box it may create some serious headaches for you and still may not run. On the bright side: there are two CD's so my wife and I can each have nifty coasters!

Summary: So far an ok game. Nice graphics but very hard to play!
Review: Well I'm just starting to play this game and I'm only at the part where the two hobbit boys are swallowed by the tree and Frodo needs to rescue them. I love the graphics of this game and the sound. However I think this game is way too hard and stressful!

For one thing Frodo moves like a tank. The interface is just difficult and maybe it just takes time to learn. The mouse changes the direction you are viewing but you have to use the cursor keys to actually move in a direction. When you hit 'F' key to go into a shooter mode(for throwing rocks) when you move the mouse up the view moves down and when you move down the view moves up kind of like flying an airplane. This is not intuitive for mouse movement and makes aiming for throwing rocks difficult.

Even if you master moving, the fighting is just not good. Frodo has trouble hitting things with his walking stick. I get clobbered by giants spiders or wolves. I try to hit then and Frodo takes so long to swing he is already knocked down before he gets a chance to hit the enemy. Your health goes down fast, but the mushrooms you collect only inch it up a little bit and health doesn't seem to regenerate on it's own.

The enemy also moves too quickly creating stress in the game. For example, the ringwraiths can discover you so fast and I'm not sure where I should run off too. By the time I've chosen a direction and start moving that way the ring wraiths have found me and it's game over.

You have to throw rocks up high in the other direction and hope that wraiths will be distracted long enough to sneak past them. It's scary. Most of the time I'm struggling with my controls trying to make the poor hobbit get somewhere before I'm killed.

I love being able to walk through Bag End and Hobbiton. I wish I could go inside other homes in hobbiton besides Bag End.

I'm not sure if I can redo the hot key assignment but I would help. You have cusor keys on the right hand side of the keyboard but you also have you use your right hand to use the mouse to view direction. So it would help if you could reprogram the movement keys to the left hand side of the keyboard. Also the left control key is used to block attacks so you find yourself having to move your left hand all over the keyboard.

I think this game is beautiful but not nearly as rich graphically as Dungeon Siege. It's a wonderful game to be able to be "inside" middle earth interactively. I just wish the movement controls were better.

I give this game 3 stars for the graphics, music, and the fact that it's middle earth made interactive. However it loses 2 stars for being clumsy with the controls and frustrating in hard places.

When I finish the game completely I will post a followup review.

Review: The movie was bad but the game is much much worse!! I can't believe this is even going to be released, what an embarassment to the company! Oh my word, I've never played such a awful game in my meaningless existence.

Summary: .. replay value... online multiplayer?........
Review: Even though Lord of the Rings will be an awesome game, once you beat it, there will be nothing more to do. It seems like one of those games with absoultely no replay value..... One way to fix taht would be to support online gaming, however this game does not do so.... therefore its one of thsoe games taht u beat in about 2-3 weeks... and then it gets to collect dust on ur shelf.... anyway, it still looks like an awesome game, for the amount of time it will last!

Summary: good game
Review: I would have to say that this is probably the best game i've ever played. however, i am a HUGE fan of lotr, so i ignored some things with this game. if you are a lotr fan, then get this game. i finished the game w/in 4 days of buying, i spent probably a grand total of probably 10 hours on it, so the game is not that long. it is challenging at times though, especially in the shire getting past the ringwraiths (that took me about 3 hours.) graphically its awesome. you want remember the soundtrack. don't expect to see characters resembling the movie characters. my biggest complaints were: when there are a lot of people on the screen and there is a lot of action going on it would skip. also, while fighting the zombie creature in the wright barrow house and the ringwraith at the end of the game, they both disappered causing me to restart. be sure you save your game after you do things. i would get real far in the game and then die, causing me to start way back at the beginning, cause i would forget to save. i highly recommend this game, but i think i might go buy EA's 'The Two Towers' when its released.
