Summary: The Day of Days has arrived.
Review: To a little cool fact, my dad bought me this game on June 6, 2002...which, to most of you history buffs, was the 58th anniversary of D-Day. Unfortunately, my original computer was a grandfather and it's video card was a senior citizen. Hence, the action was delayed. Around 6 months later (don't worry,I survived), I finally got a new card installed and I played the game...on December 7th, 2002...the 61st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor!!! Isn't that the most ironic thing you've ever heard? Nevermind.

Anyways, on with the game. This game puts the 'awe' in "Awesome". I've never seen a more realistic game before in my life. I was a sort-of fan of the original "Medal of Honor" on PSX, but there was something missing in that game...besides the non-gorific details of it all. Hey, baby! This is war! There's gotta be blood of the battlefield. The original game was on the now almost extinct PSX (Playstation), which is only a 32-bit processor (if you wanna call it 'Processor'). Therefore, it was a one-player game with no allies, but it still was cool and the Lone-Wolf quaility fit in because you where a OSS (Office of Strategic Services, now the CIA) agent and you HAD to work alone. Ok, I'm steering off track here! I need to get on to the review!

Okay, here's how it goes. You're name is Lt. Mike Powell, a former ranger of the 1st infantry. You've just recently become an agent for the OSS. But merely 1/4 the time you're doing Lone-Wolf missions, so that's a relief. You're first mission is in North Africa, where you and fellow rangers pose as a German transport corps, in a stolen Opel truck to a German base. But things go awry...I won't give anything a way, cause the story is gripping and intelligent...almost like a Steven Spielberg film (which, by the way, Spielberg produced the game with his DreamWorks company). The action of the game is gripping and just plain exciting for a First-person shooter. Now once again, there's no blood and gore whatsoever, but it's still pretty violent. Many of the soldiers are shot and they make dying noises, and even gurgling. Rather than blood spray ("Soldier of Fortune" fans will know what I'm talking about), a puff of smoke comes out of the area shot on the body, both allies and enemies. This non-graphic content is ok on most of the part, but when you get to the D-Day beach landing on Omaha beach, Normandy, that's where it kinda draws the line. Of course, almost every war-fan and action movie buff loves that opening scene from "Saving Private Ryan", which is the storming of Omaha with blood, guts, dying soldiers, and painful screams. To an existensional point, MOHAA is a sort-of "edited" version of that opening scene. It's kinda funny, because every bit of it copies SPR down to the bone...even the dialouge is exactly the same ("First starboard one, 2nd starboard go. Move fast and clear thoes murderholes. I'll see you on the beach"), minus the brilliant Tom Hanks' voice as the your captain (Heck, that actually would of been intresting). The D-Day level is hard, but I couldn't care the less because it's as brilliant as the scene in "Ryan". Without the blood, of course. I have saved some frustation from myself with no blood by downloading off the internet a "Blood n'guts-patch" for the game which gives a more "M-rated" feel to it, rather than it's "T-rated" vibe. Again, some problems did occur, for the reason I got the patch was for the Omaha beach level. Alas, it didn't work because the soldiers getting shot, where in fact, NOT getting shot...at least, by accident. You see, the patch only works when somebody, like your soldiers, Germans and even YOU, are shot unorthodoxly, unlike the Omaha level where mostly everything is scripted. Eh, it's still a kick-butt game and the level is awesome.

MOHAA is an awesome game with the most realistic gameplay you'll probably ever see. The music too is uplifting and sounds almost like John Williams or Hans Zimmer composed it. The Omaha level will definately make you more Patriotic, and more Pro-American. I can't wait to get the expansion pack, "Spearhead", which includes a level of the Battle of the Bulge, which was a cool segment done in "Band of Brothers". Buy this game, and take my advice...you won't regret it.

Summary: Action strategy at it's finest!
Review: A fantastic WW2 action game from EA. The visuals of this game are amazing, with the sounds to go with them. from the fire of your gun, to the yelling germans/americans, to the bullets and mortar's flying by and sending dirt up in to your face. The game play is by far the best I've played in a while from an action game. Its not run around in circles shotting everything... its more personal, requiring some finese, though not as much to make it in to an espianoge game. Multiplayer is awesome as well. The only con's of the game are that one or two tricky spots in the game may give the player some trouble... (Ugh, that sniper level!!)

Summary: Not bad, I'm pretty pleased
Review: First thing, ea sports has impressed me once again (esp over microsoft) The game is overall a great game, it has impressive graphics, I nice range of missions and weapons, although it is predictably a fps ie shoot everyone in sight. Some missions, however, do require a degree of stealth so in that regard the game is well rounded. My machine is an AMD XP 2200 266fsb 768mb pc2100 ram and 64mb geforce4 4200 video so pretty high end so machines with slower capabilities may start noticing problems. My machine however ran the game with full graphics capabilities enabled, without a single glitch. The only item which brings the game down from a 5 is the enemy AI. In many cases it is very obvious what triggers "waves" of attacks in the game, ie threshhold triggers. If you cross a certain point in a road enemies will attack, but not if u r a foot shy and making all the racket u can. Another example, as mentioned in another review was the floods of enemies when alarms are triggered. Before I knew that the alarms had to be disarmed I went threw a level without worryin about the alarms. I must have killed hundreds of germans, all of them of course managing to hide in two measly houses. So it wasn't very realistic. However, overall it was a fantastic game, providing many hours of challenging entertainment. Good job ea sports.

Summary: EA Hits the nail on the head
Review: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault marks a turning point for historical shooting sims. The game's polished look and smooth gameplay make this title a must-have for any World War II buff (I would know- I am one). The realism of this game is incredible. This game looks great graphics wise. The utilization of the Quake 3 engine, although trailing behind the Unreal 2 engine, in my opinion, looks great. The shading and anti-aliasing work hand in hand to deliver the best possible picture. The sound is great, too- see for yourself by hooking up to 5.1 or better speakers. Of course, if you don't like historical shooters, this game is not for you. Be warned- this is not a run-around shoot-em-up game like Unreal or Quake. (Although it could be such in this game's multiplayer mode, which is a bit lax for a game with a stellar one-player mode). The game controls should be familiar to anyone who has played a pc shooter. The gameplay is great- the guns kick when fired- most noticeable in the sniper rifle, which takes a second or two to re-aim after squeezing off a round. You slow down when shot and enemies work together to hunt you down. The level of realism is very high. Weapons, ammo, and health are located in places you might find them in real life. The guns are accurately modeled after their real-life counterparts. The levels will make you think that you're really in the heart of Nazi Germany or storming the beaches of northern France. Overall, this is a great game. Between the graphics, gameplay, and challenge, this is a great buy. If you're not a big fan of shooters, I suggest you try before you buy. Otherwise, get this game! You'll be glad you did.

Summary: V-PC Day!
Review: MO:AA is just loads of fun. There are so many reviews for this game, it's pretty much all been said, but I will say this: I'm a female gamer (FPS and RP), a bit of a WWII buff and I felt every penny I spent on this game was worth it. I never play Multiplayer, so I'm only speaking about the Single-Player aspect.

I didn't enjoy it as much as "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" (even though the zombie aspect of RTCW irritates me), but nearly as much...so I still give it 5 stars because storming Omaha beach at D-Day was incredible. I was sweating.

My only very mild complaint is that there are some annoying bugs and inaccuracies...like the teeny, tiny submarine! (ha) Once, I was able to save Private Someone for a long time (I really worked hard to keep him alive) until we got to the place where you blow up the anti-aircraft guns and no matter what I did, he would be killed in that explosion, no matter how far away I pushed him. *That* was really annoying, but only a minor bug.

Overall, great game! You'll have a blast...pun intended.

Summary: My computer is too old!
Review: I really like this game. Great gameplay, beautiful sound, and super graphics. But that right there is the problem. I don't have a graphics card! If I do, then it is a really old one that only supports really old games. I keep on telling my mom to get a new one, but we never do. So buy this game, but make sure you have a graphics card!

Summary: History in the Making
Review: This game is good but not what I thought it could be. The options that you are given and the control setup is great, the graphics seem to be less than that of "Return to Castle Wolfenstein". The gamplay is very quick and you must be aware of everything, and I mean everything, for example, as you are running down the road, you may be shooting guys, but as you are you then have to turn around or 8 dogs are going to kill you. The Further through the game you go the less help you get. On the level that you are to meet up with a scattered paratrooper division, the people you meet up with make you do all the work, which in some cases can be quite difficult. If you enjoyed the movie "Saving Private Ryan" You will most likely enjoy the middle of the game as you go through meeting up with caracters that you must rescue. All in All if you are interested in war games and don't mind eliminating the enemy this game is for you. I was very impressed with the Game "Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and I would buy it over this game. The difference that made this game more real to me was that the nazis soldiers actually speak german and not talk with a "german" accent as they do in the "Return to Castle Wolfenstein game. But If you want to storm the beaches of Normandy, go to Africa, and complete missions that do not have Kiddy Zombies in them and like straight soldier/dog attack warfare I think you will appreciate this game.
