Summary: "Darkfall" Is A Pretty Good Game!
Review: This is one of a few adventure games that I have actually played all the way through. This game definitely has some very nice graphics. The ambience of the game is quite spooky, and the sound effects add to the spooky atmsophere. This game literally did give me the creeps a couple times while playing it! The puzzles were on the difficult side. Also, you will need to take extensive, detailed notes -- copy down every diagram you find, every bit of information. Some people have commented that this aspect of the game ruined it for them, but I don't mind having to do this. Also, I didn't like the fact that some objects you could interact with had absolutely NOTHING to do with the game or solving a particular puzzle. For example, the radio in the one room lets you tune in to about six different stations playing all kinds of music. But it has absolutely no relevance to the game! In another room, there is a record player on which you can drop the needle at any point to hear the record play different songs -- but this is not at all crucial to the game! There is a clever, in-game help system, but I found it to be marginally useful as well as difficult to "turn on" when I needed it.

This was a very good game overall, and I highly recommend it if you are into this type of game.

Summary: My First Computer Game
Review: This was my first computer game that I ever played, so I did not have anything to compare it to. I enjoyed playing and I was never board. I didn't have time to be with all the note taking. I just thought that was what you did in these type of games.

As far as the puzzles go, all the clues were given to you so if you had them, the puzzles were not all that hard to figure out. Even the one with buttons.

I am from the Atari generation so, to me, the graphics were great. Since playing Syberia, I know the difference. I was actually board with Syberia at first because I didn't have to take notes!

All in all it was a great game. I did not like the ending at all, it made it seem like a dream. I do hope that DarkFall II will have a better ending.

Summary: SPOOKY
Review: Thoroughly enjoyed this game. I love exploration games to find clues. Took a lot of notes but it didn't bother me as I felt like a detective piecing clues together. If you like a lot of NPC interactions this is not the game for you. But if you like to think then buy this! Looking forward to the sequel in development.

Summary: Boring Lame Adventure game
Review: We have a group of friends who get together every other weekend to play various adventure games while sitting in a group around a computer and taking turns at the mouse while using group strategy to complete the game.
We have played tons of them... many from DreamCatcher.

DARK FALL rates among the most boring.
In fact we uninstalled it and threw it in the trash.

The first and most annoying feature was the interface.
In today's world of PC gaming, having static still shots of your environment (like early days of MYST) is lame.

Realistic 3D environments where you can spin and get your bearings is the only acceptable interface for these types of games anymore...... a series of still scenes with no movement ability inside your screen is quickly disinteresting and detracts from the game.

After about an hour, this game hit the trash can.
There are much more engaging adventure games out there to have fun with

Summary: Definitely Top Ten
Review: Yes, it does contain a lot of reading, and it does help to take notes. But it's worth it. I've been at this for several hours now & I can hardly get out of my chair to go to work. Don't play this at night alone, the sounds are really creepy! It's a 1st person game, so you don't have the personality of Gabriel Knight; & the graphics, while excellent, are not as startlingly beautiful as Syberia, but despite these flaws it is a terrific game, not too easy but not requiring a lot of cheating like some games. Much creepier than Black Mirror. Big plus for those who hate extensive dialogue -- you're all alone in this creepy place! Or are you....?
