Summary: AWESOME
Review: I would like to sum up what I think of this game in 8 words: THIS IS THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME! The story-line, graphics, scripture, chacter design, FMV (Full Motion Video), and did I mention the story-line; all this makes it an epic game. This game is a game no PC owner should be without, it made me a prisoner of my computer chair for a long time. There even was a groove in my seat!!!!!!! If you're looking gor an awesome RPG BUY FFVII, you will not be dissapointed.

Summary: An Excellant Game for Die-Hard RPG gamers! A MUST!
Review: This game continues the Square tradition of putting out excellant RPGs under the name of Final Fantasy. I loved this game for the PSX and the PC alike. The storyline, which the review on this page couldn't do justice, is just excellant but yet will leave asking questions, making you want to play even more just to get caught up! (Rushing through the game can make you not understand everything.) Another excellant Final Fantasy from Square! A must get for anyone that likes RPGs or likes Square!

Summary: Great graphics, exciting storyline, funny and fun!
Review: The seventh is the best! The only down fall are the very high system requirements. Anything below a p266 wont do. But if you side step that, this is the most thrilling RPG you have ever played. Each character and place and a history and story. As the game progresses you learn more about each character's past. The game is also extremely funny at points. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes RPG.

Summary: A must for any Final fantasy fan.
Review: It may sound cliched and maybe even a bit old, but Final Fantasy VII is easily the absolute most critical piece of software any Final Fantasy or RPG fan may own. Originally released almost two years ago, FF7 outperforms any previous Squaresoft game. In its translation to the PC, Eidos did a good job, correcting a few minor spelling errors. However, and this is a big however, you need a massive machine in order to play the game well. A gamepad is a must; also recommended is at least a P350. (The game tends to choke on non-Pentium processors.) As for the sound, if you take the time and hard-drive space to install the included Yamaha add-on (and I highly recommend that you do), you'll be rewarded with sound even better than the Playstation's. The FMVs are, admittedly, a bit messy, but it's better than missing them altogether. Additionally, the play control is a tad muddled at times. However, it's still an enjoyable product. "Game" cannot begin to describe this masterpiece; "experience" comes closest.

Summary: Huge system requirements can knock you down!
Review: Being an avid player of role-playing/fantasy gaming and my first NES game being Final Fantasy, I figured I had to have the first PC version. This is a great game, but if you're running anything less than a Pentium 200 without an accelerator card, you can go crazy. And the whopping 260mg minimum install is incredible. Max install uses 450+ mg!! The storyline is good, though, and character developement is something you will not find on any other game. It is definately worth having in your collection!

Summary: An incredible experience, far better on Playsation than PC
Review: Square's Final Fantasy series of Japanese style "role-playing" games has won legions of fans around the world with its incredible storylines and profound philosophical and moral messages to players. Many people's lives have been changed just from experiencing games from this series. To veteran Final Fantasy players, this game is not likely to disappoint. In fact, the release of Final Fantasy VII vastly increased the popularity of the series outside of Japan, bringing it truly into the "mainstream" market of games (even though the heart of its appeal remains less mainstream).

This particular game is about the subject of "Life," and what it means to live, to exist, to have an identity. The main character, Cloud, represents a major leap in character development for video games. You will laugh, you will almost certainly cry, and you will be amazed. This is an experience you won't want to be spoiled. In light of this, I cannot with a clear conscience recommend getting the PC version of Final Fanatsy VII unless there is no conceivable way you could play the Playstation version. The reasons are that the game simply doesn't play anywhere near as well, the movie scenes are far less impressive, and the music is stripped of its beauty (this ain't no cheesy video game fare -- the CD soundstrack for this game actually reached #3 on the Japanese *popular* music charts!). If you absolutely cannot play the Playstation version, go ahead and get the PC version. The PC version certainly comes highly recommended and easily earns its five stars. But the true experience of this game as it was intended -- on the Playstation -- is really what the fanfare is all about. Remember that you'll be spending a good 50 hours of your time playing this game: experience it in all its glory.

Summary: Get this game!
Review: I'll admit, when I first heard about FF7, I was not really impressed. The game was plastered all over soda boxes and TV, and mega-hyped games often aren't that great. Well, here I am, sucked into this incredible game. Set in an interesting world where future technology clashes with ancient medieval weapons, this is not a simple game. The average gamer will probably spend 50+ hours playing the game. The story of FF7 is probably the greatest I have ever seen in a game, mixing comedy, heart-wrenching tragedy, love and darkest evil. The music is also quite nice, (provided that you have a decent sound card) with songs ranging from the quiet, poignant "Aeris' Theme" to the powerful rock of "Jenova Absolute" and "One Winged Angel." The sound effects could be better, and in some cases are really bad: I summoned Bahamut, the dragon lord when I first got the materia for it, and the big majestic dragon sounded like it was passing gas when it roared. The magic system of FF7 is unique, and also cool. You have to equip magic orbs known as Materia on weapons and armor, and the possible combinations are endless. There are also entertaining side quests, like breeding Chocobos or finding Yuffie and Vincent, the two hidden characters. Graphics are nice, but I recommend a 3-D accelerator. Battles in this game are fun, with some cool animation and graphics. Overall, this is a slightly flawed game, but still a masterpiece. If you want some fun and have the time, get this game.
