Summary: Superfantastic Flight-Sim
Review: Hi, I'm the same Flight-Sim freak that wrote the CFS1 Review...This is even beter than CFS1. The graphics are suberb, the flight model is fantastic, the campaign structure is fabulous, the sounds are good, what more need I say?

Set in the Pacific Theater(as in "Pacific Ocean", get it? Haha) in WWII, you can fly for the Americans or Japanese. Again, like in CFS1, you can adjust the realism from mere low-down rotten-from-hell arcade style flight to superduper-faboulous-sky-ruling-totally-cool full experience flight sim.

However, it's good if you have a new system for this(when I say this I mean P4, Geforce 2+, 512 mb cache, etc.)Also its got multiple controller support, unlike CFS1.

It also has a Free Flight mode, where you can just fly, a Quick Combat mode where you can fight, Single missions(nothinmg to say here), campaigns, and Training Missions.

In plain english: very cool!!!

Dont get caught with your flaps down!!(Cant believe this was written by a twelve year old, huh?)

Summary: CFS-2...a bargain at the price
Review: I spend time each day flying missions of a wide variety. The value of this product when considering the cost is truly amazing. Graphics are terrific, calibration is very realistic and the options for enjoyment are limited only to the user. A real bargain.

Summary: WHOA!!!
Review: You find out how to fly, land and take-off. The controls are a bit hard, but it is fun. The missions are basiclly finding the [Japaneese]/Americans and bombing them. once you get use to the controls, it's on!

Summary: Asome
Review: I'am only 11 and I have about every flight simulator there is. The graphics are good except when you get to low. The cockpit view is good and the sound is good. It's best to have a jostick. We had a hard time with it because we didnt have the rite joystick so if you are going to get it get a good joystick. You can fly planes like the Hellcat,Consair and Wildcat. You can fly Japanese planes like the Zero and George. The campain mode is asome. And if you have CFS1 you can play the Eroupen campain like I can. There is some problems thow. It can get realy boring if you dont have CFS1. Evan thow it says you can play two player you cant, and it's almost inposible to land on a aircraft carrier. Other wise get the game it's worth every penny.

Summary: Good graphics; Bad missions; Still the best!
Review: I totally agree on what Thomas Gubiotti pointed out. If I add one more thing to the complaints, it will be the AI planes. They just keep turning when I chase them and become easy preys: I don't see any brilliant acrobatics from AI planes. Maybe I am asking too much, but to be more realistic, some of the AI planes should be piloted by aces or veterans and some by rookies, but I don't see any difference in AI planes in terms of flight skill.

After playing IL-2 and reading many bad reviews on CFS3, I feel that CFS2 is still the best combat sim game available out there. IL-2 is fantastic with all those realistic damage models and tracers; what I find CFS2 is better than IL-2 is still the graphics. In IL-2, you cannot really tell shapes of planes when they are far away: They are just dots and you cannot tell whether they are peeling off or not until they are closer. In CFS2, you can actually see the wings of planes at a similar distance and as a consequence you can see how they are moving. FYI, I am using the same resolution for both games.

I think this game will be classic or may already be classic. If you are new to the combat flight sim, buy this game. You will not regret. If you need some challenge, then buy IL-2.

Summary: Free CFS-2 Add-on Downloads!
Review: For Christmas I got Combat Flight Simulator 2 and I have played with it every day. I dont think I will ever be tired of it especially with all the air craft down loads you can get off the internet at [URL]. If you get down loads the first thing you should get is the IA pach, (it makes all non-fliable planes fliable). It is a must. On the same site you can also get every airplane from WW 2, but WW 2 planes are not all they have. They also have modern aircraft like the F-16, B-2 and even the Apache chopper with all the fire power. For the stock air craft they have repaints and weapon modifications. The weapon modifications are so cool. You can make any airplane carry any weapon. And that's what you can do with the the down loads.

The game itself is even more fun. To get the most out of Combat Flight Sim 2, you should get a "force feed-back" joy stick, with rudder control, it realy adds alot of realism. Once you have flown every mission in the game you can ether build more with the "mission builder" or you can down load missions from the internet. I suggest you build your own, it is alot of fun. I realy recommand this game, it is fun and real, it is the perfect flight simulator, up to date with the combat and everything else you would expect from a flight simulator. I suggest that you get this game now and Combat Flight Simulator 3 this fall when it comes out. I hope this review was useful to you and you get this wonderful game. Your fellow pilot, John-Luke (age 13).

Summary: Excellent simulator
Review: CFS2 gets better the more I play it. Once I learned how to use the target padlock along with the wingman commands, my wingmen started getting kills and sinking ships for me. Play the game right and your wingmen can achieve ace status.

You can change the degree of difficulty of the campaign you want to fly. On the 'hard' setting, the flak is intense, the enemy pilots are aces, and bad things happen out of nowhere- engine failure in flight, runway collisions, malfunctioning parachutes. Try the night carrier landing!

I like the fact that there are so many online add-ons available. For instance, if you want a break from dog-fighting, you can download dive-bombers or torpedo planes and do some serious anti-ship attacks. Getting the hang of putting a torpedo into the side of an enemy ship takes practice, but it can be done.

There's great support for this game from online gamers, from planes to missions and campaigns.

Many realistic effects in the game. Sometimes your parachute doesn't open if you bail out of a plane engulfed in flames; gunfire damage affects your plane's flight characteristics, which usually means the enemy fighters get the upper hand and can finish you off; sometimes the enemy pilots bail out and you catch a glimpse of their chutes as you fly by (I've tried to shoot a few survivors but haven't caught any yet); I've even had hard landings on carriers where the landing gear broke or the prop struck the deck yet I survived.

The only disappointing effect has been the times when I bailed out within sight of friendly ships yet was captured by the enemy. I guess the lesson is... don't get shot down!

CFS2 is fantastic.

Summary: These Graphics Are PHOTO QUALITY!
Review: WOW!I could not believe my eyes when I first played this game!
The graphics are the best I have ever seen in my entire lifetime. You an get lots of different angles of the plane, so you can see what's going on around you. Fly around in midair doing stunts, like barrel rolls, loops, and flips, as enemy planes fire away at you, putting holes in the side of your plane. What makes it even more realistic is that if you're hit in the engine, or the front of the plane alot, you get an oil leak, and your plane sets on fire as you spin around to your doom!

Summary: CFS2 Absolutely Rocks!
Review: This game is a blast. The graphics are incredible. I am always happy to see Microsoft release a product that doesn't need a patch before it's functional. This is one of the few products. The level of detail has increased beyond that of CFS1. You can actually see the flash of sparks when you hit enemy planes at a distance. Other damage is more detailed, too. Further, it seems to run a little more smoothly than the first release. Plus, you can't beat the online component of these microsoft sims (CFS's, and Moto-X Madness's). They really run well. CFS2 is an incredible experience. See you in the Zone!
