Summary: Great break from FPS doldrums
Review: I have to confess, I stopped playing first-person shooters a while back. I got bored with repetitive action: kill all the baddies on a level, find the secret stuff, move to next level, ad nauseum. But I bought NOLF when my wife gave me a gift certificate to the local software store. I wasn't sure what to get but had read some really good things about NOLF a while back and thought I would give the genre one last try.

I'm really glad I did because this has been a terrific game. It's highly addictive and already my wife regrets her choice of birthday gifts. But I am amazed at how far the game has advanced the genre. Intelligent enemies, compelling characters and a great array of weapons and gadgetry are just a few of the highlights. I don't have hours to kill on games every day but this game makes me wish I did! But my point is, I don't consider myself a hard-core gamer, but I found the game very easy to learn and yet very deep and immersive.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the engine could be improved (although as other reviewers have noted, you really don't notice because the design and gameplay are so good) and to leave some wiggle room for discovery of any annoyances and problems later.

All said, this is a huge thumbs-up and I encourage anyone who wants a good story and great challenge to consider No One Lives Forever.

Summary: One of the best FPS out there
Review: Wow!

That is but one word to describe this game. NO ONE LIVES FOREVER is simply amazing! I never expected the game to be as good as it was. It was absolutely fun!

You play the game as superspy Cate Archer. She is kind of an Emma Peel type character. Cate goes on several dangerous missions to try and defeat the nototrious HARM. It is all up to you, the player, to decide the fate of the world!

This is a long game. There are over 60 missions you have to go through. So you won't have to worry about the game being short. These missions will take you a while to complete. They get tougher and tougher as you progress. Heck, even the first mission caught me off guard a litttle bit. In the first mission, you have to protect some diplomat by killing any bad guys with a sniper rifle! The missions themsevles are highly original and make them a lot different from other FPS. For instance, there is a mission where you end up driving a motorcyle and a mission where you have to escape from a boat that is sinking, to a mission where you dive out of an airplane to catch a bad guy with a parachute! But above all else, the final missions are the best. Cate has to infiltrate HARM's mountain stronghold and save the world! These missions are really tough, but are so rewarding once you've completed them.

This is also one of the best scripted games out there. There is some truly funny dialog between the henchmen. Remember to listen to the henchman's conversations before you blow them away! Funny stuff.

I highly recommend this game. It is not a typical FPS and I praise the creators for making a challenging and different game. Enjoy!

Summary: Had potential, but comes slightly short.
Review: In the classic tradition of the James Bond films, "No One Lives Forever" certainly had an excellent chance to be a ground-breaking game. Unfortunately, while the potential is there, the game comes off as simply a slightly better than average FPS. Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed most of the game, but the downsides really took away from what would have otherwise been an excellent gaming experience. The positives I found were the wonderfully designed levels, the interaction and personalities of each character, the cinematic cutscnes, the length of the game (it took me a week to get through it), the voice actors, the humor, and the diversity of locales. Obviously, there are many more positives that I won't go into here. As I said before, however, there are a few downsides to the game. It was obviously made by feminists as nearly every cutscene involves one of Archer's male allies or enemies rapping on her because she's a woman. It wouldn't be so bad if they put such rhetoric in once or twice, but it occurs countless times throughout the game. This added nothing, and took away a good deal. Also, there is a good deal of cursing and some sexual related dialogue. The violence can also get pretty intense sometimes for a "Teen" rated game.

Overall, it's a game worth checking out in the current market, although there have been many FPS better before than this one.

Summary: Buy it NOW!!!!!
Review: Ok, you see, i downloaded the Tech demo, thinking it would be another extremely gory game with no point (un-real), but when i started playing i really got in to it!!!! the graphics i admit, you brag about, but the gameplay is worth it! There hundred of little side-convezations and the game hillariors in some parts, sobering in others. I also love the variety in levels, underwater, jungle, and hotel (more of course) but last of all the AI! its amazing! Instead of varios games like: duke nukem, doom, unreal, and others. Its on par with Rogue Spear and Half life! You shoot them in the hand and they run away for help, and hide and stuff. This game is Amazing! I think i going to go play it. bye

Summary: Bond fans, GET THIS GAME!
Review: This game is superb! I receive Incite CD and PCGamer CD-Roms full of demos every month, and this is the first time I have found a demo that made me go out and purchase the full game the next day! The game has superb graphics and sound and especially a great soundtrack, I am a big James Bond fan and I feel as though I am living the James Bond life.

Excellent game, very definetly worth the time to download either of the demos!

Summary: Wow
Review: After playing games like Half-Life, Thief, etc... it seemed as if the FPS genre had run out of ideas. But along came NOLF and after popping in that CD, I knew my faith in gaming was restored. The action and stealth is so well done that I found myself not really minding the outdated (yet colorful) graphics engine. The enemy AI contirbutes heavily to the gameplay. They'd always duck and hide or call for backup and it made it well...challenging, not that that's a bad thing. All in all it's a great game that goes right on up there next to the FPS hall-of-famers.

Summary: One of the best computer games EVER.
Review: This game blew me away in almost every aspect. The graphics, while choppy, are great, the action is intense, and best of all, it's actually ENJOYABLE (even the codes are humourus), with a great story (the awsome ending), humor (evil handpuppet: 'nuff said), and one of the best scripts ever (second only to the Final Fantasies). And to think, all of the aforementioned were done by ONE PERSON. That alone makes the game worthy of accolades. BUY THIS GAME NOW!

Summary: One of the best of the year
Review: In few words, Nolf is one of the best games I ever played. Great graphics, great sound and the game have a history that sit you down for a while tying to advance all the game. Maybe the game needs a lot of resources from your PC, but who cares...

You'll find levels with different difficults and missions to do, with great scenarios and different enemies. A real spy game in the 60's.

To finish, you only need to buy this game and help Cate Archer to save the world, and the space too.

Summary: Wild and Wacky Action game.. a bit too Wacky?
Review: It's no secret that I am not a fan of action gaming. Action games bore me, unless they are multi player games (Unreal Tournament or Tribes2). However this game is different. It's typical in it's action gaming, but untypically it has an excellent story line. The Cutscenes in this game, if all put together could make a rather hilarious movie. The online gaming element isn't bad at all, either. The vehicle riding is quite fun, and though it's not Tribes2.. it's certainly not boring either. I did find myself getting bored of the action in the middle, but that's just me. I wanted to complete this game to check out every cutscene. See the sexy archer, working her way through a man's world. HAHA If I did not know better, I'd say this game was made by feminists. The only low, I can think of for this game is, that the game is so wacky it takes away from the coolness of the action. Mixing comedy and hardcore action is not easy, but this game does it's best.
