Summary: A pleasing game
Review: To get the bad stuff out of the way, the graphics suck. Someone forgot the anti-aliasing when they did the game. It's full of jagged ends. The game is easy for an adult (it's really a kids game), but the easiness is fun. I played the game for 6 hours one day. It's kind of addicting. I just wish the graphic were better.

Summary: Not all video cards supported
Review: The game comes with a list of supported video cards printed on the box. When I found out my card was not supported, the manufacturer asked me to send them my opened copy of the game so they could send me a new shrink wrapped copy to send to Amazon in order to get a refund!

Summary: Captivating, because it's just plain FUN!
Review: I confess, I bought this for my kids, and now I play it as much as they do. I had no intention of playing it, but just being in the room while they played was fun. Every time Harry casts "Flipendo", my wife and I would call out "Nintendo". Harry would cast "Rictusempra" and we would call back "Rick December". Before long, I was at the computer and the kids were teaching me how to play, and yelling "Nintendo" at me.

I don't play a lot of games, so I can't review this compared to all the other PC games out there. What I do know is that, much like the Harry Potter books, this game is fun and entertaining. It mostly leads you where to go, yet there are neat surprises for looking around on your own, too. You can always go to the wizard dueling, flying practice, or repeat challenges for fun. In any case, the graphics are pretty clear, and the spoken words are all subtitled, so even if they aren't clear, you read them. The motion is mostly intuitive and feels realistic. Some of the sounds are odd, though, with Harry grunting and groaning everytime he jumps, lands, or climbs. Still, even when it may or may not be realistic, it's funny!

I think the game is pretty good for critical thinking, as several times one of us has gotten stuck, and had to try to figure out how to move forward. Getting Harry out of the Slytherin common room, after the potion wore off and he morphed back from Goyle to Harry, was one example. My son and I got there in different ways, and it took us a while to figure the way back out.

One weakness that I've noticed is the method in which the games are saved. There are only six "slots" for saving them, which seems a bit lacking (why not an infinite number?). More pointedly, though, is that the slots are simply numbered, with no way (at least, none obvious to me) to identify which is which other than by the number. We've used all six slots, and have a hard time remembering which is which. My wife wants to start playing the game now, too, and one of the games will have to be overwritten -- I hope it's not mine!

Bottom line: it's fun. I play this more than I play The Sims -- a game I bought for myself. Naturally, my son, who has conquered the Chamber of Secrets several times, plays this Sims more. But still, even having "won" HP:CoS, he still plays it again and again.

Summary: Okay Game
Review: This game is pretty good, but it pales in comparison to the first game. In the first game, the music had a definate magical twist, but the music in this game just sounds like a normal platform game. Madam Pomfrey's room is a specific example of this. When the music is reused, however, it sounds great.
There are some improvements in this game, like the fact that the characters' mouths move, and that the spells now chase down hte object it's being cast upon. Even so, it wasn't really fun to play like the first game, when something new was added to make it harder, like sneaking past Filch, or having to catch the flying key like a Snitch. but the second game doesn't do anything like that. It just adds spiders or Fire Crabs to make that part harder. Even the baskilisk was ridiculously easy to beat. Even the cheat codes aren't fun anymore; on the first game, my sister and I had hours of fun playing with a Super Jump code, but there isn't any such thing here.
Harry Potter II is an okay game, and I would definetely recommend it to play, but compared to it's prequel, it just doesn't work.

Summary: Horror!!!
Review: Don't buy this game for PC. First of all the graphics are so bad you would think you play some 90's 3D game.If you have PS2, then buy it for PS2. The game really much better made, in terms of graphics and storyline. Well the only people who can really enjoy it is 12 and under year old kids.

Summary: Exciting and Adventurous
Review: I had the Sourcer's stone on ps1 and found that fairly good, so last christmas I took the oppurtunity to ask for the 2nd one. I dedcided to get the computer game as opposed to the Playstation game. I found the game extremely exciting, and although some parts were different to the book, it didnt worry me. The game pulls you into the wizardry world and you can attend classes, visit the hospital ward, annoy Filch the caretaker or explore the whole of Hogwarts. The graphics are much better than the first and the different scenes take no where near as long as it either. I would strongly recommend this game to anyone who sometimes finds themself wishing of being in the Harry Potter world. It is not the same of course, but its probably the closest thing you can get.

Summary: If you like Harry Potter....
Review: If you enjoy the Harry Potter books then I say this game is a must. It is not a FPS or anything of the sort, it is an exploration game and puts you right into the Hogwarts school. I found it very enjoyable and it adds a dimension to the books, that without the game, you will not perceive.

For the price, and the Potter fan, a good buy.

Summary: GATHER AROUND HARRY POTTER FANS
Review: This is the best game ever!! Even though I bought this gme a long time ago I love it. Me and my sister (Johanna - 19 yrs old)play it for hours. It is very exciting. I some times get scared.I thought it was really cool with all the secrets and challenges (and going into the girls bathroom). Sometimes I kept dying, so I had to try again.(That made me quicker)This game is more unique than the first, it is more open, you can go outside and play Quidicth and re-do challenges and duel (you couldn't do that in the first game)whenever you want to!!!! I still love the first game, even though I can't beat it, but I win the second game.(how pathetic) So everyone should buy it. Com'on people my 19yr old sister liked it!!!!!!!

Summary: Wonderful game.
Review: I would give this game 5 stars but it is hard to get a full 5 star rating for any game unless it's absolutely 1000% perfect. This game is a lot more enjoyable than I had expected. The story in the game is very close to the movie. I am glad I bought the game. A definite game for any Harry Potter fans. I just wish I could master Quidditch!
