Review: This game is as good as tehy come. Sure, there are games that have better engines, or better graphics, but the game play is unsurpasable. THis game can keep you occupied for hours on end. And what is the best part is that it comes with arguably the best online multiplayer game ever: Team Fortress Classic. Oh my god. TFC supplies endless hours of fun at sleep overs, parties, and anytime you feel like eating up some time. Unfortunately, i am sad to say, that lately TFC has been spoiled by cheaters and new players who think it is fun to run around and use only grenades regardless of whether or not they survive. So unless you organize a bunch of frineds onto a specific server and play there, you can find yourself wishing you played with a real gun and that the newbies were real too. To counter act this, i recommend playing Counter-Strike, because it is the greatest game. EVER. But CS dosn't have a single player. So, get the original for amazing single player missions and a very good online engine. THen get CS for unblieveable multiplayer fun. In fact, just tonight, i was up till 5 playing CS, and then my Dad came down to go to work and i freaked out cuz i only thought it was midnight. Trust me, both these games are addicitng. Buy both, you won't be sorry.

Summary: Best Game Ever...Still!
Review: I was initially blown away with the single player experience, but that was over three years ago. But I can still play it every day because of all the great and free multiplayer mods that you can download such as TFC, and Counter-Strike. Its the game that keeps giving!!

Summary: Out of this world
Review: Half-Life is incredible. The story keeps pulling you along to see how it will all end. And with the incredible enemy AI and fantastic level design, it's utterly addictive! I like it so much because there are so many memorable scenes in the story. I played this game once before, but never finished it. Now that I'm playing thru again, I remember battles that were particulary viscious - Killing the monstrosity in the Blast Pit - having head crabs jump on you in the blackness of the tiny air shafts - fighting the soldiers as they lob grenades and work as a team - the ride on the railcar - ascending the nuclear core using the portals - ....

The game is HUGE as well - I've put in at least 2 or 3 all day/night gaming sessions, but I'm just now getting to the big build-up towards the end. I highly recommend this game and it is definitely deserving of all the 40+ awards it has received since it's release in 98.

Now if I could just figure out how to configure the level editor, WorldCraft 2.0, I think I would enjoy trying my hand at level design. I've never messed with level editors before, but WorldCraft looks and sounds like it's fairly intuitive (if I was a techie, I would have already figured it out).

Summary: Great single player, but even better multiplayer
Review: I still play Half-Life after 2 years, and I certainly don't predict I will stop any time soon. You've all heard of the singleplayer game, but the collection of mods currently out there and still in development rival any other action game out there. In a recent article by GameSpy, it was also noted that there are more Half-Life multiplayer games played each day than Quake 3, Tribes, and Unreal COMBINED. If you just want a quick and easy multiplayer fix, Team Fortress 1.5 is for you (by the way, the new update has just added new player models for all of the different classes you can play). If you want bristling action that'll make your hair stand on end, then Counter-Strike is for you. The sheer adrenaline rush of assaulting an opposing team made up of real players and also doing it with lightning military precision is unmatched. You can also use Roger Wilco to chat with your friends or give radio commands while you play, which adds more realism. If you want to extend your singleplayer experience, there are new episodes coming out all of the time, as well as two distinguished series from Neil Manke, and some total conversions. There are dozens of new multiplayer maps coming out each week which you can check out at various online sites which have a huge community where you can communicate through forums, e-mail, etc... it's endless. For a start, you can try planethalflife.com, a great resource for everything Half-Life. In short, you don't know what you're missing if you don't already own this game. Play the game that has more players than all of the other action games combined. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Best Adventure Game of All Time
Review: That is simply how to put it. This game had me jump, stiffle screams, yelp, and yes, even get adrenaline rushes. Your paranoid, only three rounds left in the chamber as you scale the ladder above the toxic waste pit. As you reach the zenith, you find a corcodile like alien, that isn't excited to see you. Your three shots do plenty of damage, yet it's still alive and kicking, so you resort to your crowbar...

All of this and more in stunning 3D graphics, a must for any serious gamer.

Summary: Whoa...
Review: In Half-Life, you play Gordon Freeman, a scientist working for the government in the Black Mesa Research Facility. During an experiment envolving a strange alien crystal, somthing goes horribly wrong, and you are knocked unconscious. You awake to find yourself in a badly damaged test chamber, you walk outside and you find your collegues dead. From here on, its you, and maybe a surviving security gaurd or two, against an ARMY of other-dimensional aliens... That is the basic premise for Half-life but there is more to the plot, and i do not want to spoil it for you, so i will not say anymore about it. Half-life is a first person shooter, and a gory one at that, so kiddies, turn away...although im 12 and i had no problem whatsoever with it. This game is the best. It not only has single player goodness, but multi player to back it up. About single player : The artifical intelligence is frigteningly realistic, and the graphics are excellent, especially for a game using the Quake 2 engine. Multi-Player is good too, the net code is solid as a rock, and the mods out there are great. TFC is a plus too, it is a very addictive mod made by the creators of Half-life that has differnt classes of characters. Most of the TFC maps are Capture the Flag, or variants of capture the flag. But there is one, called Hunted, it is awesome. You escort the president to a certain point on the map, trying to protect him from deadly assasins... As far as i can tell, half-life has no flaws, and is the best game i have ever played. I hope this review helps those in need of a good game, but i assure you, it is the best out there of yet. Now Valve...about TF2...

Summary: Half-Life is a game no gamer should be without!
Review: Dear Gaming Public,
Half-life is more then a game it's a legend. You can't chat with FPS players over the net for 5 minutes without hearing the name mentioned.
There are quite a few games that come to mind that have [stinky] single players and a good multiplayer. Half-life is like that. Personally I think that the single player campaigns are just gory and tasteless. It's just a huge blood feast and is really just... stupid. I get no satisfaction whatever from blowing the head off a giant [crud] or an alien with a laser pistol. People I've talked to say that later, when the solders start using strategy and teaming up, is when it gets fun. To be truthful I must admit that I haven't finished the single player. That's not to say I haven't put in some quality gaming hours, so be warned, don't try the single player unless your willing to muck through the first few hours of tasteless, boring, and altogether pointless violence. If you're interested in the single player moad I suggest the new James Bond game, 007 Nightfire, I've head great things about it.
What's fun about Half Life, and the reason I gave it 5 stars is the multiplayer. Even though it's a couple of years old, there is still no game that even begins to rival it, except perhaps Halo for xbox. Everything is just great about over the net play with this game. From the weapons to the levels to the different moads to play (like death match and capture the flag for example.)
The other cool think about over the net plat is the ability to create your own maps. What I find the most satisfying in this game is playing in my own creations. You can add hills, bunkers, tripwires, or anything else to fit your playing style.
This game is the best of the best. No one can truthfully call them self's a FPS gamer without spending 100+ hours playing this game. I urge anyone with a net connection to buy this game. It will undoubtedly be the best buy of your life considering the endless hours of enjoyment it will give you. Just be careful to finish your essays first, or after a 24 hour gaming section you'll get an F. I very much hope that any players of Bond or Quake arena will take the next step towards the fulfillment of gaming experience.
So I conclude, GET THIS GAME, it is the bomb of all FPS's. I am very surprised that it has only won 40 or so awards.

Summary: Much better than Unreal or Quake 2
Review: Half Life is a very stunning game. Everything about it is just awesome. Remember the part in Unreal when you could hear screaming behind a door and you don't know what's going on? Remember how that frightened you? Well, up that one, because this game is more frightening because it's more realistic (because of the wonderful A.I.), and because you don't know what's going on behind the scenes most of the time. All you'll notice is the screaming sounds, or the gore coming out of the vents, or some mysterious guy walking around. Every minute of this game is pure bliss.

One of the most wonderful parts that truly stuck out for me was watching the team of commandos outside trying to flush me out. Some would hide behind boxes, while others would throw gernades into my hiding spot. What's so spectacular about that is the fact that 'their' backup would just bomb the whole place, just to make sure I was dead! That was a truly fightening experience, not knowing where the bombs would land, or where an enemy would hide.

Buy this game, please..
