Summary: Sweeeeeeet!
Review: This game is a blast! A must-get for any Sims player.

Summary: Just as addictive as before
Review: I have every expansion pack on the market the first day it is out. Why you ask?? Well, because this game is the most addictive I have ever played. I start at 3 PM and play til 2 Am thinking that only about an hour has gone by.

This particular expansion pack is great. There are so many new objects, skins, and house tools. The best part, though, is going to Vacation Island. There, you can do anything from play arcade games for the sims with high fun ratings or fish for the lazier sims. Also, you can stay in the ritziest hotel or a tent on the ground. You can choose from three different types of areas--Snowy mountain area, sandy beach area, or the woodsy forest area. Whether you are wining and dining and dancing or having a picnic, Vacation Island is the place to be for your sims.

Also, while you are on Vacation Island, you can win tickets by playing the carnival midway games. You can trade these tickets in for a souveneir. This is cool because when you go back home, you can put it on a souvenier shelf. (that is just one of the many new items in Vacation). When you are on Vacation Island, you can even send postcards to your friends so you can keep your relationship score with them up. Oh, and if you can keep every family members' mood up in the green, you get an extra-special souveneir to place on your shelf for all the world (or at least any sim who visits your houe) to admire.

However, there is on disadvantage--you might be a bit groggy at work or school the next day if you play this game. This is because you lost sleep and are addicted.

I give this expansion pack five stars. I hope that this review encouraged you to try it, because if you love The Sims, you'll love it.

Summary: Don't Waste your money!
Review: From what I have seen of this expansion pack, its OK, but I have not seen much since IT TAKES 5 MIN TO LOAD! It is brutally slow, and since the system requirement is a P2 300mhz, it should not take 5 min on an AMD 1ghz! (I also tried it on AMD's 1.8ghz, and it was still annoyingly slow) I shudder to imagine what this might run like on a P2! I was so annoyed by this whole game that I actually deleted it and started my game over from scratch and reinstalled all of my expansion packs! Other users of this game do not seem to have so much of a problem with this particular expansion pack, though, so it may just be me!

Summary: A Worthy Expansion
Review: Finally an expansion pack that is worthy of The Sims (the greatest game of all time). Vacation brings life back into The Sims in a huge way!!! I couldn't even estimate the amount of hours that my girlfriend and I have spent playing The Sims over the past couple of years. I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed in Hot Date simply because I think that I was expecting more than it actually delivered. Vacation, however brings all of the expansions together and makes the game more fun than ever before!!! I absolutely love taking the family "out of town" for the weekend. The new objects also make for incredible building opportunities or simple add-ons.
Obviously I am a fan of The Sims and do have all of the expansions for the game. The special thing about Vacation is that it opens up such a wide variety of activities for your sims. I personally like the snowboarding and snowball fights, where my girlfriend can go metal detecting for days (in Sims time). The cloning options are also practically endless for all of the people who like to create their own objects. All in all I think that Vacation is the best expansion since Livin' Large. Of all of the pros to this particular expansion, I have personally found only one con, and that is the load time. I have noticed that since I installed Vacation, my game loads considerably slower than it had before. For this reason alone, I gave the game four satrs instead of five. I highly recommend this expansion to anyone who likes The Sims.

Summary: great fun - but SUPER SLOW to load
Review: We have all of the expansion packs except for Hot Date and my kids and I agree that this is the most fun one. The only problem we have is the length of time it takes to load - 30 to 40 minutes ! I have a brand new computer - pentium 4 with 512 mg. RAM and it still takes what seems like FOREVER ! That is the biggest disappointment - so I suggest you get it started - go eat dinner or something - and then maybe it will be loaded by the time you are done.

Summary: Wow sounds fun, hears what I heard
Review: The Sims Vacation pack sounds like a avrg. of 3 to 4 stars. You can take your Sims family on vaction from places to The Beach, The Mountins, or A Winter Wonder Land! What sounds cool to me is that you DONT have to delete your family like the other expantions -not hot date-. There are also more things to do with your kid sims, like get a escomo? jaket!
In all I give this a GREAT gratitude...I WILL LOVE THIS GAME! (I havent played this yet :))

Summary: Sooooooooo slooooooooooooow.
Review: I used to play The Sims a lot. I loved Living Large, I loved House Party, and I loved Hot Date. This, however, doesn't seem like much of an expansion pack. There's a couple of new things to do, but I'd rather that they just added those activities to Hot Date's downtown area. Sure, you can take the kids along on vacation, which is great, but again, they could have just added this feature to Hot Date's downtown instead.

I've gone from playing The Sims regularly to playing it hardly at all, as it just runs far too slowly. I have a Pentium 3, and it takes five minutes to start-up. That doesn't sound like a long time, but sit and watch your clock for five minutes, and you'll get the idea. It's painful.

Once you're in the game, there's still more, and more, and more waiting. Seriously, I'm stuck spending more time waiting for things to load than I am playing the game.

Maybe this is for you if you've got a Pentium 4. If you've got anything slower, don't waste your time. It's fun for a while, then the vacation area becomes boring, and the loading time will start to drive you mad.

Summary: great game a must buy
Review: this game is great. the vacation island area is really cool esspecally the edit your own lot. there is a new grill, hot tub, and you can get buffet tables which is a 24/7 open food source but kinda expensive taking 100 dollars to fill then like 20 to eat off of but still no hasle cooking. dont try it but buy it. you only need the sims nothing else to load.
