Summary: Great, But it Takes Up Too Much Space!
Review: I tried this game at my friend's house, and loved it! But now, I'm getting it and found that it takes up a whopping 700 MG! I've uninstalled just about EVERYTHING on the whole computer, but I just can't get enough space freed up!

Summary: The sims is fun
Review: If you thought that Hot Date was fun, wait till you play Vacation! You can now build so many things, it is hard to explain. You have to play to find out how fun and exciting this game is. It has over 100 new objects, new wall paper, the whole works. This game is the best out of all the sims!

Summary: Good but not as good as the Others
Review: Sims Vacation is loads of fun, but does not have the creativity and mindboggling things to do that The Sims Hot Date or The Sims Livin' Large had. They were so entertaining because everything you clicked on had an activity while with The Sims Vacation, you are limited to what you can and cannot do. And there are not as much variety in the clothing, things you can buy, or the activities. Don't get me wrong, The Sims, all The Sims, are my favorite games in the world, but this one just didn't impress me as much. I can't wait for the next one though!

Summary: The Ultimate Vacation
Review: This game is one of the BEST games that anyone has ever made. If you like to controll people, make them do things that you might not do, you'll love this amazing, spectacular game! It filled my luminescent room with amazing music, and powerful pics, but most of all, it tore my blood-shot eyes away from the EVIL TV. Now, instead of filling my days with the stupid; not fun TV, I am frolicing in my room, with the nonchalant; Sims!
I have all the expansion packs, and this is my favorite software ever!

Summary: Loads of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This game is really a blast. I don't own any other expansion packs for The Sims, so I can't say if this game is the best out of the other "packs", but I'm guessing it would be. In the game, your Sims go to Vacation Island and get a choice of a camp site, a beach resort or a winter wonderland. Each site has objects you can't buy in buy mode, like bathroom stalls, cash registers and half pipes. I had heard that you can't play the original The Sims when you have an expansion and I was worried I would lose all my houses and families. But, when you install The Sims Vacation it copies your houses and families onto the game. I definitely recommend this game.

Summary: Me like Sims. Sims fun. Sims good.
Review: Sims vacation is O.K. It could be I was expecting a lot more from it. I personally think it could have been better... but I still love the sims anyway so,whoever doesn't have Sims Vacation is a loser and should be flogged in our center square. Oh yeah, If Will Wright sees this I want to say you are a genius. I am not worthy. Peace out.

Summary: The Expansion Pack Downfall
Review: I found this the worst sims expansion pack out of all 4 of them. When I was going to buy it, I thought that finnaly the new expansion pack is here and i'm so lucky! When I sticked it in my CD drive I had alot of fun! Yet after a week it became a little...well, boring. The having the make hotels and resorts took too long, you couldn't save when you invited a guest, and you can't make 2 families stay at the same resort. Yet it was still fun with the new objects, like the volleyball net, the new jacoosee and the carnival games. Yet I still preferred hot date, which is much better. I never stopped playing Hot Date till I got Vacation. Bottom Line : Worth buying, but not worth going crazy.

Summary: SiMs fOrEvEr~!!!
Review: Okay, everyone knows that once you start playing this game, you're hooked. I remember playing this game from 6 pm to 6 am and making it to school.. and that was just the SIMS way before the expansion packs.
From all the vacation packs, I personally like vacation the most because it allowed the game to come one step closer to the perfection that i wanted. I mean, who wants a crabby sim who works everyday of the week if there even is a week. it's annoying to answer the phone and see that gloomy message about how your sim missed work. Also, the creativity of the vacation place itself is mind-boggling. a tent?? an igloo? it's incredible.
Of course there's a limit in every game, and sims still has a few more steps to go before overcoming it. first of all, the whole concept is too similar to hot date. other than the fact that the interactions while on vacation is a degree different from what you do downtown, it's not as diverse as you expect when buying the expansion pack. also i never had that much fun at the pre-built vacation sites so always make my own. there needs to be a clearer distinction between one that is luxurious and one that is economical.
But then again, these can be overlooked by going to the Sims Exchange. that is definitely the best part of this game. any questions? any downloads? go to the sims exchange. it is probably the best feature of this game that no other has.

Summary: Rush the Release, Suffer the Problems...
Review: Let me first say that I love the Sims. I own every expansion pack. I was thrilled with each and every one of them. Until Vacation. Don't get me wrong, it's a GREAT idea. And when the game actually WORKS (which is rare), it is a lot of fun.

However, Vacation has been anything but. It has been nothing but a headache from the second I installed it. It has increased the game load time from 3 minutes to more than 15. That's right, just to start the game, 15 minutes. To move between neighborhoods it sometimes takes as long as 5 minutes. In addition to this absolutely ridiculous load time for game and neighborhood, it crashes. ALL THE TIME. With no real reason for it. Even running the game in a window so that I will see the error when it crashes was no help, as the error it is throwing is so vague that EA's own tech support people couldn't figure out what was happening. ("Sims has caused an error in Sims.exe")

In addition to suffering through all of the problems with the game, I had to suffer EA's terrible technical support, which until Vacation, I had been thankfully spared. The first person I spoke to, known only as "Support 43", was completely incompetent and rude. I had to ask 3 times to get the problem escaladed, and then it was only with threatening to go public with the problem. Finally someone with an actual name contacted me and he worked incredibly hard to solve the problem. But in the end, all he could say was he didn't know why it kept crashing, and he had done all the troubleshooting he knew how to do (which included uninstalling/reinstalling multiple times, running the game in a window so that all errors would be visible, and removing all custom objects, walls, floors, and skins).

I think it all comes down to the fact that they didn't allow themselves sufficient time for testing on multiple environments. They released Hot Date in November or December and Vacation in March. How much time could they possibly have had for full regression testing? Several of the people from the BBSs have said that they have run into similar problems. Almost everyone noticed the remarkably lengthened load time and time to change neighborhoods (although this number varies based on how many customer files you have).

My advice: Wait until they have released a patch or two before you buy it. For me, I have uninstalled and I am waiting patiently for said patch before I will reinstall.
