Summary: Best Review Ever!!
Review: I played Sim City 3000 in school. Me and my classmates loved the game! We all have contests to see who could get the biggest town, with the most people. When I asked my mom for it, she suprised me with Sim City 4. I was so happy! But when I began playing, I noticed that it was not a very good game. It was very hard to get a population of 1000, even when going in super speed, When zoning, the streets were made for you, landmarks start at about $30,000, raising taxs is confusing, and "Budget Grim" is always going off, even when taking a loan of $100,000. So I suggest you buy Sim City 3. No ofence to the makers of Sims' stuff, but I think they made a mistake with Sim City 4.

Summary: Quite Good
Review: A good improvment the graphics are amazing, but they have pretty much given the same idea as before aside from all the high tech stuff its still the same as 3000 unlimted was. They should make more obstsacles and keep having more detail in home and bussineses like in the Sims.

Summary: difficult, but good graphics
Review: this game has extremely good graphics, but i never got far enough to experience it, the game is far to difficult to get a solid city formed. after an hour growth stops even when u have neighboring cities. it is difficult to provide all of the necessary things your sims need, funding is extremely expensive for sturctures, and people seem to have difficulty getting jobs even though u have zoned industrial have transportation connections to it and all the other necessary things, u can get really high wealth people in your city quite quickly but they than leave very quickly as there are no jobs and ur city goes to ruins, the neigboring city interplay is a unique feature an could be enjoyable but it is to difficuly to balance the many cities as u need to save and go to the other city every 10 minutes because growth has stunted in your current city. overall i didnt like the game my computer could barely handle the graphics, i had the most fun making the maps, they should consider just using it as a map making program

Summary: Unlike Everyone Else
Review: Unlike everyone eslse, I have some major issues with the new SimCity4. True, the graphics are amazing and I haven't had
*any* pc problems running it on an Athlon 2500 with 256mb using Windows 2000 and a Radeon Video card with 32Mb of ram; but it's the features of the game that I have trouble with. The most disturbing change is the disasters. Instead of random disasters you now have to point and click where you want the disasters to occur and then guide the disaster across the terrain in a certain direction. If you were like me, you picked a certain house to live in (which you can do in the game) and then let the disasters roll in a random order and waited to see if your house would withstand all the turmoil. Instead of disasters in SimCity4, they should have just implemented a giant bull dozer since it's basically the same thing.

The next thing I'm upset about is the use of cheats codes. In the pervious versions you could create a city from SCRATCH placing everything where you wanted it to go even down to the type of building and grassy lot. Not in SimCity 4 or at least not in the cheat codes I've seen. You are FORCED to play their senario and build the type of city the GAME creates. You do have the choice of architectural style, but no more building a city from the ground up. Not only that, but the money cheat gives you 1000 Simoleans at a time and you have to repeatedly type in Weaknesspays 100 millions times just to get any type of positive cash flow. This is rediculous. Why even have a money cheat at all.

The most irritating thing about the new SimCity4 is that it is another example of a software company controlling their product and how it is used by the consumer. When I pay 40.00 for a video game, I want to play it the way -I- want to play it, build what -I- want to build and run it the way -I- want to run it and **NOT** the way the manufacturer tells me I have to. I hope Maxis keeps this in mind for any upcoming upgrades or expansion packs.

Summary: Extremly challenging, but fun
Review: Simcity 4 is by far the most challenging game Ive ever played. It took restarting my city neary ten times to actually get a propering city that actutally made money on its own. Its worth the time though, when you get your city to around 500,000 or so citizens, you really start seeing the cool residential and commercial buildings. The biggest problem I encounter is the constant no job sign that pops up in my residential districts even when I have compatible commercial jobs to match the income level right next door. Overall I think this game is worth all the frustrations and time.

Summary: I hate it.
Review: I've tried playing this game many, many times. I can never stay in a positive cash flow situation. I love every Sim Game out there except this one. I gave it 2 stars because I love being able to zoom in so close and see all the people running around. Especially when I got a statue to me!

Summary: Newest SimCity Sequel is Next Generation Quality
Review: SimCity 4 continues with what has been good in the SimCity line, and has gone to the next level in many areas to make playing the game an even more enriching and in-depth experience. Graphics and animations are top-notch and up to date to the current standards, so that many computer systems will need to be upgraded just to support minimum requirements. The benefits are in a very beautiful look, much more detail, and the ability to zoom in to the size of a few squares.

Also new is region play. Each game is no longer limited to one city, but a region of dozens of cities built by the player. The interactions between the cities are more important than ever. Sims will be able to move from one to the other, or even commute between cities, as long as there are connections. Resources can also be sold and bought between cities, as in SimCity 3000.

Being able to live in your city from the perspective of the sims themselves is also new to the game. Your sims will have a job, a home, and have to meet the needs that all the other sims share. Listening to their concerns and compliments gives you an inside perspective that can help manage your sims.

Summary: Could never get off the ground
Review: This is overall a great game, but is kinda hard. I could never get my city off the ground, even with doing the same things the manual told me to do. Word from word. It seems that the game just didn't do as the manual or EA games had predicted. I am actually pretty sure that those screenshots are CGI. I did the expansion pack, and that made it more fun, but the same problem. I do recomend this game, but for the stragety game tipe, and ndot the space sim player that I am.

Summary: Impossible!
Review: I bought this game, expecting it to be as fun and exciting as my Simcity 3000 Unlimited. Boy was I wrong! Unlike SC3000, anything you build costs money to maintain. Even the water pumps. Its impossible to keep your money in a positive balance. I never play that game anymore because its sooo impossible to play. I can't believe my boyfriend wasted 50 bucks on it for me!

Summary: SimCity IV
Review: I loved Simcity 2000 which is the best of the series. Simcity 4 is not as good or easy as 2k but much better than 3k. In Sc4 you play the mayor and design the city. At first you built a power plant, a water pump and put some low industrial, low commercial and low residential zones. People will start comming to your city. You have to remember things like, People do not like to live near a factory, They like to live near parks. Put more parks and you get more people. Make sure that people are happy and paying their taxes. There are a very few changes. The best thing is that now you choose a city from a large country map and you can be the mayor for neighbour cities too. Another good thing is now you can charge different taxes for people living in high, medium or low zones. I have Win98SE, P4 2.4Ghz, 512mb Ram and a GeforceFx. I did not face any problems and runs great. Sc4 has beautifull graphics and excellent music. The disaster graphics are the best. Lightning, Volcano, Tornado and meteor are beautifully done. If you loved Sc2k or Sc3k and have a good system get Simcity 4 you will love it.
