Summary: The Future of Modern Combat Simulations
Review: Although the game has a few annoying bugs at the time of the release, the game is graphically stunning, good flight models, complex AI behaviour, detailed avionics and you get not 1 but 5 distinctly different aircraft to fly. No other modern jet sim of this complexity and detail gives you this. Its the future of modern combat simulations.

I would have given it 5 stars except that it loses a star because you really need to mess around with your system and game settings to get decent frame-rates. Its a shame because i fear this product will lose many would-be fans because of this.

I suggest to stick with it, read the 'read-me' file, download the latest patch and head-over to the official forums to get any problems resolved.

ITS WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!

Summary: Don't Buy it ! It Doesn't run with Win98SE or WinME..POS
Review: Well, what can be said for a product as buggy and ill prepared for release as this one is ? Don't buy it, it won't work at all for many of you and theres 100's of bugs for those of you lucky enough to have it run at all.

If you are willing to let yourself be a guinea pig for your $40 and finish developing their half-baked software, then you won't be disappointed. Otherwise stay away.

It really is cynical for them to release this just to catch the holiday buying season when it isn't even fit for purpose.

Summary: Lock On: Must Buy
Review: The sim is incredible. From the start, you have a combined total of 8 flyable aircraft from the USAF, Luftwaffe, and Russia. A resurgent Russia makes a bid to reunite the old Soviet empire and annexes half of the Crimea Penninsula. USAF F-15 and A-10 and Luftwaffe MiG-29 squadrons are called in to deter the oncoming threat. The AI in this game is very smart. They will use doppler notch tactics to avoid radar detection and actually hide in valleys and behind mountains to ambush or evade detection. The graphics and sounds speak for themselves, obviously the best ever seen in a flight sim. The gameplay is challenging and fun, and the avionics were created with the consultation of real fighter pilots so you can ensure that this is a fidelity simulation.

BEST FLIGHT SIM EVER

Summary: Simply amazing!!!
Review: This game is by far the most beautifull game i've ever seen, on cutting edge hardware you'll get a good 25-40 fps which is great for a flight sim.

Gameplay is great, sweet avionics, tough AI, advanced radar systems for each plane, and awesome weather conditions make for seriously imersive gameplay. This game isn't for the casual gamer, and it does have a few small bugs, but for the experienced simmer this is a gem.

Thank you ED!!!

Summary: Not Recommended, Not Fun, Too Many Bugs
Review: First off, the box says Win98SE compatible, yet LOMAC does NOT work on Win98SE for me and for everybody else that I have read on the flight sim forums. It is inconceivable that it was released like this. I also have a XP multi-boot which it does run on. Now for the really bad news. This game has so many bugs, it will be a LONG time before humpty dumpty is fixed and when 6 Ghz machines exist (see below). No dynamic campaign and No printed manual included either. The .pdf manual on disk is poor which is why this game has a steep learning curve. I have a high end 3.2Ghz, 512MB, MSI GeForce 5900 256MB machine and the frame rates stink. The best I get is 20-25fps (at medium detail!!) with little air activity, so those with mid or low end machines best forget this game! There are much better flight sims than LOMAC made in the past 5 years that work, are fun, run great, so I suggest to all to stick with those.

Summary: Great Sim, but I can't recommend it now
Review: Well, the game was just released. This is a 5 star Sim, but there are lots of bugs right now. On a very positive note, their web based support group is excellent. What is really cool is if you are not the type to have 4 weeks to get the sim 300 keys down, you can "dumb it up" a bit. still real tough, but plays a bit more arcade like for those in the Novalogic F-22 Lighnight 3 arcade gamer, but with far superior graphics and real avionics even when "dumbed up". Support these guys, they are very talented. Look for a patch shortly. When it comes out, this will rate 6 stars. It is for the die hard sim fan that has been waiting so long for a great sim, and an arcade type, that wants to push it a little more past the days of Novalogic F-16 MRF, Mig29, and F22 Arcade style. It will still be tough, but not nearly as bad as it could be. It is a step up. If you flew the Novalogic series, itn't it time to step up a bit? For value... as you get better, you can turn off some of the auto-mode and it is like a new game, without having to spend a dime more.

If you look at the support site right now, give it is BRAND new (like 1 week), there will be bugs in such complex software. Watch the site for the patch announcements then buy away. It will be a LOOONG time before anything this good comes again!

Summary: Lomac Excellent Game With a Very High Learning Curve
Review: I love this game. Graphics are amazing. Game was 3 years in the making. They are still in the process of ironing out some bugs. The patch will be out soon enough. Plenty of things to do in the sim though until the patch comes out.

But be forwarned this is a high fidelity flight sim. It has very high system hardware requirements and a very high learning curve. And you need to patiently learn how to fly. Probabbly will take you 6 months at 3 hours a day to learn everything in this sim. This sim is not suited for kids. Adults only who have the patience to visit the lock on online forum every day and ask questions in a nice way. Don't be rude or you will be banned from the forum.

My personal congrats to the Eagle Dynamics Team and UBI on a wonderful sim that breaks new ground. I love the effort they put into this game.

If you just want a shootem up flight sim this is not your game.

If you want to be a fighter pilot and fly in an online squadron that takes alot of your free time this is your sim.

Be forewarned this sim could make you get a divorce, lose your job, fail out of school, and lose your friends. It is very addictive.

Summary: A wonderful flight sim!
Review: I have a P4 2.4 ghz machine with Windows XP, 1 GB of ram and a Radeon 9700 pro. I have the demo configured with most settings (terrain, scenery, shadows, etc.) on high while some are set to medium. I have been able to get smooth gameplay with 30 to 50 fps (frames per second), which is very decent considering that the demo that everyone here is talking about is several builds older than the full version. The flight models, physics, special effects, sounds...it's all superb. The level of detail in all aspects of the simulation is amazing. While the program is demanding, it is certainly not too much for most mainstream computers these days, and it is years ahead of anything else on the market now.

Summary: this is just a review of their ftp site
Review: I haven't finished downloading this game yet but their FTP site is really slow. And can only handle 325 connections. Thus the link from the web site to download it didn't work, I had to go and get it the old way G.I. Joe Style. And even now I'm only getting about 30-40K down stream. [GROAN] However the screen shots look really cool.
