Rating: Summary: Two Words - Simply Awesome! Review: Once I got Hot Date up and running, I tried to figure out how I lived without it! Livin' Large added on some cool stuff, but Hot Date added loads of awesome interactives! Not only were new career tracks and objects added, but we got a whole new world! Interact with the new NPCs called townies that live downtown, buy gifts to give from The Sims to a diamond ring, try out new social interactions, and more. You even have fun when in build and buy, too. You now have a whole downtown to build up and tear down! Make anything from a disco club to a fancy 5-Star restaurant, and you still will have time to come up with a name and description for your place. Also, you gotta love the skins. There are more types of kisses besides polite and passionate, and you get to choose which kiss you want your Sim to give. There's peck (on cheek), suave (on hand), romantic (french kiss), and fiery (you'll have to find out for yourself!). There's also more hugs such as intimate (close and long), leap into arms (self-explanitory), and romantic (extremely close and long). There's so much social interactions, they have to be sub-categorized!
Rating: Summary: The best Sims expansion yet! Review: The Sims was my favorite computer game. I got it as a gift for Christmas, Livin' Large that February, and House Party that May. I was completely hooked. I played it at every chance I got. But come House Party, I was let down..and I didn't play the Sims again until yesterday, when my dad brought home The Sims: Hot Date. This has renewed my siming experience. You go downtown, meet a "Townie" (a non-player-character who lives downtown), ask them out, shower them with gifts, dine, kiss, and perhaps come home with a new partner in life! It adds so many new social interactions, from the "Extreme Tickle" to the "Entertain with Puppet" to the "Fiery kiss". The Love Tub, swing, picnic basket, etc. add a more romantic element to the Sims-something that hadn't played that big of a role in the original game. The only let down was that kids can't go downtown, and the Townies sometime come out with odd outfits-randomly chosen heads and skins from your collection. For example, I got a Townie with a Santa Claus head and a biker body! But this can be fixed with programs that can be downloaded on the 'net. All in all, this is a game not to be missed by any Sims fan.
Rating: Summary: A good start to expanding The Sims Review: I had the Deluxe Edition for about a year before I decided to buy an expansion. I purchased this one a few months ago because it had the downtown part to it. Finally, a way to get your Sims out of the house and to design restuarants and shops. I admit that this pack can get boring. I mean, how many times do you need to see your Sims go out to eat and buy clothes? However, there are other fun interactions that make your characters even more fun than if left without an expansion pack, especially the relationship/lifetime friendship bars for everyone in the neighborhood. Knowing about the other packs out there, this is a great starter. After using it for three months, I'm not tired of it, but I do look forward to buying an additional pack.
Rating: Summary: The good and the bad Review: This expansion pack adds a lot more to the game than the previous two and, combined with the other two, makes for an amazing and full gameplay experience. The addition of the downtown lots gives your Sims a kind of second life and a new way to meet friends or hang out with old buddies. The new social interactions--and there are a LOT of them--add tons of humor and COOL to an already very slick title. Want to send your sims to a nightclub to dance the night away and watch DJ Z Buffer spin? Want to hang out in a bar and play pool? Want to hang out by the pinball machines and meet new people? Or have a picnic? Or take a date downtown to try on some new lingerie? You can do all this and more. This expansion delivers at least as much as it promised. It's hilarious, it's engaging, it's a hell of a lot of fun. But it's also broken. When you install Hot Date (if your CD-ROM drive can even read the disc), certain items from Livin' Large (if you have it) will disappear completely, Sims will get stuck sitting on the couch, Sims will forget to go to work, any music playing downtown will become garbled, the game will crash or fail to recognize the CD, and a number of other glitches, major and minor, will have you pulling your hair out. You definitely want to get this expansion, but you should keep your eye on The Sims web site and wait until there is a patch announced. It's incredibly frustrating to see the promise of a good game but be basically unable to play. I wish they hadn't rushed it out the door because now I feel like I'm still waiting for it to come out, even after I've bought it.
Rating: Summary: Definitely a neccessity for the Sim Gamer! Review: Another expansion pack to the highly loved game The Sims. The Hot Date version is probabaly one of the best, focusing on a point of high interest in most people-Romance, not to mention kinky foreplay ;) With this new expansion pack, gamers not only control and run the home lives of their sims, but also their social lives. What could be more fun!? Visit Downtown, a new world in which sims can explore all sorts of stores, from formal wear and lingerie to chocolates and video games. Introduce your sims to tons of "townies," new sims, especially created for dating. Pros: 1.Expanded social options, including asking questions, such as "How is work?" ("Leap into arms," "play footsie," "check out") 2.125+ new items including coffee tables and romantic hot tubs. 3.Downtown neighborhood is full of colorful characters, hotdog stands and snazzy restaurants. 4.Tons of new heads and skins (femme fatale, blonde bombshell, dream boat) Cons: I couldn't find any!!! There is so much fun to have in this game its scary. You can dine out with your sweetheart and makeout right there in the booth! You can even create your own downtown buildings designed specifically for what you want to sell. Make it a bar or a ritzy club or even just an ice cream and hot dog food court. (WARNING: Sims behave differently while under the influence of alcohol :D Its most entertaining) I was not disappointed with my purchase of this game. It was just how I expected it to be and I play it for hours. You truly will not be disappointed. Also, be sure to have the 1st Sims before purchasing Hot Date. This is only an expansion pack. The 1st game is needed to play. Windows 95/98 is required.
Rating: Summary: SIMS IS GREAT Review: I love the game, especially since I'm now rich beyond all dreams, mainly because I kill all my husbands -by drowning them in the pool right after the wedding, when they've brought in the $20,000. This way I can stop working, and buy all the luxury goods I want. When I'm running out of funds, I just woo & marry another (hapless) guy!! I have an entire cemetery in the backyard (nicely tended to by a gardener), and if it gets overcrowded, I sell the extra gravestones for $5.00. Sometimes I'll have a baby with one of my husbands, for that purpose he is allowed to live a little longer. When the kid goes on my nerves, in to the pool....(remove the ladder, and your Sims drowns!! They must be really stupid...) How's that for "real" life??
Rating: Summary: Hot Date--the pros and the cons Review: No doubt about, this is the most drastic change to come along to The Sims yet. Your Sims lives will never be the same again. The Pros: There are more objects, wallpapers, floors, trees, faces, etc. The new interactions among the sims are the main reason to buy this expansion pack. Their interactions have become more realistic (When was the last time you hugged someone five times in a row and became their friend?). This realism can be challenging but fun. I've heard many people say that their downtown area is slow. Though I loaded the game onto my system, which doesn't exactly meet the requirements, I don't have any trouble with the speed of the game. Your sims can buy new pajamas, swim wear, and formal attire downtown. I've noticed that my sims walk faster. That's a definite bonus for larger homes. When you place your cursor over a sim, a small square with their name in it appears. The Cons: You can take only one sim downtown at a time and you can control only one sim at a time. Any user created windows or doors that you downloaded will not minimize. I have to click through the windows. There is no clicking through the doors. Even though I downloaded the Hot Date patch, I still experience occasional crashes when my sims buy new clothes or when they change clothes at home. Also since the installation, I've had trouble with my build mode items being mixed up. I've lost the use of the majority of my stairs. When I click on them, they appear as windows. Whether you choose to buy the game is up to you. I have to say that despite the bugs, I still love the game. I've had many a fun hour achieving the perfect date.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT GAME Review: I know my sims im an expert (...)and ive been playing the sims ever since i was 4. so i know my stuff this is one of the best expantions yet!(...) play it youll not be dissapointed!(...) i love this game! im waiting for the sims 2 to come out youll see my review under kerry person!(...)
Rating: Summary: Watch the sparks fly or fizzle.... Review: I just bought Hot Date yesterday...and it is a MUST buy for all SIMS fans. It is by far the most fun and enjoyable expansion pack ever made for the PC classic. You're no longer limited to just the house and work..because now the Sims can go Downtown. If you don't like the areas they provide for you..you can add what ever kind of shop or restaraunt..or whatever you want. This game comes with 125+ new objects, and a bunch of new and cool skins. There are only a few minor glitches in this game. Sometimes my Sim or its date freeze and its kinda annoying..but it rarely happens. I took advice from other messages and turned the graphics all the way down on low..and it works great. I heard that Hot Date slowed down your computer a lot...but I guess it just depends on what kind of comp you have. When I first installed it, it took a few minutes to go downtown..but now you I don't even have to wait!! I give this game the highest recommendation ever!! BUY BUY BUY!!
Rating: Summary: Great game! Review: I like this game. I mean, a bit a' lag is nothing to stop u guys from buying this game! 100000000000000/10
