Summary: IT IS NOT A GAME !
Review: IF WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE MICROSOFT VERSION OF FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2004 ; I HAVE THE FOLLOWING REMARKS:

FIRST ,YOU MUST KNOW THAT I HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE IN NAVIGATION ,( MARINE & AVIATION ) ,I HAVE READ LOTS & LOTS ABOUT FYING , EVEN TOOK A COUSE FOR A PRIVATE PILOT .

THIS MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR , IS NOT A GAME , IT IS VERTUALLY FLYING AN AIRCRAFT AS REAL AS IT CAN GET ON A PC.

YOU HAVE TO HAVE A GOOD BACKGROUND & I THINK IT IS MOST INTERESTING FOR THOSE WHO STARTED LONG AGO BY PURCHASEING AND WORKING ON THE FLIGHT SIMULATOR BY MICROSOFT FROM THE FIRST EDITION & UP , I HAVE ALL THE THREE VERSIONS , BUT DID NOT YET PURCHASE THE 2002, I READ A LOT ABOUT IT , KNOW THAT IT IS MORE DETAILED , WITH MORE AIRPORT APTIONS , BETTER GRAPHICS , ECT..

I WILL BUYING IT SOON , BUT I RE PHRASE IT IS NOT A SIMPLE GAME , IT IS A PROFFESSIONAL SIMULATOR OF REAL A FLIGHT

Summary: it can be better.
Review: I enjoy the Flight Simulator to much, But when I can go to Multiplayer SesiĆ³n, have problems, else if you like to flight "on Line", with VATSIM, I have problems, for the other hand, de ATC, is ok, and the scenary and Whethers is much better.

Summary: not bad but I expected more
Review: Running the 4th CD is easily overcome by a crack file freely available on the net. ATC intereaction is always a plus.

Summary: 4 stars primarily for computer reasons
Review: The potential detail is great. It's nice to see my local hometown airport I worked at have similar buildings:) Even the powerlines at the end of the approach of 29. I have a cheapo K7sem V3.0c (can't upgrade prosessor) running a Duron 1200 which converts to about 900mhz chip speed. I have a tough to deal with SiS 315 video card with 64mb Sdram:( memory. and a 60GB harddrive. Harddrives are so big now a days it's is nice to install the entire game on disk. I have 750mb of Pc 100/133 RAM. It is good enough to run the graphics at about half way with 10fps. So not digitally smooth. But I like that they are desinging programs that make use of the most powerful systems, and then it keeps me wanting more hardware toys..I know it is frustrating that I cannot run full graphics. But the detail is the best I have seen it so far. It even has little signs on the interstates.. It would be great to get a 'super system' to run everything at full with 40 fps. But thats a money issue. I would say 2 gigs of high peformance DDR memory, a top AMD or Pentium processor, that 9600 video card with 256mb or 512mb when it comes out. A SCSI hardrive at 15,000rpm or a master bus(wrong lango) 10,000 rpm Harddrive would allow fast data transfer to the components to increase frame rate and detail loading. In the future, when we see pentium 5's and faster stuff, Here are improvments I still want to see in the game. Every area in the US (mabe world) have photo realistc scenery from satilite information, thus it would allow autogen scenery to me more accurate with buldings. Bodies of water to appear more translucent and glassy. Roads that actually have markings, and every highway and street should be included. By overlaying a GPS map into the scenery. They have done a better job with the weather and clouds look realistic, but we need better thunderstorms yet, supercells, lightning that is also in cloud, hail, and more frightning looking (because your not really supposed to fly in them right he he he) but now you can still take a cessna through a thunderstorm on here and be ok. So those are my suggestions...they have come along way since flight sim 4 so you cannot always expect the world yet with every new update. But I am sure when flight sim 2010 comes out, It will have these features. :)

Summary: What is a great PC....what's really needed PC or programing?
Review: Microsoft states the system requirments on the package (are these wrong?)(450mhz,1.8GB HD,Windows 2000/XP etc.) After buying 2004, I find it slow and troublesome. On a 1.8Ghz P4, 256 RAM 40GB HD, it should run like a dream. I am really suprised at the poor quality and graphics. The selection of planes is good, but my comuputer has locked up twice since loading 2004. I have Combat Flight Sim 2 and it is great. I went looking for Combat Sim 3 and found 2004, I may try to take it back, for a swap out....yep its'that bad.

Summary: Marginally better the FS2K2
Review: I resisted purchasing this latest release until I read a few months of reviews. As has been stated by a few others, if you do not own FS2K2 go ahead and purchase this. For someone who is using FS2K2 with addon aircraft, scenery, etc, this is not such a sure thing. Most improvements are in scenery and clouds, ATC is also somewhat improved. A tricked out FS2K2 does just about the same. Microsoft did not put much effort into this latest upgrade IMHO. I would expect the next version to be the big push, and it might be worth waiting for that version. After I installed Century of Flight, I found myself still using FS2K2 using my addons. So buyer beware if you already are an experienced flight simmer.

Summary: Sweeeeeeeeeeeet Graphics
Review: When I installed this game all I could say was WOW!!!! The graphics are unblevable. There are so many aircraft its great. I think it is the best of MFS series. But there is 1 thing they should have put in the game and that was The "Spruse Goose" . Overall it was the best game I ever bought.

Summary: Truely is as real as it gets
Review: It is an amazing game, the realism is truely noticed on high res monitors. It is fun because it is ones chance to fly a plane and not die when the mess up landing. It is, though, a hard drive space eater, and requires very high system requirements to run at high. Amazing game, lot of fun.
