Summary: Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark
Review: This expansions truly brings out the best of Neverwinter Nights. The levels have an epic and satisfing feel, the gameplay is solid and fun and the many plot twists keep players on their toes. Many new features come with this expansion, such as six new prestige classes, many new monsters, new character customization options, skys in outdoor environments, wizard robes, five new tilesets, increased henchman interaction and an awsome 20+ hour campaign. The game has also had a slight increase in graphics, not earthshattering, but their nice. What Shadows of Undrentide did to streamline gameplay, Hordes of the Underdark does even better, making it an all around better gaming experience than the original. This expansion is well worth $30, I highly recommend it.

Summary: Worthy upgrade for Neverwinter Nights.
Review: This game is awesome, finally your character can brawl with the best of them. To the neverwinter fans, if you thought Shadows of Undrentide wasn't worth a purchase, this expansion will prove to you that missing out on all the new content is stupid. Personally, I thought Shadows of Udrentide kicked @$$ but to each his own opinion. Epic spells, feats and levels make this game a must buy if you bought the first Nevewinter. Tons of online content in the form of Mods is already available utilizing the expansion. The toolset has also recieved heafty additions in the form of tilesets, monster, scripting and armor.-Dungeon Masters rejoice. Theres more of everything but most important thing of all, the graphics are now better due to the 'sky boxes'(give the appearance of a sky in background) and the ability to move the camera right beside you. It feels almost like another game. I'll be playing this game for another year or so. Bioware really listens to the fans and it shows in spades.

Summary: Do NOT buy this defective expansion pack !!!!
Review: This game starts out great .. just like the original Neverwinter Nights and the first expansion pack ... Shadows of Undrentide.
However, about halfway through the game, the NWMain.exe file starts
corrupting and the game freezes and you can NOT go any further in the game. Check out Bioware's technical support website about this game ... thousands of player complaints. Bioware/Atari are aware of these bugs and are doing NOTHING about fixing them. Buy this game only if you want to be VERY disappointed halfwat through the game!

Summary: a power gamer's dream
Review: This is a review for Hoards only(it should say at the bottom referring to Hoards of Underdark version or something) Aside from the plot, thier is a bit too much power in this game. I prefer classic RPG's with heros, not gods to be the central character. If playing V P I recommend being as redundant as possible(for macho RPG purpose I pick a powerhouse Champion Paladin for riteiousness and spells with 6 fighter levels for devastating sword play (the HoU play guide has wimpy paladin characters with only 12 strenght. In PVP the more similar classes you stack together the more devastaing you are. a Rouge/CoT/fighter just won't cut it, you should be reduntant and pick three warrior classes, three mage classes or three thief classes. both for RPG purpose and Powergame purpose. It is incredibly advantagious. My CoT/Pal/Figh character can hit hard and acurate like a fighter, can heal like a Champ and can cast and resist like a paladin. WMaster, Fighter Barbarian works well with this too(use the cute Cleric as your healer and the Bard as your spell caster) The class system is great, however the demi-god status isn't. I don't play RPG's to be a god, I play Populous or Light/Dark to be a god. Baldur's Gate had this flaw. Other than that, it is a good romp in the Hellish Undermountain and Underdark. Epic battles against terrifying foes. Drizzt doesn't show up because he is already on the surface.

Summary: Excellent expansion
Review: This was a great expansion for the NWN series, easily making up for the so-so Shadows of Undretide, which offered zero challenge to a character that finished the original.

I purchased this very shortly after it came out, and did the immediate patch, and had zero game play issues, which is refreshing nowadays.

The storyline was good, the return of some characters was a pleasant surprise, and it definitely served up a decent challenge, while not being unbeatable. Like many RPGs, the final battle wasn't the hardest I encountered, but the overall game was good, and none of the puzzles were incredibly hard to overcome.

A definite keeper, with considerable replay value, as you try out other classes.

Summary: Great Expansion to an good game
Review: When Neverwinter Night first came out, it was not all what it was cracked up to. It took about a year of them patching the game up and plugging all the holes until they finally made a good game that shipped with a Great Module.

Hordes of the Underdark is a great expansion. Ton's of Detail, not overly huge areas, Good use of the game engine to tell the story, finally some fixes that everyone wanted to see and just a good game to sit down and play a few times though.

Finally doing something right.
