Summary: Good Game/Schit online play
Review: When I first got this game, I thought it was awesome. Single Player mode was fun, but it's all scripted. As soon as you cross a certain point characters will come out blazing and getting shot.

The AI isn't bad, but the enemy tanks all seem to magically know where you are. Which doesn't help considering they will kill you instantly with their machineguns or cannon.

Grenades are pure BS. Multi-play games are all about grenade spam. Everyone pulls out their grenades and throw them over buildings for over a 100 yards! Not good when people have the maps memorized. Grenades are underpowered. One has to land nearly on top of you for a kill, but since they have long fuses its rare that people are killed by them. When a grenade does kill someone in MP, you are cheered, because the nades are pure schit.

Sniping is a joke, but does take some skill if you're using the German weapons. You can point and click with American sniper rifles and kill someone if a small portion of flesh is exposed.
German weapons are insanley underpowered. Bunny hopping plagues the game. People can hide behind a picket fence and a .50 caliber bullet will not go through.

Summary: Best combat ever
Review: For a change you are not alone in your efforts against the axis powers. You are part of a team (hey like the real army). This time your army buddies actually know what they are doing, and you almost feel bad when you let them take the lead. While you arent forming bonds with these robots, they know their jobs and do them well enough to save your ass. This game rocks.

Summary: About 3.5 actually...
Review: First off, I would like to correct certain gamers who believe this is the best thing since sliced bread: It isn't. Sure, you work as a team. Well, not really. The AI is pretty bad, and even when someone is not shooting at you, you are getting damaged. Hrm. Also kind weird when you're on one side of a cement wall and you've cleared the area. Also, restarting the game when you shoot a teammate? How dumb is that? In WW II a fairly high percentage of the kills were from friendly fire. Live with it, it's true.
Now for the crosshair. A lot of people that I know say that it is very realistic the way your crosshair expands when you move. Well, actually it isn't. The good soldiers could move and snipe someone at the same time. It is just a distraction, in my opinion. Also, if you are playing an FPS for REALISM, you have some serious problems: I play them as a distraction from my life. In my opinion, if you want an FPS, buy MOH. The only positive of CoD is the fact that it has very nice weapons, which are very true to history. The M1A1 Carbine is a step up from the M1 Garand, which is true. Good job Activision, but you need some work.

Summary: Call of Duty is the future of WWII Gaming!
Review: Call of Duty is now the best WWII FPS out there! I am playing Call of Duty on an Alienware Gaming PC and it runs awesome! Now, I know most of you guys think that Call of Duty is so short. Well, it's only short if you play on the easiest difficulty and play 24/7. I mostly play on the weekends. And hey, I play on the second to hardest difficulty and I'm not even finished with the 1st Campaign yet! But, overall Call of Duty is awesome. This is a MUST for WWII FPS gamers!

Summary: Medal of honor Series has nothing on this.
Review: I was a tad disapointed with the MoH series. It had a ok storyline but it didn't have a great Replay value. When I first started playing Call of Duty I was like "...Wow...this is diffrent" on my radeon 9600 the people look so real. Even BEFORE I got the radeon they looked extremely nice. The gameplay is pretty good but it seems like the game is so short. On "hardest" mode or vetrean, the game adds some more realism. You can't poke your head over a brick wall from fear of getting killed in a one shot one kill. The AI was Good, unlike other games you could point at them and either click the fire button one or the melee button and they would give up their spot to you or get out of the way so they wouldn't get shot. The music had me trying in vain to hum along. Over all I think its one of the better World War Two games ever.

Summary: Very Well Done
Review: This game might just be the best first person shooter I have ever played. It is certainly up to the standards set by Medal of Honor. In fact, I would say that some of the levels are even more intense. In particular, the Russian campaign is not for the faint of heart.

I think it is fair to say that this game perfects the art of WW2 FPS games. There really isn't anything I would have done different if I made this game. Graphics are good. They have also paid attention to the sound, which makes the experience closer to a movie than it was in Medal of Honor. The scripting is great. So is the AI. In fact, this is the first game where I really thought that my squad-mates were of any help to me. Once or twice, one of them even picked up a hand granade that was thrown at us, and threw it back to the enemy before it exploded. Also, the save-game-system is great. You can save anywhere you want. Kudos to the developers.

On the downside, this is one of those games that makes you feel like you reached the end of the line. There certainly is a bit of a sense of sadness once you are through this game. It is just hard to imagine what's next. Better graphics? Maybe. But it isn't going to enhance gameplay very much. More intense battles? Hardly. Better scenarios? Not in a WW2 game, I don't think.

I am sure there will be better games, but I think as far as WW2 FPS games go, this is probably one of the last truely great ones that stand out. This is better than Medal of Honor, but not a huge leap forward. In fact, considering how old MOH is by now, then the improvement is surprisingly insignificant. Perhaps you might have even gotten more of a kick out of MOH when it originally released. I know I did.

Anyway: This is a great game. If you like first person shooters, you can not go wrong with this one.

Summary: different people have different perspectives?
Review: i didnt play much into the single player and dont really care to. i only had it for a few days and only played the single player to learn the controls. the multiplayer for it is really great! i want to borrow it back right now ><.. the sound is fine until.. someone throws a grenade. grenades play the same sound at the same volume no matter where they are thrown(as far as i can tell). someone could throw one across the room and you'll hear it rolling like its right by you. i have never been a fan of games like this - but i've never played them multiplayer either. its surprisingly better than the single player games ive played that are the medal of honor type. i saw a review saying there wasn't any strategy but.. i dont see what he means. its more strategic than the fps games i love like halo. but how much strategy can you EXPECT from a game where you run around shooting people? i also saw that the graphics were great. my standards must be too high or something because *I* didnt think the graphics were great .. at all.. im starting to reconsider because i recently played my old spec ops game for ps1 that i thought was boring before and.. it still is.. and the graphics are WAY worse than on call of duty and i was wishing they were better.

Overall - 5/5

Summary: Brought me back to PC gaming!
Review: Call of Duty brought me back to PC gaming! It's absolutely amazing. As long as you've got the hardware to run it, this game will be the best gaming experience you've ever had.
The graphics and gameplay are both absolutely amazing. On the surface, you might not think this game is any different from other WW II shooters, but it is. It consists of over 20 different missions from the American, British and Soviet point of view. You start out as Private Martin in the American army, and progress to play a private in the British and Soviet armies as well. This is where the game really stands out in allowing you to play several different missions on both the Eastern and Western fronts in Europe.
The enemy AI on even the easiest level is quite intelligent and will duck to avoid your shots, not simply stand there and allow you to mow them down. Your computer controlled teammates also I think are the most intelligent teammates I've seen in any game ever. This game blows every other WW II shooter away and will bring you back to PC gaming.
