Summary: Same old tired game
Review: While this game had decent scripted scenarios, this basically led to zero replay ability. Which wouldn't be so bad if the game were longer, but as it stands, the average completion time is about 10 hours or less. For my $50, this is by far not enough entertainment. And if you say that there is a bright side with the multi-player, I saw, play Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and you'll get a visually similar game, with tons of better game play. In the end, a game like Medal of Honor is much better than this, even if it is older. I was looking forward to the storming of Stalingrad level, and needless to say, it couldn't hold a candle to the Omaha beach invasion from MoHAA. There was nothing stellar about this game, nothing that made it stand out from the crowd at all. In some respects, the I found the story of RtCW much more intriguing, even if it was fiction. Call of Duty is the same tired formula of FPS's that everyone's used before, nothing new here.

Summary: BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I received this game for christmas last year AND I CANT STOP PLAYING IT! This game is so addictive, and when you beat all the missions in Single Player, you can kill ... in Multiplayer, too!

Summary: Call of Duty not quite a classic
Review: Ok first the good...COD is without a doubt the most realistic depiction of WWII infantry combat ever put into a FPS game! It puts you in the boots of an infantryman in USA, UK, and USSR armies and makes you glad you didn't have to participate!

Now the bad...as far as the claim on amazon.com that your squadmates individual personalities come out in the game, yes and no. Yes they have personalities (ie. dialogue and actions they perform in game). No they do not ultimately affect the outcome of the game and in fact their actions are HIGHLY HIGHLY scripted, meaning if you play this game 100 times, their responses will be 100 out of 100 the same! This leads to a tremendously thrilling FIRST experience, and more and more boring and tedious follow up experiences

Multiplayer...above average though it plays similarly to RTCW and MOH. Worth having if you are into that sort of thing, not missable if you aren't.

Summation...awesome SP experience the first time around, but you probably won't be playing this one over and over!!

Summary: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This game is amzing and I don't even have it. I downloaded the demo and I think I have beaten it 10 times! Once I get the money I'm going to buy it. The thing the sets it apart is you fight as a squad hat adds to the realism. I can't wait 4 call o duty your finest hour 4 console to come out too.

Summary: Fun enough to keep playing
Review: This game is very good and pretty i also enjoy it 4 times as much as HALO on pc not xbox. Becaus it is pretier and yet not as demanding now why is that?
Anyway back to the game. Game is very fast lots of bullets is used and you will feel like it is happenning to YOU, thats how i felt! Like many reviews said Russian campaing has that stalingrad mission where you have to go up in town under enemy fire and it is true the misson is beutifull as HELL i replayed it more than once. I also like U.S. campaing cause u get to use tommy gun which i think is alittle overpowered. And this brings me 2 wepons balance i think it has a flaw in that somewhere like rapid fire is to rapid! Also multiplayer is very standart and plain. Game realy needs headset fuunction built in so u can talk to your team instead of ussing those built in commands to who no one listens.
Those are very small problems what u get is intense shooting and satisfaction with each kill in the campaing. (Car scene will blow you away)

Summary: If you want a WWII simulation, this is it.
Review: I think that this is the most realistic of all WWII games I've played. The sound, the graphics, the gameplay... it really makes you feel like you're part of the game! That's hard to do in a game, but the developers did a great job. The AI is one of my favorite parts; you actually have to play with your team, especially in single player. In single player, for instance, your teammates will take cover, throw gernades, pick up extra ammo and sometimes give you some of their own ammo. The enemies are a bit stupid, but they're smart in the sense that if you shoot at them, they'll take cover and wait until you stop shooting and they think it's safe.

Summary: Amazing WWII Shooter
Review: One of the best games of 2003. Graphics are just stunning considering that they're using the Quake III engine. The playability and the feeling of comradely while playing the game is what I liked the most about this game. I especially like the multiplayer portion of the game. Online game play is the best and most fun when all your teammates play actually as a team and not solo Rambos. The game is designed pretty well to really bring out this teamwork.

Summary: One of the Best WWII Games
Review: I've read a few of the reviews on the CoD and I have this much to say about it: CoD is the best First Person Shooter WWII game out there. Here are my responses to some of the negative comments:
1) AI: CoD has more adaptive AI than anything I've seen. If you get killed and must restart from the last save, the enemies will attack you differently--a far cry from MoH.
2) Sound and Graphics: Again, awesome sound effects--especially musical scores. Ditto on graphics.
3) Difficulty Level: I kind of agree with many on the highly scripted nature of CoD; however, CoD provides graduated difficulty levels that will make you replay the game over and over again. It took me a while to finish the game at the most difficult setting--usually one shot killed me off, so this necessitated quick evasive moves.
4) Game Controls: I don't undertsand complaint about CoD not having "great game controls." For me inaccuracies of weapons along with simple compass makes the game play more real, bringing the "chaos of battle" alive.
5) My Recommendations for Expansions: a) Add more weapons. CoD lacked some crew-served weapons like bazookas and mortars. b) Give the option of outfitting your own guy. c) Add more missions to each of the campaigns. For example, dedicate a whole expansion on "The Bridge Too Far" aka the Operation Market Garden scenario, adding both 101st, 82nd, British Parachute/gliders, and of course Germans. Add missions that include massive troop/vehicle maneuvers where you are a part of a giant regimental (or even better, division) manuever. Add missions that begins before the D-Day--such as North African and Italian Campiagns, and even Dunkirk (primarily British delaying actions against the invading German Army).

Summary: Overrated
Review: I bought this game thinking it would be another Battlefield 1942. I was wrong though however. Like others have said, it is scripted. I wanted a game with unpredictable AI, and this game is very predictable. It reminds me of the James Bond games and there is even a high speed chase in this game which to me is stupid for a WWII game. I feel Activision is trying to cash in on the WWII FPS fad that is going on right now. This game is just a clone of the MOH:AA.

The only positive thing I liked about this game is the graphics.

Also the multiplayer sucks! The maps are very small and the guys run like they are always trying to do the russian dance of joy.

To sum this game up: very overrated!
