Review: I love this game!
MOHAA was my favorite shooting games until I played the demo of COD. As some reviewers said, it would be nice to have the German side experience. Also, it would be interesting to see how the multi-player vision going to look like.

be aware: if you are a student, don't play too hard during school days...... i failed a class last year by playing too much MOHAA.

Review: Is this 10 times better than MOH? No, actually, it's quite similar but with better graphics and sound. Great fun to play, as was MOH. I appreciate the attempt to get real but I have to admit that Wolfenstein was better with more interesting things going on and a lot of variety. This game is over very quickly. It feels like an expansion pack. I also don't feel very comfortable with skipping around from American, English and Russian. I guess it is an attempt to sell everywhere, but I prefer to stick with a character. I like the increased squad level combat. All in all a great game but too short. I hope the inevitable expansion pack (how many missions would that be?) comes out soon.

Summary: The Definitive WW2 FPS
Review: If you're looking for a far more rewarding and enjoyable experience than that "other single player WWII game", Medal of Honor, has to offer, Call of Duty is for you.

Three different "campaigns" await you, plus a bonus campaign which ties in the three different story lines. The first American campaign follows the popular Band of Brothers HBO miniseries, and includes parachuting into France on D-Day, being lost, and eventually assembling a makeshift crew to take down German AA guns. You'll also be a passenger in a roller coaster-like car ride, leaning out the window while the driver barrels around the countryside. The British campaign has you as a member of the special forces, sabotaging installations and escaping through car chases, rampaging on a german Battleship, and devastating an airfield.

My favorite, the Soviet campaign, lets you live through those harrowing and gruesome first 20 minutes of the "Enemy of the Gates" movie (newly recruited Soviet soldiers forced at gunpoint to become machinegun fodder during the battle of Stalingrad, trying to retake the city by numbers instead of any sort of strategy). Best experience was watching helplessly as your fellow soliders charged through the city ruins, only to be cut down by fortified German machinegunners... and gives you a thrill to find that perfect sniper spot and plug those gunners in the head. Eventually it lets you become an expert sniper and even a tank driver.

The single player experience is breathtaking, especially in EAX 3.0 and headphones. Graphics are gorgeous, sound effects are amazing, gameplay is a bit linear, but far less linear than the MOH series. Gone are those infuritating and pointlessly time consuming maze puzzles, the mine-maze puzzles, and sniper-maze puzzles. You have squad mates which you don't control, but help out and give you incentive to keep them alive. There are many weapons, different submachine guns, different rifles, etc. However, some of the more interesting weapons in the game are under utilized and only show up in a handful of scenarios, such as the BAR, MP44, M1, and Sten gun. More often than not you'll find yourself only needing a scoped rifle and German-captured MP40. There is no stealth option in any of the scenarios and I never once needed the provided melee attack.

My only complaint is the length of the game. At the medium difficulty level, it should only take an average FPS veteran five or six hours to complete it all. It was an awesome experience but left me wanting more.

Summary: Awesome Single Player but ...
Review: ok, its a great game. As the positive reviews already state, better than MOHAA.

I wish it had Single player with multiplayer maps and bots to practice. Also, why not let you play as the Germans? (afterall, WWII is over...)

I dislikethe review by the STUDENT...what? Played in one night? Guess no girlfriend, eh?

Review: This is a great game. Ten times better than "Medal of Honor." Great sound and graphics. Please people, if you are going to review this game PLAY THE WHOLE THING! You can't just review a game if you have only played one or two levels. YOU HAVE TO GO OUT AND BUY IT THEN PLAY THE WHOLE THING! I don't care about how good the demo was, crud! SO PLAY THE WHOLE THING! Thank you.....

Anyway, this game is very fun. If it freezes every time you play this game, then go to forums and find out what is wrong. It did this to me, so I had to install a new driver. It hasn't frozen yet.
Overall I give this game a 5/5.

P.S. Don't buy "Medal of Honor."

Summary: Not worth the money
Review: First of all my expectations of this game were high because i was under the impression that it was going to be exponentionally better than the moh series. It unfortunately was not, the graphics were no better and the game play was roughly the same. The whole "move as a squad" theme did not impress me as all it seemed to be was a method of spoon feeding you the mission. They would tell you to help up front or run this way or shoot that way like most other games would. Of course you stayed with your guys because they were an extra hand, an extra gun, in the fight and its better to fight in numbers but still they didnt exactly preform outflanking maneuvers or assisted me in taking down rooms and such as could have been. However, the ai for your squad was tweeked better than seemed in most games, they were not the blundering fools that tossed grenades a few feet and then wiped out half your team in the prosses. I will give the makers of COD one thing, the sound was beyond reproach. The cinematic feel that the scores of music gave the game was amazing. And the sound of the bullets and the mg42's gave the game a nice touch.

Now onto gameplay, I have not tried the multiplayer yet but the singleplayer is lacking. I bought the game yesterday, started it late last night and finished it just this evening. Mind you that i am a college student and i did have classes today, meals, a life, etc. so i didnt devote the whole day to the game. Which brings me to my final thought, i am a college student and money is pretty tight to say the least so 50 bucks for a game that lasted a few hours just isnt worth it.

Summary: Unbelievable Experience
Review: This is an awesome FPS. I played the whole thing, and this is not based on the demo. Visually it is outstanding. The bombed out cities are almost frighteningly real. The weapons all look and sound far better then any game I've seen. The german MG42 makes you want to duck. The missions you go on are also realistic. The missions are more like the ones a real grunt in WWII would actually encounter. For instance, one mission is to hold a bridge, and another is to actually take back red square in Stalingrad. This game does an excellent job if bringing what combat in WWII must have been like. It's more then Doom set in WWII, like MOH is. The game isn't especially difficult, but its not that easy. I played on the normal setting, and I was killed several times. Yes, it is scripted like every other FPS, so if that bothers you, don't get it. For the rest of us that don't like to complain about everything, this is awsome experience. It is far better then MOH. The only complaint I have is the missions seem to be too short, and the game isn't all that long. It took me about 10, maybe 11 hours to finish.

Review: This game rocks! If you like MOHAA, then you will love this game. It has all the great action that MOHAA has, but this time you have a squad to back you up in your efforts. I highly recomend that you add this game to your collection, or if this is your firs game, this is a good base for a WWII game stash. This is the best game I have ever played in my life and it blowes all the other games by it's amazing graphics and it's great story line. Get this game ASAP!
