Summary: Good game
Review: Critics say it's the best war game ever. I'd say if it was released 2 years ago, there's no doubt about it. With too many similarities with those mega hits released before, you won't be impressed easily. That doesn't mean I did not enjoy this game. I can't stop playing and I love almost every aspects of the game. The sequence design, graphic, and sound are outstanding and most important the multi-player mode is unbelievable smooth. I don't consider MOHAA a five star game and same as Wolfenstien. But I do think Hitman and Max Payne 5. So it probably just my personal preference.
The conclusion: go get this game and you won't regret!!

Summary: Exciting, albeit somewhat mindless, combat...
Review: As far as environment goes, the graphics and sounds are pretty amazing, and the feeling of being in battle, with all of the little details, is incredible. However, as a "squad" tactics game, I found the game to be a bit disappointing. I guess that I'm used to games like Operation Flashpoint and Ghost Recon, where you have real coordination with your squadmates. One really disappointing thing for me in this game is when someone in your squad is killed, another soldier immediately comes up from behind and replaces him. Also, it seems like all your squadmates are good for are laying down suppressive fire and killing enemy that are out in the open. Half the time, they just hold a line and fire aimlessly while waiting for you to kill all of the tough targets. Overall, if you're looking to pass the time with a game with excellent effects and somewhat arcade-style action, then I would highly recommend this game. If you're looking for "real" squad tactics, I'd say go with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series.

Summary: Call of Duty
Review: Very Good Realism in some of the sounds, graphics and the way some of the people go down (Having fought in a more recent war myself)but without the real pain and horror. It's a great way to vent after rush hour traffic.
The only part I didn't like was the truck chase, because my heart will give out one day from the difficulty (No matter what level setting)
The only thing I would change would be that once you have completed all of the games, you should have a choice as to which level you would like to play each scene at. I would like to play the Russian forces at more difficult levels, but I can't get past the doggone truck fight on the regularlevel.
This game could be even more graphic than what it portrays, but as a veteran I feel that it would only serve to glorify the real thing to teens that haven't been in a real war. When they found out the truth, they may become extremely disappointed about war as a means of solving national conflicts. The anti war euphimisms posted by the game mean nothing to a teenager who's hormones are gone amiss. It's a nice touch for the older ones like myself though.

Summary: For FPS Fans
Review: I read PC Gamer magazine and they've been hyping this game for months (makes you wonder if they get a kickback), and just gave it a 93% score.
So I picked it up at Microcenter where , btw, it can be had for twenty nine ninety nine.

Overall, it's a good game, but not great.
The sound is top notch. The graphics are variable. The textures are not that great, but the animation is pretty good. I echo other reviewers in saying that scenes/environs in the Russian campaign are amazing to behold, what with streams of soldiers advancing amidst explosions, bodies being tossed around, and bombed out buildings.
The gameplay though is disappointing. It is too linear for one thing. You pretty much go where they tell you. Doors that don't open the first time, might open later after you finish the next numbered objective. So that's a little lame. It's also rather short - about as short as Max Payne, but without the compelling story. This would have really bothered me had I payed the price best buy or amazon are asking.
The environments are not explorable. You can't jump over some low walls and some edges you are simply not allowed to jump off of , while other lethal falls you can jump down without damage.
The enemy AI is not great either. They use cover, but that's about it. They don't try to flank you nor use covering fire. Still, at other times, you hide in the shadows and try to use stealth yet they spot you from 500 yards off. AI really hasn't advanced much from Halflife.
But the game is still enjoyable enough - you really can't go wrong with a game where you shoot nazis. There are also a couple of missions where you're driven around in a vehicle being chased that are pretty fun. If you're a first person shooter fan then pick this up, otherwise wait for the price to come down.

Summary: Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE - Welcome to D-DAY!
Review: If you like war games - this is it! Compared to games like Medal of Honor, Battlefield 1942, etc., this game takes it. It is as photo-realistic as Medal of Honor with the added realism of "squad tactics" that are fantastic. I was literally freaked out by the realism of the D-Day invasion! Blood and guts everywhere... planes crashing into buildings... flak flying up into the clouds, mortars, body-parts flying everywhere... it was OVERLOAD! But that is what war is...

The Single-Player mode is the best... the game is worth it for that alone. If you don't like SP mode - then don't buy this game.. it's not a "quake" run and gun - you have to work with your squad and pay attention... or die...

The Multi-player mode I nickname "Call to Quake." It is basicaly like a huge doom server - with about as much fun... it becomes too chaotic with guys running all over like maniacs on steroids "running and gunning" everyone down... still, the MP is pretty exciting....

This game is worth the 50 bucks if you like War II games and are tired of MOH or BF1942...

Summary: Truly Amazing...
Review: This game is simply amazing. It is worth all 50 bucks and deserves all 5 stars. This new franchise, CoD, will contribute greatly to the WW2 genre and could possible be the best FPS ever made?!?!?!

Pros:
Gameplay: Intense and fast, there is so much action going on, you really can't pay attention to anything else other than that Nazi in front of you and your objective. Lagless...other than the Stalingrad level (just the beach part) this game delivers NO LAG whatsoever. Heck! I wouldn't be surprised if an old Windows 98 could run this thing smoothly. Glitchless..I have completed the game and have found almost no glitches.
Multiplayer: With large maps and quick action, the Multiplayer gameplay is probably the best I have seen ever since Day of Defeat and Counter-Strike. Also, the KillCam was probably the smartest improvement...which makes it a lot easier to get rid of Aimbot users, Wallhack Users, and Campers.
Graphics:The animation and graphics in CoD are amazing and utterly impressive. Call of Duty very much shows that the Quake III engine still has game. And I really love that shellshock effect as well..Very Nice.
Cons:
Hmm..Wow Only one Con..not much here.
Sound: If I wasn't comparing, sound would be listed in the Pros, because it is still very nice EarCandy. But since I want to be evil...I will compare. Let's face it. CoD may have beaten out MoH in everything else, but one thing. MoH's sound is so luscious and perfect..while CoD's is not. It is pretty good..but they could've done much better.
Hopes: Sound is improved....that's about it...
Conclusion: Well, What are you waiting for! Go buy Call of Duty NOW!

Summary: This is basically just CounterStrike
Review: This is a review for those who like Medal of Honor more than CounterStrike or Battlefield 1942. Superficially the Call of Duty single-player game is just like MOHAA and Spearhead. In fact superficially it is sometimes virtually identical - remember the snowy forest, the V2 rocket, shooting from the back of a truck, or the Russian march into Berlin. Of course the same people who made those games made this one, but I was surprised at how much was just a copy of the same levels in Medal of Honor. But the single-player is worse because the levels are even more linear and scripted, the sound is much poorer, and your teammates are useless.

Call of Duty multiplayer is nothing like Medal of Honor. The gameplay, weapons, shooting and physics are more of a copy of CounterStrike. In fact, it felt exactly like playing CounterStrike to me, which is why I don't like it as much as Medal of Honor. You get poor sounds, poor control of grenades and all your weapons, especially with no cross-hair. Everyone looks identical except for a blue or green splatch of color, you respawn right in the middle of enemies who can kill you instantly, etc. Call of Duty multiplayer felt like a beta version of a game, there are so many features left out.

If you didn't like Medal of Honor multiplayer, then save your money and get Halflife and download the CounterStrike mod.
Maybe the next version of Call of Duty will finally be better than Medal of Honor, but only for the single-play game.

Summary: An improvement on "Medal of Honor"
Review: Best WWII sim to date. Many of the people who worked on MoH worked on this title....and it shows!

Summary: Great Idea but only Fair Execution
Review: I loved MOHAA and I played the Spearhead expansion. Both of these games were excellent and I had fun. At times they were frustratingly difficult and I would yell and scream and turn the game off for a while because some levels were so hard. COD is an impressive game. The graphics and sound are ear and eye-popping. But I do not recommend going out and plunking down $45+ for this game. Here's why. The game is too heavily scripted. The levels I have played force you to travel along a preset path with pre-determined enemies and obsticals. This is like MOHAA but more restrictive. There are no doors to open, no alternate approaches and nothing like the open forest levels in MOHAA. I also can't stand how your buddys never die until they are scripted to die. I was conditioned by MOHAA to protect my squad because they made it easier for me to accomplish my mission and because in some missions their death would end the mission. You could keep an eye on them and tell how bad they were hurting by how they walked or if they had their helmet on. Sometimes they would beat you to the first aid and take it themselves to improve their health. In COD I watched in awe as my entire squad passed in front of a Mark IV tank as they passed in front the machinegun opened up and shot all of them. They grunted with the hits and kept walking 10 feet from the tank. That's pretty stupid. I soon learned to ignore my squad in COD. If they helped great if they died it was there time to go and nothing I did or didn't do made any difference. So all this talk about "teamwork" and being "part of a platoon" is only true in that other guys are fighting around you and shooting at the same things you are. Not very dynamic. It is still a good and fun game. It's just too easy and two narrowly constructed.

Summary: GREAT!
Review: Call of Duty is by far the BEST WW2 or any other war pc game so far. Actually I think it's better that Counter Strike. The maps, the graphics, the action is the best ever.
Better than Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor, Wolfenstein,Ghost Recon, Blackhawk Down, Rainbow Six 3, Tactical Ops, and all the others.
Activision should be proud that they have put out such a great grame. Thanks
