Summary: Six! No, ten stars!
Review: If you are a human being: Buy. This. Game.

If ever you wanted to taste World War II, this is your ticket there.

Missions are some of the best moments in any game, EVER, PERIOD.
This is the first game I've played that caught my Dad's, my Brother's, and my two Cousin's attention, and the first game that my Dad asked me to ask for as a christmas present.

When I beat the game I felt closer to WWII then any book or movie has ever got me, and reminds you of how we got here today.

This game should be played in history class at schools, it makes you appreciate Ol' Grampas storys in ways you've never thought about.

Game Of The Year. Easily.

Summary: WOW!
Review: Just finished it and it was truly top of the line excitement. It beats out MoH by a long shot (my opinion). The music was excellent. The graphics were great and I had absolutely no trouble with the program. It was quite life like and I highly recommend this to everyone who likes war games or shooters.

Highly recommended.

Summary: Amazing game, some tedious moments...
Review: I have to say, since the moment I installed the Dawnville demo I knew this game was special; I was right. I got it for X-MAS and I haven't stopped playing since.

The gameplay is fun and smooth, and the graphics, while not ultra-amazing-spectacular are excellent, but a little dated.
The sound is simply breath-taking; the best I've ever experienced, period.

Overall, this is a a great game to own, since it is fun, CHALLENGING, and doesnt need a mega powerful gaming rig to be run. I had no trouble playing it with my entry-medium level pc: pentium 4 1.7, 256 mb pc133 RAM, and a Geforce 2 440mx 64mb video card. I, however, would really like to get a new sound card and a new set of 5.1 or even 7.1 speakers ( currently I have a 2.0 speaker set, lol), because the sound is so thrilling and straight-forward amazing.

As all of you might know by now, the game is divided into 3 campaigns : American, British, and Russian. I'm currently finishing the Russian campaign, and I can tell you, it has been very CHALLENGING to get there ( I've been playing on "Regular" setting) .

The American campaign was very fun, spectacular, with lots of gun fighting. So far, this is the campaign that I've liked the most ( as a wholesome ). The British campaign starts with you defending a bridge from wave after wave of German counter-attacks. This mission was hard, challenging, and fun to play. Now this is where the tedious moments start happening over and over again. This is where the game drops down a notch from "AMAZING" to "MOH:AA Expansion Pack". During a couple of missions you are left for the most part of them, gunning Nazis on your own, with the typical "get this docs", "blow this up" objectives. The ship mission was particularly tedious, and really, it seemed like MOH:AA, or even the old Golden Eye : 007 for the N64....

Luckily the British missions were over, and the Russian campaign made its spectacular appearance with the re-take of the Red Plaza....OH MY GOD! What the OMAHA beach level was in MOH:AA, this mission is in COD. In one word: Epic. Very well designed and planned. I specially liked the part when u take the sniper rifle and pop german officers from the top of a building.

So far, the Russian campaign has been like being into the movie "Enemy at the Gates". The environments are tight in, with a lot of ruins, great for snipers.

As for the multiplayer part, there are many, many servers, but I haven't been able to fully enjoy it because I dont have broadband :(

Well, to finish up, I would like to say that this game is one of the best ones I've played in years, Even though it is a little short, it is FUN, CHALLENGING, and overall a GREAT GAME TO OWN.

I give it 4 1/2 stars, simply because of the British Commando Missions and the fact that it is too short.

Thank you, and merry Christmas.

Summary: Great WWII Shooter!
Review: If you're wondering whether or not to buy Call Of Duty for the PC, quit wondering and buy it! This game is AWESOME! It really shows the ferocity of WWII.

Graphics: 5 out of 5
Great graphics really bring this game to life! From the lush forests of France to the cold snow of Russia, the graphics don't miss a beat!

Sound: 5 out of 5
Excellent sound quality also brings this game to life. From the quiet of forests in France before the main parachute force comes, to the artillery explosions and machine guns mowing down soldiers at Stalingrad, it's all excellent. You really feel like you are there! I was diving for the floor it was so real.

Game Play: 5 out of 5
The game play in Call Of Duty is the icing on the cake. You have a whole bunch of weapons at your disposal (all realistically modeled) and your AI buddies and enemies aren't stupid. They lay down covering fire and can fend for themselves. Some say this game is too short, but that's only if you sit down and play it all afternoon. To play it once in a while really stretches out the game play and some levels make the play just a little bit longer (Stalingrad, I'm talking about you).

To sum it up in a few words, this game is great, and every FPS fan should have it. Go out and buy it today! You won't be disappointed!

Summary: Can Not Be Played
Review: This game requires a video card that is not in the Windows ME computer. This game can not evn be played on our computer. I think this is ridiculous! If I would have known this I would have never purchased it.

Summary: Based solely on a demo - top marks
Review: A very exciting one level demo that came as a freebie has got me totally hooked. The level sees you completing multiple, clearly outlined objectives as you hold a small town from Nazi onslaught. The atmosphere created by the graphics, voice acting and sound effects is very tense, and you can get blown away VERY quickly unless you become proficient with the many evasive tactics like peering round walls to fire off a few rounds, or lobbing a grenade over a wall when you see the Nazis jump over it. Some parts of the game seem scripted, for example, as soon as you walk past an invisible line, a tank will hove into view, but these often mean you can take stock, re-load, change weapons and take up the best position for the next attack.

One of the best things is the 'shell-shock' effect when a grenade goes off or a tank fires near you. For a few moments, the screen blurs, your pulse pounds in your ears and everything slows down. Then, with the whee-crack of a bullet pounding the wall near you, you're back to real time and scrambling for cover. Outstanding. I'll definitely be buying the full version.

Summary: Call of Duty Multiplayer Review
Review: The best WWII FPS you will see this year. Comments on COD Multiplayer:

Call of Duty multiplayer is the most fun you can have in front of your computer this year. Graphics/code/gameplay is like a supercharged Medal of Honor... much more realistic fighting. C.O.D. is actually more like a killer combat sim than a game.

The game's graphics are much improved over the MOH series, and the frame rate and smoothness of character movement are hugely improved, even though the Quake III engine is no longer cutting edge technology. There is no shortage of servers out there running Call of Duty, and plenty of them have excellent ping rates. Even in MP games with 50 (!) players, we experienced no lag or choppiness, running a 1.47Ghz Athlon with a 128MB G4. The game runs nearly flawlessly, with no crashes or dropouts (yet, anyway).

Environments are huge and wonderfully detailed, although there are still some glitches with clipping that, while not nearly as bad as Medal of Honor, could have been improved. There are about a dozen maps for multiplayer, from the expansive sniper hell of the Huertgen forest, to destroyed villages and of course the blasted winter cityscapes of the USSR.

In Multiplayer, the chaos of running street battle with dozens of players on both sides is just nuts. There is an uncanny feeling that while you aren't actually getting shot with real bullets, the game replicates the violence, confusion and chaos of actual combat. The "Kill Cam" is a devilishly entertaining feature, allowing a player to witness the last seconds of his online life through the viewpoint of the opponent who does him in. Death animations are a huge improvement over MOH, but not perfect...yet. Bullets slamming into concrete result in realistic geysers of dust, and kick up equally realistic rooster tails in the snow...Tracer rounds (including accurate rendition of trajectory) are satisfyingly real... Grenade explosions are bigger and better in every way. Panzerfausts cause large, impressive explosions, with lingering dust effects. Weapons of WWII are beautifully modelled in COD, from the M1 Garand and Moisin-Nagant sniper rifle to the BAR, MP40 and even the little-known FG42, a German automatic rifle similar to the BAR. Sounds in the game are incredibly well done - it's obvious the designers went to great lengths to model the sound environment accurately.

To say Call of Duty multiplayer is exciting is an incredible understatement. Trying desperately to gun down running Germans across the snowy streets of Stalingrad using a scoped Russian sniper rifle (all the while trying to avoid getting shot in return) has a thrilling quality that WWII FPS gamers will find absolutely addictive. Taking down running targets or other difficult shots (and succeeding) provides grim satisfaction of the first order. Unlike Medal of Honor, Call of Duty does integrate a red-mist effect when a bullet finds an enemy soldier, which is subtle yet at times almost sickeningly realistic.

Dislikes: Russian soldiers speak with accented English. This is puzzling, given the historical accuracy that was obviously given much attention in COD. Additionally, it would have been nice if the designers had programmed in some canned shouting/whistles/screaming of troops into the background noise -as it stands, much of the sound in Multiplayer is just constant shooting and grenade explosions (although that's probably most of what is heard in a real firefight anyway)- it would add to the realism to hear some of the other sounds of combat (i.e. soldiers)... That being said, preprogrammed vocal messages a la Medal of Honor are present and accounted for - it's just that most of the players in MP are too busy shooting or trying to avoid getting shot/blown up to spend much time talking. Another drawback - many COD online servers are infested with cheats. Let's hope that there is a fix for that in the making.

Other peeves: some of the bolt action rifles fire semi-automatically (??) and the view through the sniper scope is much restricted in COD, which was obviously done to more accurately simulate a real scope, but it is not as entertaining as the fuller-field scope view in MOH. A realistic touch is reticle wobble which improves as stance changes from standing, to crouching, to prone position.

We played Call of Duty multiplayer until 4 am the first night we had it. One can only imagine what the next generation of combat sims will be like if we can expect more and better games like Call of Duty. It looks gorgeous and gameplay is very, very good. Look forward to hour upon hour of totally enjoyable multiplayer action.

A word of advice for parents or younger players, this game is a pretty accurate simulation of WWII combat - it's violent in the extreme. (especially multiplayer) Just so you know that up front!

Summary: Best of the Best
Review: Currently this game is my favorite. It runs smooth as silk at least if you have the specs to run this game. I have Nvidia. If you have ATI Radeon, I suggest you go update your drivers to 3.10 or go back to 3.7. Also check out the support page at Activision.

This game is well executed: story, graphics, enemy AI and sometimes friendly AI (they get in the way sometimes), gameplay options, the music is perfect to set the mood, etc. My only gripe is the last 3 missions: too short yet great anyway.

One of the things I liked was the group feel versus fighting alone. You're not in charge so there's no micro management. Given there are times when you must go it alone and that's okay to bring a change of pace to the game. I sure hope they make an expansion soon. Yet I don't think I'll ever uninstall this game. It's staying in my hard drive.

Summary: Better than Medal of Honor
Review: Call of Duty is a lot of fun, and very challenging, infact it's right up there with Medal of Honor. I love playing this game, you can play as the Russians, the Brittish or the Americans.

This gaem gives you a real sense of what war was like for these 3 groups, and allows you to use their tactics to destroy the enemy.

Along with combat fighting you can drive tanks and other vehicles, it's all about killing the enemy in any way you can. It's also just a lot of fun to drive around in a Tank.

You also go around with troops and in groups, and they actually kill enemies. Unlike MoH where you have 1 or 2 companions that do nothign but make you an easy target.

The only pitfall of this game is the graphics, because they are kind of bland, i mean just the bear essentials. This is one area where MoH Tops it.

Overview:

Fun- 15/10 a lot of fun to play, and the other vehicles give it an extra zing.

Gameplay- 10/10 just like the MoH, only better.

Difficulty- 10/10 a lot of fun, and still challenging.

Graphics- 9/10 probably the weakest point of the whole game, it could be a whole lot better, and this game would be untouchable.

Overall-44/40

This game is a HEAP of fun to play. It's worth every penny.

TRY THIS GAME OUT.

Summary: Best WWII game in single player campaigns.
Review: This is the best game in single player. It has realistic enemies, allies and it has great graphics and sounds that will blow you away. Remember me, the guy who wrote about the demo, now I have the full version. By playing the demo, you can only know a little bit about the game. The full version has 24 missions and each mission was so intense and good. It will get you hooked from the first time you get your hands on your computer. You can;t stop playing. When I played on easy, I beat the game in one day. Now, hard was different. Anyway, the graphics on the highest settings are great. You can see details on every building and just like what one of the reviewer said, you can see the shinying in the water. The sound is just as great. The background sound makes it feel more realistic than other WWII games but not realistic as in real life. It still comes close. You're allies are interacting with you as you play through out the missions and the nervousness when you are advancing by yourself after your teammates are all dead. In advertisements and stuff, it says that "In War, No One Fights Alone" ,but They do make you fight alone in the Damp, Ship and few other missions. But I like that feeling of nervous. When you are in it, you want to get out of it quickly but after you finsh it, you are eager to play that same type of mission again and you feel good for finishing the mission. In the mission that I wanted to play so bad since I saw the PCgamers preview, Stalingrad was the only mission that was a little dissapointing but special. Only reason why I was a little dissapointed was because I couldn't shoot because I never got a gun. At the same time that mission seemed most realistic and good. In the boat, you see sequences and it's great. Some guy jumps off the boat because he's scared and he gets shot for jumping off the boat. I also like the fact that the missions were based on the facts. I recently read one of these WWII books and it said that Russians fought with no arms (guns) in Stalingrad because they lost most of their arms in previous battles. Back to the game, this game was just super amazing. The system requirments are important because if you want to feel that realism, you need at least Pentium 3 1.6GH, 512mb ram, and at least Geforce 3 or radeon 8500 and above to play it on highest settings. Only con was multiplayer which could have been better but wasn't as good as Day of Defeat or Battlefield. In one sentence, this game has the best WWII single player missions ever and this game is the game that got the closest to the real life WWII action. This game is must be owned by WWII gamers and possibly, any and all gamers. (I also recommend Medal of Honor series)
