Summary: The New Medal of Honor.
Review: I just recently played a new demo for Call of Duty. It is being developed by a team led by several people who worked on the very similar Medal of Honor series. The game is also being published by Activision, so it plays similarly to Castle Wolfenstein as well. However, while Medal of Honor tended to focus on simply playing by yourself in the field, Call of Duty emphasises teamwork. Throughout most of the game, you fight alongside your squadmates, which is very cool, and makes Call of Duty even more realistic than the Medal of Honor series. The sound was not phenomenal, and the graphics needed a MAJOR facelift, but by the time Call of Duty is released these small features should have been modified. I am a huge Medal of honor fan, so i am very excited for Call of Duty to come out later this year on the PC. Keep your eyes open for this one!

Summary: Not a bad game, not a great FPS
Review: The first thing I noticed about Call of Duty when I played the demo was the stunning graphics and effects. This game has some of the best andmost realistic graphics out there. And the sound quality is amazing. With surround sound, it really sounds like you're in the middle of WWII. And the graphics are amazing, especially during the latter part ofthe game when you're playing as a Russian officer. Some of the scenes that you're involved in seem more cinematic and like something you'd expect from a cut scene than actual gameplay. By the final mission, the music and effects got me so pumped up that I was ready to go out and enlist.That being said, actual gameplay isn't that great. If you're expecting a good First Person Shooter, I was a little dissapointed. The game pretty much amounts to the same thing over and over: finding enemies and shooting them. I noticed that there's a srategy guide available for this game. For the life of me, I don't know why, seeing as how there's no real strategy involved. The AI also isn't very well done. Every enemy can be shot easily if you simply use a sniper rifle and stay a little bit out of site. The aiming system and HUD isn't that great either. I haven't tried multiplayer, but wouldn't be too interested in it given the gameplay. For the most part, this is a great game to see how advanced graphics and computer games have come, and one I'd definately show off to my non gameplaying friends. But once the game was done, I had no real interest of re-visiting it.

Summary: My new addiction!
Review: I read about this game on the internet before I bought it and I thought it looked cool. I got it this Christmas and now I can't stop playing. It is the best fps (first person shooter) i have ever played. It has the best graphics, the most historically accurate weapons, and is the most realistic of all WWII games. And, not only is there a great (but kinda short) single player mode, but you can also play online with other people and your freinds. This game is a must for any video game fanatic.

Summary: Fun Polished Game but Nothing New for PC Gaming Vets
Review: WWII shooters have taken the PC gaming market by storm. With the huge success of titles such as Medal of Honor, Wolfenstein and Battlefield 1942, one more game saw fit to see its way into the competition - Call of Duty! If you'd like to know how Call of Duty plays, I have a quick question: Did you play Medal of Honor Allied Assault? If so, the same team of developers worked on Call of Duty so you may notice a striking resemblance in gameplay. Multiplayer is very similar with most servers dominated by single death objective matches so if you have a low attention span and don't like waiting for a game to end after your early death, I'd recommend a game like Wolfenstein instead where respawning is a normal routine in multiplayer. As usual, in order to play on the best maps, you'll need a high speed connection such as DSL or cable. If you're only purchasing Call of Duty for the singleplayer campaign, don't fret because the campaign is loads of fun and truly impressed me with some of the script sequences planned out for my virtual platoon buddies. Unlike Medal of Honor, you arrive via parachute (instead of storming the beaches) and combat centers around your platoon most of the game so there's always plenty of lieutenants barking orders and fellow privates forgetting to duck. Unfortunately, while the singleplayer campaign is fun, it's pretty short. It's not as long as other campaigns in games such as Medal of Honor and Half-Life. If you can't play online, my advice would be to wait for the price to drop because the singleplayer campaign will be over before you know it leaving you with nothing else to do. Overall, I enjoyed Call of Duty. I'm a WWII buff and a fan of PC first-person shooters, so this game was right up my alley but it probably didn't entertain me as long as other shooters. It has nothing to do with the game, it's a terrific product that I would recommend to any gamer, but because I played Medal of Honor and all its many expansions as well as other recent WWII shooters, Call of Duty really didn't bring anything new to the table.

Summary: Gameplay still rules..
Review: Call of Duty (CoD) is a true sequel to Medal of Honour: Allied Assault. If you have played MoHAA, you'd know that it is atmospheric and exhilarating. Who can forget the Omaha Beach level? If you think MoHAA is good, wait till you try CoD. There are 3 campaigns in CoD though you don't get to choose which to start first. You start as Private Martin (USA) and play through a few levels.. the most exciting for me is to hold a particular bridge from invasion. Later you play as Evans a British SAS. The 3rd campaign, the best I have seen by far, is playing as a Russian soldier. The Russian campaign is an exact depiction of one part from the movie "Enemy of the Gates". In the movie, the Russian troops fight to take back Starlingrad. Any Russians who retreated will be killed by their own soldiers. This was depicted exactly in one of the levels in CoD. Lots of soldiers swarming from the boat up the hills with just one gun and one ammo clip - almost like MoHAA's Omaha but more atmospheric and much more exciting. Graphics-wise, CoD uses Quake 3 engine. It is a bit dated as compared to the today's new generation graphics engine but in my opinion, the graphics served it purpose. I owned a Pentium 3 with Geforce 4 card and CoD runs like a dream. It is games like CoD (and recently, Max Payne 2) which convinced me that game content and gameplay are what matters most. Not the graphics! Some games have excellent graphics but lack content. These are the type of games I'd install and uninstall in less than 10 minutes. The world in CoD is so lifelike it's scary. The AI is excellent. Your team mates and enemies fight like real soldiers. Bullets flew all over the screen and you can see the traces of them .. or hear them - sometimes I had to "duck" in front of my PC just to avoid them - kinda silly but it shows how into the game I was. All in all, an excellent game!!! A definite must-get!

Review: I was worried when Call of Duty came out, because i was a big fan of the Battlefield: 1942 series. I bought this game, hoping that it would give me more to play in the genre of WWII games. It is truly a wonderful video game. It gets extremely intense. In the first level, you set up a beacon, then U.S. Paratroopers fall out of the sky, and all hell breaks loose. It has a truly great story line, and the sound is beautiful. But, the only problem i have is with the graphics. I will admit it, I dont have a supercomputer, (you dont need a supercomputer, either) I have a three year old Dell. But, the graphics on the intro are a bit iffy, the pixels are huge. And in the tutorial, the graphics arent as great as I had expected, with reading the reviews of the game in magazines, and all. But, as the game progresses, the graphics take a major step up, but then on the loading screens, the graphics arent too hot, though. If you like the world war two genre, then go ahead, this game isnt worth it. But if you dont love WWII games, then i would wait for the price to go down to about $30. (dont worry. Its worth the $50)

Up until now, if you mentioned the phrase 'World War Two combat game', there were only two possible responses - Medal of Honor and Battlefield 1942. But now, thanks to Activision, there's a new kid on the block, making the PC war-gaming fraternity leap up and down with excitement. The action is centred around many of the major and most bitterly-fought conflicts of the war, including the D-Day landings and the attacks on Stalingrad. You have the opportunity to fight as a British or American paratrooper and as a young Russian soldier conscripted into the Red Army. The closest you come to a solo mission is when you have to blow up the defences and generators of a repaired dam in the Ruhr Valley - the rest of the time you work as part of a tight-knit squad where each watches the back of the other. This is the beauty of this game. After each initial briefing you are immediately in the thick of the action and the way you support your comrades will determine the outcome of each mission. In one thrilling chase scene, for example, you specifically have to prevent a soldier from being killed before he can lay charges to blow up a bridge, by firing at trucks from the back of a speeding vehicle and then sniping at the survivors. It's all first-person action, which heightens the tension, and the graphics are so highly detailed that you can almost smell the enemy before you. Whether it's a muddy village in Normandy, a German stronghold in Austria, inside an enemy battleship or on the hard streets of Red Square, every effort is made to capture the authentic emotions of the real battles. Much of the success of this is due to the sound. If you are able to make full use of the 5.1 surround sound cranked up to the max, you will be overwhelmed by the non-stop cacophony of exploding mortars, pinging bullets, grinding tank tracks and rattling machine guns. You truly get a sense of the chaos of war as plans go out of the window and you constantly have to re-group and re-think tactics as another unexpected assault is launched. Controls are easy to operate, with a simple action key to pick up items, arm explosives, enter or command vehicles and operate heavyweight guns. There are generous supplies of medi-packs dotted round the maps but you'll need them, as some of the missions involve wave after wave of enemy reinforcements. Once you complete the single-player campaign you can then explore the multiplayer option which includes the familiar Deathmatch one-on-one (or team variation) as well as Behind Enemy Lines (small Allied team holds out against superior Axis numbers), Retrieval (finding documents in enemy territory) and Search & Destroy. Verdict: In short, if you want the closest experience to real WWII combat, this is the place to come. Stunningly realistic graphics, fantastic sound quality and truly tense and adrenaline-rushing action make this a must-have war game.

Summary: What a blast!
Review: I have really enjoyed this game. I bought a copy for a buddy at work and he loves it too. It's got a good script and rewards careful strategy. On the most difficult level there are no health packs available, so it really makes you think about what you're doing. The Russian campaign is my favorite. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys first person military shooters.

Summary: Best Russian Front shooter
Review: I have to admit that it is the best rendition of the Russian Front I have ever played. It has Stalingrad, Warsaw and Berlin. Soon they are going to make an add on including the Battle of the Bulge, Battle for Sicily and Battle of Kursk. Also the Tank battle at the end of the game is pretty cool. The game also includes the Rising of the Flag on the Reichstag.

Summary: BEST MULTIPLAYER EVER
Review: This game is one of the best games I have played so far. It is a first person shooter with plenty of levels and challenging too. Once you beat single player you don't wont to throw all your skills that you gained from that away. Take those skills to multiplayer where the real challenge is. The good thing about multiplayer is that it never gets boring. Every time you play it's different.I play on multiplayer all the time. There are lots of levels to play from and you can play with up to 60 people on one server but usually it only reaches 40 people. There are many different types of multiplayer games and levels for this game. (sometimes look at the corner of your multiplayer screen because sometimes there are update things where you can get better levels and types of multiplyer games. "Deathmatch"-You only try to keep yourself alive by shooting anyone you see walk by, but always watch your back. "Team Deathmatch"- Same as deathmatch just now your on a team and you go after the other team. Takes teamwork for your team to win but fun and challenging. "Behind Enemy Lines"- Object of this type of multiplayer is to get most points by staying an allie the longest. If there are 20 germans on one server there will only be about 5 allies, and what the germans do is seek out and find the allies. The german who kills an allie becomes an allie, and the allie that is killed becomes a german. You get about 1 point every ten seconds you stay alive as an allie. "Search and Destroy"- This is my least favorite out of all types. Your on either allies or germans and the object of this is to set bombs on the other teams tank. The only bad thing is that once your killed you have to wait till the bomb goes off and blows up the tank or all the people on one team are dead.This may take a while because some people are slow and dont move much and don't get killed for a while. "Retrieve"- I never really played this type. You have to retrieve some documents from the other team and has same concept of seek and destroy once your dead have to wait till your whole team is dead or soemone retrieves the documents. There are more types of multiplayer types then what I wrote but these are the most played on the game. This is still a great game to play by yourself but its one of the best multiplayer games.
