Summary: The 'Next Generation' of FPS
Review: Misunderstood genius in the works? Possibly. Hardcore multiplayer deathmatch junkies abound choke, jaw dropping, and eyes tearing up in addict style form. "Did someone just say... D3 will only support FOUR players in multiplayer???! OMG!" Well sorry to drop the news, but yes, id Software has announced they will indeed be abandoning the near legendary theme of 'deathmatch' mayhem in upcoming Doom III: The Legacy, the very same theme that previously ensured Doom and id a permanent spot of PC gaming infamy. So does this mean it's the end of the world? Hardly. Check out any popular online PC game review group site (PC IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy, just to name a few). The purpose behind D3 was to scare the living daylights out of the player -- in a SINGLE PLAYER setting. Goal accomplished. Don't be disappointed in a lack of emphasis on multiplayer action. If Doom 1, 2, Quake 1, 2, 3, Unreal and Unreal 2003 weren't enough to quench your need for constant, uninterrupted, mindless slaughter of the closest living creature over and over and over again, hey, Quake 4's coming up soon. Why would a company with a series like Quake on its roster bother to make another game of the same concept with a different title, i.e. Doom? Afterall, boys and girls, that -is-what Quake is for. Drool. Shudder. Buy the game. Covet your lovely BFG reincarnation and all will be well with the world. ;)

Summary: Could this be the best Doom EVER?!
Review: I have seen several movies of Doom 3, and I got a close look at the game when I went to E3 in L.A. a few months back. Overall in the show, this game was one of my favorites. I love Id software, and hopefully, they will make Doom 3 an awesome game. So far, they are fully on track! In an early preview build, the game featured terrific sound, great gameplay that was similar to that of UT 2003, another awesome game, but most of all, the game had a mind-blowing graphical engine, which demonstrated unbelievable graphical power never before shown in a PC game. The game stepped away from the original two games in terms of style. Doom 3 will still be an FPS, but instead of side scrolling 2D gaming, it is an amazing shooter more along the lines of Unreal or Star trek Elite Force. In fact, the game played almost exactly like these two games mentioned here. Doom 3 is still very far away from being released, and there weren't too many details, but I think that we all could be in for a treat when 2004 rolls around!

Review: zzz... Thank you ID software. The 'when its done' game is pushed back yet again. There's a surprise. Between all the BS rumors of needing a super rig to run this game, and the ever oblique/shifting release date - who hasn't grown tired of the D3 hype? Im sure I'll still 'acquire' a copy of the game, but I've indeed cancelled my pre-order. Based on the disappointing delays alone, the game isn't worth 50 bucks. Sorry ID, you can't have my money.

Review: Having the opportunity to get my hands on a Beta Release of Doom 3 all I can say is oh my god. This is what we have all been waiting for. The levels are beautiful. The monsters can scare the pee right out of you. With Doom 3 Im always on the edge of my chair. This game provides solid gameplay typical to the FPS genre and i cannot express enough how beautiful it is. Ive heard comments about DX9 Games like HL2 and Doom 3 Not fully working with Nvidia based cards, but if you have a Nvidia card just get the new 50 series beta drivers and you shouldnt have to much of a problem. I play this game on a Athlon XP 2700 1 GIG 333mhz Crucial Ram, and a Geforce 3 TI 500. My game settings are 1280x768x32 with High Detail, High Draw Rate and Medium Effects and i average 35-45 FPS in game, yes i know its not 60 or 70 but its smooth and very very playable, its not like trying ot run Unreal 2 on a 1.2 duron with a 32 meg card.. choke choke choke.. Not this game.. anyways its sweet.. get it.. you wont be disappointed.

Review: Where is the line people? Where is the point where game companies need to be regarding putting out a super quality product in the first place vs. rushing it out to meet an ultimately pointless deadline? When people complain and say "you are way past the release date...now I'm not gonna buy it" is that driving them to further streamline and improve what those of us who plunk down our cash get to see and hear? Or do you think they will just green light it to production and distribution? The first Doom was an incredible experience for it's day, compared to Wolfenstein and Doom 2 didn't let anyone down, so let's give it a chance and appreciate a polished product for a change.

I was one of the few lucky ones to be able to play Doom III Using the 3 level Demo that E3 released. I must say that the game accomplished what it was intended for, to scare the living daylights out of you. I played the Alpha Leak on a 1.8Ghz 512mb ram with a Geforce 4. It was laggy but I'm sure it will run better once the retail is out. Doom III has the best lighting and shading I've ever seen in a game ever. The game is like walking around in a scary haunted house with a gun. The models for the zombies and monsters are insanely realistic. It's dark, bloody, and scary and I look forward to playing the retail version. One word of advice, if you think the zombie is dead, he is not!

Review: Dunno how much fun this game actually is, but I've played the alpha version, which looked, sounded and FELT like WOW! All the dynamically moving shadows and the awesome graphics and sounds made me feel fear! That is pretty rare for a game!

Review: last year i went to QUAKECON a convention were you stay up for 36 sraight hours and play QUAKE,but at QUAKECON they had a playeble demo of DOOM 3 and what i played was super sweet,the gameplay was awesome the graphics made me drool,and the game was scary!so scary i had to change my pants a couple of times i cant wait until it comes out
