Summary: One of the best FPS ever!
Review: This game is just great. The graphics, the physics, gameplay.....
but the most interesting thing is, that this game wasn't developed in the USA, but in a small town in Germany. With a budget of only 6 Million Dollars, they created this game within 5 years. They created the CryTec engine to wich most other engines look quite poor. So please give some respect to the "old" Europe ;-)

Summary: Best single player since Half-Life
Review: Totally beats my expectations, this is the game to get and is probley the best single player FPS experience since Half-Life.

Graphics and sound are only part of what makes this game so great. The AI is absolutely amazing and really do "work together" to hunt you down. There are so many things done right in this game, the few bugs it has won't even matter to you. The most stunning game visuals I've seen in years. Level design uses a wide bottleneck to allow multiple paths to the objective while ensuring story continuity. I can only hope other studio's follow this example.

A few multiplayer maps and modes are provided, but the games comes with the CryEngine Sandbox editor which is so easy to use it's just a matter of days before the first great user created maps appear. There's not alot of MP content out of the box, but the tools have been provided.

Vetern Gamers should play this game on "Challenging" or higher with "Auto ballance bot AI" checked for max enjoyment.

My system can run this game at ultra high settings, but I've taken some of them down to high just to make sure there's not even the slightest glitch in the massive firefights. I also threw an additional case fan on my video card to ensure no overheating. My system is an AMD 2800+ with 512 DDR400 and a Radeon 9800 PRO 256 Ultimate Edition. No overclocking and zero lag.

This game is a "must have" game. It's easily worth the cost and will provide you with some of the best gameplay. Highly recommended.

Summary: Far Cry GAME OF THE YEAR
Review: FAR CRY AND HALFLIFE 2 are the games to watch . You must buy this game.

Summary: Ok, but NO SAVE GAME
Review: This game looks awesome. Starts out fun, but has waypoint saves and NO SAVE GAME. Game companies need to remember that save games make them more fun, PC Players are not platform players. Game becomes a real pain and bore due to repeating same levels over and over to beat the waypoint. You will be forced to cheat to finish the game on the medium level because the NPCs just don't go down. Overall, a great game if you could same when you wanted to.

Summary: This game is perfect
Review: I have noticed that some other people have given Far Cry low scores for some reasons, and after playing through the whole game I have to say that the other reviewers should actually PLAY the game before reviewing low.

1: The game doesn't work! I have a 2.4 ghz processor blah blah..

If you want to play the new modern games that are leading the way in technology, you need to have a good computer, not just a computer that can play most of today's games decently. If you claim that you have a very good system and the game won't run, you're a liar.

2: The game is too hard!/The controls are bad!

Difficulty isn't a game flaw, that just means that you can't take a challenge, thus points should not be taken off. The controls are standard FPS controls and they're customizable, so no one has any right to complain about that.

3: The AI is terrible!

This is the one that's disturbing me. The AI is terrible on EASY MODE. If you bring the difficulty to Normal, Hard or Realistic, the AI is the most real acting AI ever seen in a game.

In conclusion, Far Cry is simply an amazing game. I have played the Doom III alpha which was on display at E3 and I believe that Far Cry will even beat out Doom III and Half-Life 2.

Summary: The Half-Life of 2004
Review: Having heard so much about this game, I could hardly wait for the installation to finish. But the wait was worth it.

What makes this game great is its immersive storyline, outstanding detailed graphics, amazing game play and its fast paced action.

I won't tell you much about the story, I'll leave it up to you. But while I was playing it, it felt like watching a movie. The action, the suspense, the surprises keeps you immersed from start to end.

The game play is great. You won't find yourself stuck in places and having to load your game. The character moves smoothly, the weapons are quite accurate especially if you kneel or prone. The AI is pretty good, they'll follow you almost anywhere. It isn't impossible to hit the enemy, and when you need to drive a vehicle you have the F1 key to switch to a 3rd person view. Though I enjoyed driving from the first person view.

Words could not do the graphics any justice. If you play the game for 1 min on the first level you'll see what i mean. The graphics and the details are unbelievable. The only problem with this is that you need a very performing computer. Even on my P IV, 512 DDRAM, Geforce 4 5600FX, 3.0 GHz the game was totally unplayable at MEDIUM level of details in areas crawling with buildings. You should absolutely try the demo and download the latest drivers for your pc before you get the game.

The game can get a bit frustrating at some levels. And the demand for a high performance computer cannot be ignored. But all in all this is the best FPS I've played in years, and I think it might just be the Half-Life of 2004.

Summary: Stuck on an island with alot to do
Review: This is a very fun game with alot of great graphics. You need a high end system to play this with most of the bells and whistles. The computer AI is impressive but not perfect. You can wait around a corner and pop off the enemies one by one as they round the corner but they will call for help and retreat when the going gets rough and they work together to ambush you.The only draw back is that most of the action is on an island but with such great graphics most people will not mind. The mutiplay part you can easily forget. This game will keep you busy till Half-Life 2 and Doom 3.If you are a first person action game junkie like me this is for you !

Summary: Quality control ?
Review: I downloaded the demo and it crashed 3 Times within the 25 odd minute demonstratoin I subjected myself to. I have played "Splinter cell" and "Raven shield" and they also quite often crashed on my computer (Both UBI games). My system is Windows XP SP1, P4 1,6 GHz, GF4 Ti4600, SB Live PCI, 512 Mb RAM. -Note: Very standard components with the latest drivers as well. Granted, not the 'latest and greatest' hardware, but still plenty good enough for 'today's' games @ reasonable settings. I have played and still play UT2004 and many other games with no crashes, so know it is not a defective system causing the problem. Moreover, regarding Raven shield, I contacted the UBI "tech support" via telephone (as it is very obscure how to e-mail them from the information provided on their website) and the gentlman with whom I spoke was very rude to me.
