Summary: THE SIMS 2---Looks Great, Can't Wait!!!!
Review: I know this is technically a preview and not a review, but considering 203 other people have already done this, I feel I should add to the buzz. :)

I personally cannot wait till this game comes out. I was a big SIMS addict for the first year or so after it was released. I basically gave up buying the expansion packs after THE SIMS: VACATION when I realized that, while the expansion packs added cool things and more options, it didn't really change the fundamentals of the game itself, which (let's face it) got rather stale after a year (to say nothing of how stale it became three years after initial release, or even most especially by now). Also, I realized that I had spent somewhere around $200 for what was basically *one* computer game. As initially unique, groundbreaking and addictive as this game was, this figure was mindboggling and unprecedented. So I stopped after the VACATION expansion pack, assuming that it would be the last one anyway, which of course, it wasn't! It's even more mindboggling to consider that so many people have spent well in excess of $300 for this one game, THE SIMS---with many individual figures surpassing the one-grand mark, due to monthly fees incurred by THE SIMS ONLINE expansion pack! I mean, it was a great game & all, but c'mon---enough was enough already! The fact is, *no* computer game is worth spending anywhere *near* that much dough!!

However, the gloriously long-awaited THE SIMS 2 looks as if it might be. You know, for its own endless series of expansion packs that will undoubtably follow in the wake of the game's release. I recently visited the website, and for those of you eagerly anticipating the late-summer release (and praying that it doesn't get pushed back any further), I strongly recommend that you visit the website to get a good look at this amazing game for yourself. Of course, I'm sure you've heard that you will now be able to follow your Sims' lives from infancy through old age. Or that the Sims are more realistic-looking than ever, with infinitely more variety in looks, wardrobe, homes, neighborhoods, furnishings---everything! Well, now the website provides over a hundred screenshots so that you can *see* what all of this looks like, plus more!

It gets even better; the website (which is great-looking in its own right) is incredibly interactive. You can download your own copy of THE SIMS 2 Body Shop and start creating your new Sims today! I've been so busy working lately that I haven't had time to play with it as of yet, but now that I have a couple days off... :) All to whet our increasing anticipation for the game---and for me, it's working like a charm!

Again, go to THE SIMS 2 website so you can satisfy your growing thirst for what will be the hottest---and probably the best---game of the year, or any year!

Summary: THE BEST!!!
Review: I think this will be the best game the sims have ever made - I am only 13 and I have been playing the Sims since when they first came out in 2000 - I now have The Sims Deluxe, Vacation, House Party, Unleashed, Hot Date, SUperstar, Making Magic, Online-Charter Edition, Sims City 4 + Rush Hour expansion pack, Theme Park, and basically I have ALL the other Sims I have not mentioned and I preordered Sims 2 in December. Visit www.thesims2.com for more information on some of the new features that The Sims 2 includes. The only concern I have about The Sims 2 is that it was originally gonna be released March 31, then June 31, then August 31, and now September 14, which means that they are dealing with a bug that is in the game at this rate, if they keep pushing the release date back it might be another year until it is released. I would hope they would fix the errors in time for it to come out soon - and when it does come out that there are no bugs in it. Me and my best friend are Sims freaks-we both have all of the sims and we have been SO(...) excited about The Sims 2 coming out and we have been counting down the days since probaby October - we are sick of them putting off the release date for a year! Well - anyways if you were wondering why they kept putting off the release date now you know! I still cant wait for it to come out!!! IT IS GOING TO BE THE BEST!!!!!

Summary: Specs
Review: I checked my computer which is about two years old and it's more than capable of handling the game. Like, I have "P4", and 40 GB of hard drive, (I'm a pack rat). And a more advanced video card than they suggest. I have 256 MB RAM but I may increase that anyway, rather be safe...

This is straight from the website: http://thesims2.ea.com/about_system_specs.php

The Sims™ 2 Minimum System Specs

If you have a T&L capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM (such as nvidia GeForce 2 or better or ATI Radeon 7000 or better) then you need at least:
600 MHz P3 processor
256 MB RAM if Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000
At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space
If you have a non-T&L capable video card (such as TNT2 or Intel Integrated for example) then you need at least:
1.5 GHz processor
256 MB RAM if Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98, or Windows 2000
At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space
Recommended video cards (and the more video memory the better):
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Nvidia Geforce 4 or FX series cards

From the nVidia website's glossary
Transform & Lighting (T&L) definition: Two separate engines on the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) that provide for a powerful, balanced PC platform and enable extremely high polygon count scenes. Transform performance determines how complex objects can be and how many can appear in a scene without sacrificing frame rate. Lighting techniques add to a scene's realism by changing the appearance of objects based on light sources.

Some other notes about video cards:
T&L video cards started shipping around 3 years ago, so if you got your computer in the last couple of years you should check and see if you have a T&L card.

It's always a good idea to make sure you have the most current drivers for your video cards. The manufacturers usually have the video drivers on their sites for you to download. Visit the nVidia site or the ATI for the latest drivers for those video cards.

Review: the freezing up. It is a really great game. Well, worth the price. The Sims was a really great game and this steps it up sooo much. There are so many more options and things to buy. The parties are cute and so are the aspirations, like to make woohoo with 3 people...and in public. It's not for every age, but for those of us who are old enough to "woohoo", I say go for it. I couldn't play it at first (I have Windows ME), then I found this website that said to right click on the the game, go to properties, go to the end of the target line, press the space bar then type -w and voila I was able to play. I was so excited and have been staying up to the next day playing it like I did with the first one. I highly recommend it if you can stand it freezing up on you from time to time. The requirements are not all that they are cracked up to be. I don't have the right video card but with that trick that I mentioned above I am still able to play. Be clear, I'm not saying that every computer is exempt, though. If you have an extra $50.00 have fun!!!

Being a Substitute in Maxis I Have played the Game while Luc was sick, I actually Digitally Programmed the 3D in the game.

I was very happy when I played the game to actually find it worked, I also tryed programming something extra. But It failed, It was suppose to be rain. But you know its stupid because It went through the house also so I'm back to the drawing table. If you want more you can go to www.thesims2.com
or if you want info on the first sims go to www.thesimsea.com

Summary: THIS GAME ROCKS!
Review: Sims 2 is waaaaay better than The Sims. You can create your own neighborhood. Then you create a family. You can change everything about them, from eyebrow shape to weight, to outfit (self designed or pre made) to hair (color and style). Building houses is really cool too. You can choose the color of furniture, and there's just so much MORE! Everything is 3-D also. Sims also grow older, and die of old age. This is the best computer game I've ever played!

Summary: Sound like the best game ever
Review: The sims2 sounds like the coolest game. There are many new things making it way better than the sims1. Here is a list of some of the cool new things.
Your sims now age. They are a baby, toddler, kid, teen, adult, and elder.
The sims have birthday's now.
Since the sims age, they can die of old age.
Houses can now have more than two stories. There can be 3 stories and an attic.
You can change the sims hair style and make-up using a mirror.
There are community lots where you can shop for clothes and groceries or go to the pool.
Getting married is a much bigger thing.
There are weekends so kids and adults can get time off from work and school.
Sims have fears and wants.
They remember their first kiss, marriage, things like that.
Everything is in 3D.
There is a new film making option where you can get on tape what happens at a part of their life.
The camera is way better. You can see and take pictures at many different angles. Even in the pool!
You can marry the maid, burgler, firefighter, ect.
If your sim gets bad grade, he/she doesn't have to go to military school.
More social interactions including family hug (or was it kiss?).
The sims can cook many different meals.

Well I hope this helps you out. Just to let you know Maxis will be making a sims3. (I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the isn't out yet).
