Summary: Just the best
Review: I have reviwed many products and EA games never ceases to amaze me. This game is amazing, you get really cool guns and get to ride in cool vehicles. The graphics are tremendously better, I would reccomend an avid war gamer to BUY THIS NOW! A couple months ago i was playin Bf1942 and I was thinking man, they need a veitnam game like this! I mean the have veitnam games like "Veitcong" thats ok if you want to move through a green tunnel! it offers no freedom you jut walk on the guided path with green walls on the side of you... quiet pointless, but then BFV was announced and i was so exited and i bought it and it was like i expected GREAT! Buy this now or you crazy

Summary: invest in a new videocard and memory
Review: The game is fine it just needs few batches. my advice to invest in a new video card like GForce FX5700 ultra, or ATI 9600XT,and more RAM (512mb)

Summary: I bet it's fun if it actually worked.
Review: I'm running a P 1.8; 512 RAm and GE Force 3 64. This game is essentially unplayable. Bizzare graphics, freezing and crashing to desktop, slow motion movement at the lowest settings. I'm sure this game is a lot of fun but I would wait at least 6 months before purchasing. I've never encountered a so poorly planned and designed game. It's really bad. They hyped the bejesus out of it and it's unfortunate beacuse most people will be instantly turned off by the quality. Stay away.

Summary: Do you have the guts? If you don't, buyer beware...
Review: I am a HUGE fan of the BF1942 Franchise. Not surprisingly, I was excited to get my hands on Battlefield Vietnam. Now, I know my computer is antiquated compared to the systems coming out today (DELL, Windows ME, 1.5GHz, 128MB Nvidia GeForce 4600 video card, 512 PC800 RAM, 80GB HD), but BF1942 generally ran well at 1200x1600x32 with high texture detail and high sound detail. I just loaded up BFV, and even at the lowest settings (or as low as I'm willing to play) 800x600 with low detail texture and sound, the frame rate is deplorable (and yes, I made sure that there was nothing running in the background). My computer is above the "minimum" system requirements (933MHz), but, even at the lowest video settings, the game is unplayable. I'm not just talking the occasional hiccup, I mean the entire screen image would stop for several seconds. I assumed that since BF1942 ran well and was fun to play on my system, that BFV would also work the same...nope. Clearly, the new graphics engine and AI requires significantly more system power than suggested by EA's published system requirements. I'm sure BFV would be great fun with a cutting-edge system, but if you have anything less than a 2.5 GHz CPU and the latest video and sound cards, I would not suggest buying this game. I guess it's time cough up another $3500.00 and buy a new system...yikes!

Summary: Best War Game available
Review: 1942 was the best war game for a while and now Vietnam is which makes it an outstanding game. There isn't a tremendous amount of improvements but the game didn't need a whole lot of improvement in the first place. Still a blast to play with improved guns and maps and everything else but don't expect anything mind bendingly awesome as far as changes. You'll need a fairly high-end machine to run this game smoothly so if you don't have one then you should look at something else. 1942 fans and FPS fans in general should have a great time playing this game.

Summary: BATTLEFIELD= fun + war + vietnam + jungle + guns + america
Review: This game is the best war game. I'd ever played. You don't have to trust me on this one. I didn't get through the whole game. I see that this game is really fun. The sound is really tight. Every bullet I ever fired on this game was like pure magic. The sound of the jeeps, birds. Everything. Incredible. Left me breathless. Though the strongpoint of the game weren't on the graphics and it didn't really have cut-scenes. Kind of took the sense of adventure away from me. Anyways, this is probably the best war game I played. The historical levels were actually pretty historically accurate. This is the best of the Battlefield games and no one should hold back on getting a copy of their own.

Summary: Good, but more of a DirectX 9 platform for the mods.
Review: I am a huge fan of battlefield 1942 and its mods, but have actually only had it since December so I was a bit overwhelmed when I saw this on store shelves. It is a much slicker game presentation wise, dripping with graphical and atmospherical details (U.S. radio DJ playing in base, glossy water, helicopter wind stirring on ground, to name a few). It brings a few new gameplay elements to the table with airliftable vehicles, movable spawn points, and multiple packs per role (engineer1, engineer2, sniper1, sniper2, etc.). Also coo is the ability to fire from the passenger seat of the jeep and the new 2- map "evolution" gametype. So what's not to love? I personally do not think that game has enough maps or vehicles, but that's okay. This game kind of ripped off mods Desert Combat and especially Edge of Destruction in some respects, but because they are user created mods that also is okay, if a pet peeve. The main problem that keeps one from enjoying this very enjoyable game that it is laggy as heck. This means that the framerate slows to a crawl on most servers, rendeing the game almost unplayable.
I would advise you to wait for a patch to come out before you buy this game, especially of you have a Radeon graphics card (bugs). I really do not think that the Vietnam war, which was somewhat infantry oriented, is very good bf material. Once mods like Dc and Gcmod (star wars) come out, I will be on this all day. Buy it now if you are a hardcore fan, otherwise wait until a patch comes out. Go! Go! Go!

Summary: overall a good game - but don't believe the hype
Review: First off, I feel it is very important for each reviewer to explain their system before giving their review. To fully enjoy this game, you need to have a higher end machine. With that said, I am running a below average machine when it comes to today's gaming standards (1.7 P4 CPU, 256 MB RAM, 64MB NVidia GeForce 3 card). I am also just a casual game player - in fact, I have never even played BattleField 1942.
With that said, I found the game impossible to play on the medium settings. Soon after starting a game, objects loss their skins and only showed a 3D wire mesh image. Soon after that, objects just turned different shades of gray. Not sure if it was a bug, or my settings. I started again with the lowest video settings, and all was fine.
Not sure if this is just me, but the loading of each map takes anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes!! I usually start a game, go out for a bit, than come back to play.
Once I finally got in to my single player game, I found myself wandering around for 10 minutes without finding a single thing to shoot at.
For a casual gamer, I didn't find this game anything to shout about. Obviously, no one has given it much time yet since it has only been out for two days since I am writing this review. Perhaps the more I play it, the more addicting it will become. But I highly recommend upgrading your machine to fully enjoy this game. Waiting for a patch to come out first also will not hurt.
I would not recommend this game for gamers who do not enjoy first person shooters. It will not win any awards in its genre - especially game of the year which alot of people were hinting at BEFORE it was released.
Take a look at the rest of the Amazon ratings. You can tell that the people who wrote a review before the game was released all gave it 5 stars. The peolpe who reviewed the game after actually playing it started to give it lower ratings for a reason. This game does not live up to the hype, but is a good game overall.
