Summary: UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004
Review: it WAS aMAZING. THe graphics r amazin, the souind is crisp and everything has been refines and tweaked t operfection. The vehicles r a nice change and all the weapons have been balanced in accordance to this. Many of the maps are huge in the vehicle based Onslaught maps but you can always use vehicles or transport easily in seconds to the action. My only criticism is that the AI hasnt been changes as much as the rest of the features. The bots still crouch and turn slowly to look for you while your pumelling lead into their body. But, i guess this is an online game so i is not complainin. Id give over ten stars if possible.

Summary: A Return to Awesomeness!
Review: The original unreal ruled. This game can match that game. Unlike the flawed Unreal Tournament 2003, this game brings in new and interesting features. They have brought back the original sniper rifle as well, which is probably one of the best decisions the company has made.

The new modes are interesting. There is a spaceship mode kinda like x-wing alliance. There are also some other modes worth mentioning. The invasion one is alright. Invaion involves a group of bots and you fighting of swarms of monsters. It can get boring though as most of the levels aren't that interesting. Mutant is okay. It is kinda like an ironman thing. The mutant earns kill points, while others want to kill the mutant to get that ability. There is also this new mode where you capture points on a large map. You can get a bunch of vehicles to help you. They work like Halo's vehicles except there are different types. Plane, hovercraft, little car, medium car, tank, super tank, and turrents. They all work pretty well, and they are all different. The little car even has 2 blades which can stick out the sides and kill opponents.

The tournament is interesting. There is a money system in which you earn money from battles. All your stats are tracked. Double kills, multi kills, kills and deaths in general, wins, losses, and some others. This makes for a bigger initiative to do better. There are some flaws. Play with the bots in adept mode and you will see some of the cheapest stuff you've ever seen. The bots dodge tons of stuff and will always hit you unless you sidestep, but it takes a bit to learn because they can read you perfectly. They also do a cheap thing where if you get close to them you die instantly from their flak gun. It is almost instant as they will be shooting one gun and in a millisecond you will die. It isn't like your gun switching system where you can't be shooting and have to wait a second for the gun to pop up. This is kind of frustrating because anything lower than adept is too easy.

The new guns, models, maps(some are from 2003), and gametypes are all done masterfully and make this game much better than 2003. It is worth owning soley for the new vehicles in my opinion. 5 stars.

Summary: Simply Unreal!
Review: Just like 1999's original Unreal Tournament, twitch gaming at its finest! This game rocks start to finish. Slightly different weapons then the original and many more maps. Some original maps return in a slightly updated version. Updated team games in addition to the death match games.

Running on P4 2.8GHZ with XP and a Sapphire ATI9500 video card, no problems installing or running the game. Runs like lightening.

Minor issues with Joystick use, that can be solved in most cases by reading the "release notes," and editing the user.ini file.

Summary: Very Snobby!!!
Review: Upon buying it, I was sceptical; it felt like I had to do too much just to play the game. Once I got all of the settings ajusted (video on highest) I started playing. Well, I have a GeForce 3 64 mb video card, 256 RAM, and an Athlon 1800+.
Considering the fact that this game uses the same unreal engine as UT2003, it should have run fine on near to high/highest settings. Also considering that my computer is a defective retard in the computer world, it should have run fine. It has bloody long load times, even if the graghics are on lowest; whenever the game starts there is serious lag, but after about a minute all is well. My computer needs non-defective parts, but probably 512 mb of memory as well.

An hour or so later this game turns out to be snobby(translation: sweeeeeet!). I was retarded to think this game was complicated, it's the year 2004 for crying out loud! This game overwhelms UT2003 as long as you clear your mind and spend some time playing the game! Oh yeah, I've always loved how the announcer announces, it's so funny, and you can customize what type of voice is assigned to a certain type of announcing. Very nice.

P.S.
Whoever wrote the review titled "Boom, Baby!!!" needs to write something more related to the subject, though I strongly agree with your rating :) I'm very snobby

this game is magnificent, the gameplay, the graphic and the music is totaly mind blowing. And only 40$!!! I suggest that you buy this game before Atari wakes up and notice that they are underpricing the game. :)
you won't regret it.

By the way, the only first-person-shooting game that can even come close to Unreal Tournament 2004 is Half Life 2.

Summary: What UT2003 should have been
Review: UT2003 was pretty much a failure when released with gameplay that wasn't even as good as the original done years before.

With UT2004 Epic as redeemed themselves. Epic has taken this game farther in a year than anyone could have ever imagined and the result is breathtaking.

The return of "Assault" game mode and the addition of a new "Onslaught" give players 10 different game types to choose from. There really is something for everyone now, with many of the modes so addicting you'll wonder why they even included "Deathmatch" at all. There's over 100 maps, and already there are several new fan based ones for download.

The Bot engine that drives your teammates and opponents (if your not online) is the best there is. They follow instructions via either voice input or voice menu command and seem "real".

Vehicles add a third dimension to the gameplay as you have to worry about what is above you (or shoot through the canyons below). Most vehicles can be taken out by ground troops with guided missles, so they don't overwhelm the maps. They have cool weapons, but are more for mobility than anything else.

Graphics and game sounds are excellent and can be configured for most systems. You will need a DX 9.0 card, if don't have one and were waiting for that next generation game to get one - it's time and they're much cheaper these days. My system is able to run the game maxed (Athlon 2800+, Radeon 9800 Pro 256, 512 DDR RAM).

You should get this game. There are few games out there that pack as much content out of the box as UT2004. Within a month there will be dozens of more player generated maps to download along with all the mods the fanboys create. You simply can't beat the gaming value this one has to offer.
