Summary: Should still play on GeForce 4's...
Review: I havn't played the actual game, only the demo.. game looks fantastic... but I get unplayable frame rates with a 2.4ghz p4, 512corsair xmx 3200 and a 4600.. unacceptable.. all my friends who have gf4's have same problem.. guess it's time to upgrade to a dx9 card :/

Summary: "We was robbed" is right
Review: The review titled "We was robbed" is so true. The graphics are fuzzy-looking, and the movement is erm, weird? It's hard to explain, it has nothing to do with the hardware either. I have a GeForce FX 5900 on an AMD 2600+. It's not 'choppy', but it's weird. I'm going to return this to the store and beg them for my money back. I will then re-install the original Deus Ex and play it all over again. This game is awful! Seriously, I'd rather be forced to see "Dude where's my car" ten times in a row than play another hour of this godawful game.

Summary: Why change a winning formula?
Review: Not a bad game, but would have been 10 times better if it was more faithful to the original. A lot of the fun aspects have gone, including the look and feel, to be replaced with a generic shooter with "fuzzy" graphics. Long time fans will definately ask themselves why the heck all the fun aspects were removed and replaced with no brainer alternatives (eg generic ammo, generic biomods etc) -- a LOT of the strategy has been removed :(

Summary: Horrible Decisions
Review: Whoever decided to choose a graphics engine that will not run on sub-$200 graphics cards should be fired.

Summary: Great Game!
Review: I've played the first few hours of this game and can happily report that I am having a blast with all the possibilities and options that it offers. It's been distilled down to what really counts, and that's the multiple solutions and emergent gameplay that made the first one so engaging. The weapons and biomods in this one rock! The interface takes a little getting used to, but now I like it. I'm running it at 800x600 with an AMD 1.7XP/NVidia Ti200 and it runs smooth for me!

Summary: We was robbed
Review: It's very hard to understand the deisgn choices that were made in the production of this game; everything from the graphic design to the gameplay is out of whack. This might be an ok game for someone who has never played Deus Ex. But most people familiar with the first one will find this a major disapointment.

First, there is just something that is not right about the way the game looks; it's not that it runs slowly or that the graphics are "bad;" but they seem to look sort of fuzzy, washed out, or indistinct. I suspect that this has something to do with the port from the televison-based console game. The console port has also taken its toll in other aspects of the game. For example, in the old Deus Ex, when you hacked a security computer, you got a graphic display of what the computer interface looked like. Now you just get a little text menu; "Turn camera off; Turn turret off" etc. And then there's "universal ammo." I don't know what genius thought up the idea of a single ammo pack that powers your rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and electric prod. One of the challenges of any shooter game, and especially the Deus Ex/System shock games, is making the best use of the ammo for your different weapons. And where are the skills? One of the great things about DX and System Shock was the ability to gain skills as the game progressed, leading to the potential for very different skill sets by the end of the game. Skills have been entirely removed from the game system.

The character AI is unbelievably bad... they just stand there while you shoot them in the head, or rob them of their items. At least the voice acting is better than in the original.

Is this the most disapointing game sequel ever? It's hard for me to think of another one that comes close. This also does not bode well for Thief 3, next in line from this studio.

Summary: Best game of 2003
Review: Without a doubt the best game to play this year! It is in every way what the original was and in some ways more. No other game other than the first one gives you the feeling of having total control of the outcome. For a gamer that enjoys a game that makes you think, DX: Invisible War is a must have.

Summary: Amazing Graphics.....
Review: Apparently none of you are running this game smoothly on a 9800pro and oc'd AMD. Run this game @ 1600x1200, 2xAA and 8x Aniso and then tell me that it doesn't have good graphics. I realize not everyone is running high-end machines but that's why there's a console version. You cant expect better graphics with the same card, it's a hardware limitation, not of the rendering engine.

I hear and a gree with your complaints about the crappy AI, no skills, unified ammo, and worst of all, that interface. It's HORRIBLE, absolutely horrible. I can't beleive it, they so blatantly cater to the console gamers, but WE made this game big.

It works out, i guess, pc gamers get crappy ports of Grand Theft Auto, because that belongs to console. Xbox should have a modded port of OUR game, fair enough. ok im done ranting. I'd say buy it if you see the promise that i see in the demo.

Summary: So Far, So Good
Review: I was apprehensive from the ads that this was targeted to a much younger audience than the first game, but upon playing the demo, it looks like they might have kept the dark atmosphere that was the core of the first game. At least it wasn't annoying like Unreal 2. As for how much gear you need, I was able to play the(very short)demo on a PIII 700 with an old ATI 8500 card. My advice would be to download the demo before you buy it.

Summary: Converted Console Crap
Review: "Deus Ex - Invisible War" is the second game after "Tomb Raider - The Angel of Darkness" Eidos completely screwed up in 2003. LEAVE IT! CANCEL YOUR PREORDERS! This game is worth zero bucks.
The graphics are far below average and the interface is worse. It's simply converted from the X-Box-Version and does not reach the possible quality of a PC-Version of the game. They took an olympic runner and - fascinated by the idea of making him faster - sawed of his legs.
