Summary: A Good, Solid Game
Review: Despite what anyone thinks starcraft is and excellent game; it is a wonderful addition to the strategy gaming genre. Like all blizzard games this one is trully addicting. Although it may have some faults, the fact is, most everything about it makes it fun. There are three different species that you can be and almost infinite strategies for each of them. The basic philosophy is kill your enemy a.k.a. kill your opponents base. But starcraft multiplayer adds a whole new realm to the game.

This game is a must if you have some friends that play it; because, playing with friends is much more rewarding of an experience then some can imagined. Starcraft is a an great game to play people you know with.

Bottom line: if you like strategy games or want to start playing strategy games, don't miss this great title from blizzard.

p.s. throw out my other review...

Summary: awesome!
Review: i've played quake 2 and starcraft, both the greatest games of all time! single-player starcraft is a great game, but multi-player is ten-fold more challenging. don't hesitate, buy this game. the only caveat is, you might not get be able to leave your computer.

Summary: Simply the best game I have ever played
Review: Allright, when I played Warcraft 2, I though it was the best that Real-time-strategy gaming could get. Then I played Starcraft! This is probably the most addicting game ever. Fans of Warcraft 1 and 2 will love this game. Gameplay is basically the same, just in space. However, there are three races, cooler buildings, and really good multiplayer modes. Great sci-fi storyline, great graphics. The units look awesome! Add on the campaign and map editor, and you have an unlimited amount of gameplay. Then, go buy the brood war expansion set! I would talk about that too, but it would take up too much space. Bottom line: buy it!

Summary: THE MOST AMAZING STRADEGY GAME EVER CREATED!
Review: If you like stradegy games and science fiction, then this is a game that never gets old and I've been playing for over a year. StarCraft has THE best multi player game on the net. You can nuke your friends with the "Terren" race, spawn monsterous alien bug like creatures with the "Zerg", or send giant powerful flying carriers with the "Protoss". Each race has many different units with unique powers for you to explore. Try this game, it IS worth it!

Summary: Just. Well, Great!
Review: Ok. You little graphic hounds out there miss why this is such a great game. I've had it for a year now and it still is the best game i've ever played. The storyline? Simply the best. Never has there been a game with such a good story line. it carries out in the whole entire game. Multiplay on the internet is great. You can play computers or human, up to 8 players. you also can get rated for the number of wins you get. Simly, a must have!

Summary: BETTER THAN WARCRAFT
Review: I don't know what you people are thinking when you say that Starcraft is simply another Warcraft 2. I have played Starcraft for the better part of a year, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I, too, started out with Warcraft 2 and then discovered this game via a friend.

This game is wonderful. I mean, how long can it possibly take for people to imagine all this? It's amazing. The thought that humans would colonize space millions of light years from Earth and discover alien life forms that hate their guts is just...bewildering. The storyline that goes behind the game (which Warcraft lacked) is also interesting and entertaining, if not incredibly important.

This game (and it's Expansion, Brood War, which I also own and enjoy) truly shows that many people put hard work into it. Now, as for it's relation to Warcraft! Recently I dusted off the Warcraft 2 CD and popped it into my drive, just for laughs. It was amazing how completely AWFUL the game was compared to Starcraft! It was so simple and easy! I was glad that I had the comfort of knowing that Starcraft existed. How did we LIVE playing Warcraft 2? The game, compared to Starcraft, is petty and simple. This game, although similar in format, is MUCH better than Warcraft and it's sequel.

This game has created a legacy, one that will be hard to surpass.

Summary: Somewhat
Review: This game is-first of all- just cool. Y'know, wierd Sci-Fi junkies who worship X Files and what-not will not only like this game, they will do no other activity. Second of all, the story. All three races have an interesting storyline. Lastly, replay value. This is probably one of the highest replay values I've found. You can use over 20 programmed "extra" maps, you can make your own, and you can play aginst others on battle.net. In total, you have to be a Sci-Fi fan or freak to get into this stuff. Blizzard did a good job, even if it is a WarCraft spinoff.

Summary: The Best Game Ever
Review: Let's get one thing straight. I am biased. I love this game. I would even go so far as to say it is my favorite game. If that makes you mad then that's your problem.

First off we have the graphics. They are not 3d accelerated but they are very good and they get the job done.

Next we have the sound. I'd have to say that it is the best sound in any strategy game (although Total Annihilation comes close, in music anyway) The music is very good and fits each race. The terrans have a sort of rousing war-movie-like tune, the zerg have a wierd-sounding alien like one, and the protoss music is appropriately mystical. The sound effects fit the situation. (Gooshy biological sounding suff for the zerg, mechanical for the terran, wierd future-tech for the protoss)

Ultimately though, those are just the bells and whistles. The game-play is where it's at and that is where Starcraft truly excels. The biggest innovation here is the truly different races. In past games (can you say warcraft 2?), the opposing forces have the exact same units with different looks. In Starcraft they are really UNIQUE. Every side has its strengths and weaknesses and there are no real equivalent units.Every different match-up, whether it be protoss-zerg or terran-protoss requires a different strategy. The terrans are mobile and do well in combined-arms, the protoss are durable, powerful and expensive, and the zergs are numerous and frail. The single-player game plays out well with a ten mission campaign for each race. The campaigns are played out in a set order (terran, zerg, protoss) Why? So you can follow the STORY. Yes there is a story and it is very good too unlike most Real-time strategy games. Once you finish the single player game, then you can go online to Blizzard's free internet service for some of the best multiplayer action there is.

Starcraft is easily the best thing to come from the gods at Blizzard. It is the best real-time strategy game available. Bar-none.

Summary: The first and best... so far
Review: I got my iMac DV SE around Christmas last year, and StarCraft was the first game I bought for it. I doubt I could have made a better choice for my first foray into the Mac gaming world. Being a novice to RTS, StarCraft's shallow learning curve and tight graphics made it easy and enjoyable for a first-timer like myself to pick up and play and succeed. And, fortunately, the missions become harder as you (hopefully) become more familiar with the interface and the tactics needed to win. Although there have been angry rumblings about the Mac version coming out so long after the PC people got their taste, I say it was well, well worth the wait to have a chance to play such a fulfulling title.

Summary: A good work...
Review: Lets face it, starcraft is a revamp or rehash of warcraft I&II. Here are the Cons: 1. not exactly the best graphics...even for the time it came out. 2. same basic concept and way you play single player missions as W.C. I&II. 3. blizzard didn't exactly do the best job they could with making an engine. 4. blizzard games, by nature, are very addicting and this is definately no except. Pro: 1. simplistic-doesn't have many units, yet tons of strategies... 2. Fun...why the hell else would we play games? 3. multiplayer has tons of features...some of which i haven't used...and i've had it since 1997! Bottom Line: buy it if you like strategy games/warcraft II...but don't buy it for the graphics...trust me.
