Summary: More windoze...
Review: Microsoft tries yet again, but still cannot match the ease or power of the MacOs. And when will they learn to put disk icons on the desktop?

Summary: Great piece of software!
Review: When I bought this upgrade I was still using WINDOWS 98 and XP Home was much better you couldn't even compare it with 98. This is the greatest software Windows has released, ever! This piece is so good and works much faster than 98. If you are in a buisness, I highly reccomend WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL, it is the bst thing for a buisness that works fast. It has everything that XP Home has except like two new features that I can't remember.

Summary: My XP review! After a 1 month test drive!
Review: Our new PC is a HP Pavilion 753c that came with Windows XP Home Edition. This review will be breif, as I have only used it for a month now. My main Pros are that things that pointlessly took forever can now be done really quickly. Also, some features have been greatly expanded. My cons are that it is too "automatic". Sometimes, you need to do things manually, whih often isn't in XP. Also, I've already noticed some software compatibility probs. Could be better, could be worse. If only I had e-mail up and running, I could give XP home edition my actual rating, which is (drumroll please!):

3 1/2 stars!

Summary: Makes your PC easy to use
Review: I was skeptical of how good this software would be, but I was won over by the many wonderful features this product contains. I no longer have to install drivers for my peripheral devices. The software makes my camera so easy to use. I just plug my usb cable into my camera and the camera and scanner wizard opens to ask you what you want to do with the pictures. I used to have almost daily bluescreen errors with Windows 98, but have not had one since I installed Windows XP professional. It is really a wonderful thing.

Summary: I can't believe Microsoft made this
Review: Without exception, I have hated every other Microsoft product to be sold. While programs still occasionally crash for no apparent reason, the OS generally survives and keeps functioning on a decent level. This is by far the most stable microsoft product available. One hint: if the computer appears to be hopelessly locked up and your computer manufacturer was so arrogant as to not put a reset button on your box, pull the plug if you get tired of waiting, but make sure and let the check disk run unmolested when you restart.

Summary: Irreconcilable Incompatibility Issues
Review: Windows XP is impossible! I just bought a new laptop, P4, running XP, unfortunately. Most of my existing software - many programs I depend on for my work - do not work with XP, not compatible. Even some popular online service software does NOT work with XP. Windows 98 and ME are far superior. With XP, I have to consider buying all new versions of software; unfortunately, many of the popular programs I use are not available in Windows XP compatible versions! There is no simple solution, but XP [stinks] majorly!

Summary: It works, but it can be intensely frustrating
Review: To start, this is without a doubt the best operating system that microsoft has come up with to date. Really it's the first OS that they've made that I've been happy with on a day to day usage basis.

My chief complaint is that although with each successive version of win* they tend to make configuration simpler and more automated for the common user in the most common case, they always do this at the expense of people that know what they're doing. Looking for how, where, and in what new and creative way they've obfuscated setting x this time around, has made we want to scream and put 'my fist' through 'my monitor' more than a few times. This cost them a star.

Another star was lost because of the inexplicable continuation of their incredibly asinine 'my' naming convention. They use the word 'my' over and over with the reckless ego mad enthusiam of a deranged two year old. It's annoying and unnecessary.

Summary: Resource Hog
Review: If you want your computer to run slower, this is the OS for you. It took me three days to install this hog, and it made a mess of my HD, then when I tried to connect to the Net, it crashed at least a dozen times. I just yanked it off my HD and re-installed my old system. When I tried to call MS to complain, I was put in Hold mode for over an hour. Save your money and time - don't buy this piece of junk.

Summary: Best operating system yet
Review: This upgrade is absolutely worth the money. XP is far more stable than its predecessors, and boots up very quickly. One of its best features is the file and transfer wizard which makes upgrading to a new PC a snap. Another great feature is auto update which makes sure you've got all the patches and new versions as they are released.

Summary: You can't get much worse...
Review: I recently go this XP Pro deal and I have to say one thing, AWFUL! The only reason why I didn't give this 1 star is because of it's new sleek design, other than that, it's terrible. Half of the stuff I used to be able to run on Windows 98 SE doesn't run with XP Pro. I have tried reinstalling, everything, no matter, it won't work. I get very angry with this...now I can see why some people are so objective towards XP! If you want a good OS, get 2000...XP is awful.
