Description:

This product is a license. The software that is described below must be purchased separately.

Novell Small Business Suite (NSBS) features NetWare 5.1, NDS eDirectory, and GroupWise 5.5. In addition, this suite contains key partner products, including IBM WebSphere, Network Associates VirusScan and NetShield, Tobit FaxWare 6, and others. If you have 50 or fewer concurrent users on your single-site network, NSBS is a good tool to help you organize business processes and support expansion onto the Internet.

Included in NSBS, NetWare 5.1 offers new Web- and application-server technologies, such as NetWare Enterprise Web Server and IBM WebSphere Application Server 3.0, Standard Edition. In conjunction with BorderManager Enterprise Edition 3.5 Firewall (a proxy/caching product that also is included in Novell Small Business Suite 5.1), these NetWare 5.1 technologies secure, simplify, and accelerate the processes of Web application development and deployment. NetWare 5.1 also includes NDS eDirectory, which is a full-service, platform-independent directory that serves as the foundation for numerous e-business services.

Because small businesses rarely employ a formal IT staff, several convenient administrative features make NSBS an attractive solution. Simplified setup and management tasks can be performed with the Novell Easy Administration Tool. In addition, ConsoleOne and ZENworks Starter Pack 2.0 provide advanced administrative options, whether you rely on a trained Novell reseller to manage your system or choose to do it yourself. A final benefit, NetWare 5.1 Management Portal enables you to perform server and file-system management tasks from any Web browser on your network.
