Summary: disappointing
Review: I liked "Myst," absolutely loved "Riven" but was disappointed with "Exile." Partly it was the graphics, I often ended up clicking all over the screen because it was difficult to find things. I liked the puzzles well enough, especially the magnetic world, but I did find the plant world tedious and the last world a let-down; the game ends very abruptly, I wanted to go off to those other islands.

This game isn't as challenging as "Riven" and it isn't as exciting as "Myst." Still, if you like the series, you'll probably want to buy this one. Fwiw, my husband liked it more than I did.

Summary: Would have enjoyed it better without the 360 degree spin
Review: Firstly, I love Riven - absolutely adore the game! I've also played Myst 01 and the Journeyman series. However, Myst 03: Exile didn't quite fit up to the rest for me. Why? It makes me dizzy. Honestly, I could play the game, but I couldn't play for longer than 10 minutes at a time until I worked out how to slow the revolving screen view by right-clicking the mouse - and even then it only allowed me to struggle my way through the game's labyrinth at about 3/4 an hour a time. I play Riven and Journeyman not for the adventure, but the visuals and it's hard to enjoy the scenery when you're suffering from a 'Quake' sized headache. I wish that the producers had done the 360 view like Journeyman 03 and not as they had chosen to do. I won't buy 'Uru'. The threat of being mentally incapacitated for a few hours subsequent to playing is too great and I'm not going to risk it.

Pity. It's a good game otherwise.

Summary: A+game!!!!
Review: As a family we had played the original Myst even though we did get some hints it kept us busy for a long time and it was extremely fun. Then for my tenth birthday I got Exile and to this day we still havn't beat it though are on the last world. This game has exellent graphics and is a ton of fun if you're looking to sit down and solve mind bending puzzles. This game carries the worthy title of a Myst game. It's a great buy!!

Summary: Great game game! Great puzzles!
Review: I just got Myst 3 Exile for Christmas, and I've beaten it! No hints either! Yes, it does have hard puzzles but if you got more then one person playing you can solve them. I recommend playing this game with a friend. You know what they say, Two Heads are better then one!

I've beat the first Myst and this one Myst 3 Exile. Makes me thinking about taking on Riven next.

Summary: wish there were more adventure games like this
Review: I just bought the game and am really enjoying it. Beautiful graphics, challenging puzzles, and an "E" rating. I wish there were a lot more games with these three qualities. I also really enjoy the navigation, animations, and the live actors.

Summary: Beautiful
Review: I received Myst III: Exile a long time ago, played it, had fun, and then put it in the back of my storage shelf. I've always loved the whole Myst series. They all contain so many picturesque scenes that make me wish I could exist in that colorful world. After just recently digging this game out to try again out of curiousity, I've come to a new appreciation for the game.

The people who made the story, puzzles, and graphics must all be geniuses. This series of games has been like nothing I've ever played before.

Myst III by far has better graphics than Myst and Riven. Its puzzles are also refreshing considering that the puzzles in Riven forced me to lose the will to live (excessively hard puzzles...tedious). It keeps in format with the original Myst in that you have a main island that is connected to other worlds by the written books (this was not mostly the case in Riven because of the tracks).

The sound schemes are inredible. The short, moody songs with the graphics to make stuff really good. The combination of the two elements of sight and sound make me feel like I'm really in that beautiful world. It's truly an amazing feeling.

Summary: More games like this..
Review: I must say that I'm rather disappointed with a lot of the games out there now. Myst series is an exception. I think there should be more games like Myst 3:Exile. And now with Uru, I felt that it's great to see that this story continues. However, I must say I'm extremely disappointed to learn from Cyan themselves, that there will not be a PS2 version of Uru! Yes, according to them there will not be a PS2 version due to the "complexity of the game's requirements", or something like that. What a huge let down. But, Myst 3 on the PS2 proves that a unique and great quality game such as Myst 3 can be ported onto the PS2 platform. Exile is such a beautiful game. I found myself "wanting" to visit these places because they are so tranquile, so life like. Beautiful oceans, fantastic places. Just an awesome game. Characters (few there were) are nice. This whole "Full Motion" integration with the graphics is definitely a plus. I love the puzzles in here. Although they are intuitive and some of them were common sense, they were very good nonetheless. Also, I don't like puzzles that require you to "write" down or draw the pictures or symbols you see. If I was there in that world and needed to solve a puzzle, there wouldn't be a pad and pencil on me, so why require one from the person playing the game?

But, all in all I think Exile was a great experience and I hope something changes to where they bring the new one Uru, to the PS2.

Summary: Never should have gone outside Cyan
Review: The people responsible for Riven were apparently not involved in this game. If a sequel to MYST and riven is to be made, it should be better than at least one of them-MYST III is not. That said, the artwork is wonderful. I just think that this game lacks the clasic, novel FEEL of Riven. I'm staying with this series for now, but MYST III has severely weakened my hopes that Uru is worth buying. Please note that that is a reflection on MYST III, not Uru.

Summary: What??? Not for impatient gamers?!?
Review: Exile was so much fun -- I solved it in 8 days! And gosh...I'm a guurrrl!! I have NO PATIENCE whatsoever, and no mechanical abilities to boot...but, the game was a hoot! It just takes a little common sense. My husband, who IS mechanically inclined, was a bit perturbed with me!

Buy the game! The graphics are great!!

Summary: Not as good as previous two titles
Review: Myst III is definitely not as amazing nor innovative as Myst or Riven. This games uses bubble vision which allows 360 degree view. I personally believe that this lessens the ambience and immersive feeling of the game. The graphics are good as computer games go but they definitely do not live up to the amazing photorealism of Riven. The story is probably the weakest point of all. I feel that the creators just threw in some random person that somehow becomes a villain. Previous concepts from Myst are re-used in the story, and the game doesn't seem to alter the main story of Myst, that was started in the first installment. All in all it's a good computer game that I would recommend to people who appreciated Myst and Riven, but as Myst games go it was, in my opinion, the weekest one.

Note: This game was produced by Presto Studios, not Cyan.
