Summary: FIRST REAL LIFE SIMULATOR
Review: Any number of things can go wrong (or right) with your Sims. The way you treat them leads them to greatness or poorness. I especially like the life of crime feature with the Sims--you can do just about anything! I'm very glad that someone released it for Mac.

Summary: Depressing game
Review: Yes, the Sims can be pretty addictive. You're trapped in suburbia, with all the daily concerns that go with that: you have to remember to take the trash out, go to work, clear up, take a shower, network with the neighbours, and pee. It's impossible, once you've created these people, not to mind what happens to them -- I felt pretty awful when they threatened to take my Sims baby into care. But on another level, it all seems deeply trivial. In that sense, it's like the worst of real life -- not really what I want from a fantasy game. I like games which have a bit of glamour, and which offer me the chance of something I don't have in real life -- like World Domination, for instance. I'm also too ambitious for the purposelessness of the Sims: I want to be able to make progress and eventually win -- there's no such thing as winning in this game. If the idea of controlling people on the most microscopic level is enough for you, you may find the Sims fun. If you want to control people, but you also want to dream of a different kind of life, and if you're interested in politics and town planning as well as the domestic/suburban idyll, you're better off with Age of Empires, Caesar III (if only they made Caesar IV), Tropico, or Civilization.

Summary: STOP!
Review: The Sims is a fantastic game, and I had wanted it for a long time. Every time I saw it it was for Windows and PC. So I was pretty excited when I found it in a tiny MAC shop. The first night after I bought it, I made a single sim named Monica who moved into a one room bachelor pad. Monica now lives in a mansion with her husband and three kids. The surprising thing is that I did it all without a cheat code. The Sims truly is a game of strategy. I have pushed relationships to the extreme (marriage) and others to the lowest (Coronation Street style fights). I have made kids get A's and go to military school. I have made people who go to work in limousines.

And I am still no Sim pro. In other words, one does NOT need cheat codes to get their Sims to the top. This game is definitely worth your while.

Summary: Sim World Rocks!
Review: I'm a late bloomer and just got this game with the expansion pack 'Livin' Large'. I just didn't want to pay $50 for it for Mac and finally found it on ebay. I can't tell you how much fun I'm having! I'm still on the tutorial and will play that until I can really get a feel for the game. I dreamt about my sims, I became so addicted in such a short amount of time. I haven't found any drawbacks yet. The only thing is I can't seem to figure out how to delete windows, and I'm not sure how to build upper floors.

The game is very complex and not only does it take up hours in game play, it takes up hours in figuring out what to do -- which is a good thing because Sims are smart, and the way they interact and react is hilarius. You have to keep an eye on them though, my male Sim was heading to the TV when he was supposed to be going to work and I had to redirect him. But it's SO MUCH FUN, I can literally stay up until two and three am playing. Some reviewer posted a money cheat and I'm going to try it because it takes my Sims too long to make money for me to make them happy. They ask me for stuff I can't afford to give them until THEY bring home the dough. Again, EXTREMELY FUN AND ADDICTIVE TO PLAY, and not for anyone who doesn't like to sit at a computer playing for long hours or who wants to just dive in and play without learning some standards first or understanding complex game play. This is better than Zoo Tycoon (for mac). I wish I had more games like this (for mac) to compare it too. I want Sims 2 for mac!

Summary: Best Computer Game, Very Addicting
Review: I bought The Sims when it first came out about 4-5 years ago. After I first started playing it I was hooked and not surprisingly this i the only computer game that I play besides tetris. Anyways this game is awesome, with all of the expansion packs this game is the best it gives you total creative control. Even though there is not a set goal in this game there are goals and different things to try and accomplish if you want to. Also I love all of the different expansion packs that they have added onto this game. Even though The Sims 2 is now released, I don't plan on getting it for two reasons. One reason is that it won't run on either of my new computers and 2ndly I think that The Sims 1 is better. I believe that nothing can compare to the origional and the same can be said about The Sims 1 and all of its expansion packs. I think that the sims 1 with all of its expansion packs is better than the sims two. I don't get why Maxis wanted to make another hipper version of the sims but they did and i respect their decision I just think that the origional is better. The saying holds true here "if it's not broke than don't fix it". The Sims 1 with all of it's expansions is a awesome game and will continue to be for years to come. I just hope that with the release of the sims 2 Maxis doesn't forget about the orgional sims. The Sims 1 is awesome even though it's 4-5 years old.

Review: i think macs are really cool and better than windows computers and i was not wrong. The only problem with mac computers is that because windows is a more popular platform i have had trouble trying to find good games for it. i kept looking for good mac games and eventually i found this. The most addictive game ever on mac!! i bought it and i was not dissapointed. I have spent so many hours on this game and i play it a lot. I think they should release sims 2 on mac too because mac is the best

Summary: A Great Computer Game
Review: The Sims is a great computer game, but it does not suffice for all your computer-gaming needs. You'll need another game to switch off with it when it gets old. I have Age of Empires II to play when I get sick of it, and then when I'm sick of Age of Empires I switch back to The Sims!
