Review: When I first heard of this simulation being released for PC, I must admit I was skeptical. I mean, it sounds crazy to consider simulating life. I assumed any success of the game would be due to the popularity of past "Sim" games. Never have I been so wrong! When The Sims was released for PC, and met instant fortune, I knew I had to have a Mac port ASAP! We owe this wonderful port to Aspyr because you simply couldn't release a great game without support for a great computer. So, "The Sims" has managed to allow the ordinary gamer, to become some persons fate. Scary as it is, it is also intoxicating, to have someones life in our hands. You will be tempted to ruin some lives, and start others... all of this is possible with "The Sims." Many people don't know, but the creator of "The Sims" had originally set out to create an architecture game. Eventually, he realized that he was adding more and more people to the point where people were the game, and architecture, a commodity. Regardless, the original theme has carried over to "The Sims" and the user may design his sim's home and property. Maybe one of the coolest tricks... is that of the shopping. Gamers can buy their sims new things (ie. TVs, furniture, etc...) only enhancing the reality of this game. But of course, there's more... While the game is not about romance, there is enough to keep it from being rated "E for Everyone". Still, it isn't too much for the average kid. It IS a family game, after all. I certainly hope this review was helpful. Perhaps you're ordering now. Or maybe you can't handle being a god? Whatever.... just ORDER NOW!

Summary: The Virtual Doll House
Review: The Sims has become the most popular computer game in history, with a vibrant online community, numerous downloadable skins and objects, and three expansion sets, with more likely on the way. Its popularity has something to do with its widespread appeal, attracting parents, children of all ages, and others who might fall under the category of the atypical gamer. It is also easy to learn and easy to play. Create some characters, assign them strengths and weakness, then increase their capabilities by assigning them various tasks. Need more physical strength? Then lift weights. Passing out on the floor? Then get some sleep. Get them to work, get the kids to school. All very logical. The difficulty comes in trying to juggle the multiple activities of all the various characters that the player has created. I suspect this juggling act may be another reason for its appeal. People are now trying to "multitask" like their computers, cell phone in one hand, steering wheel in the other. But in The Sims the consequences of this are harmless-to us anyway, not to them. Failure in The Sims can actually be quite entertaining, success a little bit dull. The problem I had with the game is that I lost interest in it fairly quickly. Once your characters have reached their maximum skill levels, there isn't much to do with them. Here is where The Sims turns into a doll house. The only interest comes from changing wardrobes or jobs, or buying stuff and arranging it. All the tedium of life but little of its joy. Still, many people are fascinated by The Sims. It can be, at turns, humorous and hypnotic. The building aspects of the game allow you to be your own construction worker, landscaper, and interior designer. You can create two sims with diametrically opposed personalities, then throw them together and see what happens. Sims have their own language and gestures. You can watch their fortunes rise and fall based on your actions or inaction. Some will thrive, some will die. I was not as excited by The Sims as many people obviously are, but I do agree that there is nothing else quite like it.

Review: The Sims is a great computer game, but it does not suffice for all your computer-gaming needs. You'll need another game to switch off with it when it gets old. I have Age of Empires II to play when I get sick of it, and then when I'm sick of Age of Empires I switch back to The Sims!

Summary: Quite possibly the most inventive game in history
Review: THis is the most creative game of history. You control the sims lives. It's great cause you can totally screw their lives up if your so suited. Or you can propell them to unprecented fame. You even build their houses. You can torment them as much as your mind wishes. but the best feature is the create-a-sim, which allows you make a sim. You can make yourself and your friends or just bs it. This is a fun game that is a great source of entertainment. The only reason it didn't get five stars is cuz it can and does get old. But that's what the expansion pack(s) are for. I suggest you buy the sims wait a few months then buy the expansion packs.

Summary: my laptop battery is running low
Review: Be very careful with this game. It is so much fun and so addicting that you will find all your conversations beginning with : "Guess what my sims did today?" I have had this for 2 weeks now and most of my spare time is spent playing the game. I do not normally play video/computer games! It is complex, challenging and SO MUCH FUN. Create ex-boyfriends - stick them in a room, then delete the door. Watch them die! (if you have a sick sense of humor). Make all the women sims fall in love with each other! Think before you have a baby. You'll never have fun or peace and quiet again. You can drag your mp3s into the music folders (music->stations->rock or latin, country, classical) and have the sims listen to the music you want! For the mac version, to use the cheat to get more simoleons : hold down shift+command+c in the upper left corner you'll get a window, type in rosebud. This cheat is wonderful if you like to build big impressive houses, castles with moats even! Why make your sims work when they can be millionares and concentrate all energy on falling in love?! If you aren't a cheater then buy a computer which makes job hunting so much easier. Find the cheat to see your sims au natural online... This game is sooooo addicting that you may find yourself dreaming of sims - thinking of things to do to them while you are away from your computer and then wondering how _your_ bladder is doing! Love, life, food, death, drama, music, money! What more could you want? I can't wait for Livin' Large to arrive at my door!

Summary: Help...I Need Sleep!
Review: Be warned, their is a major flaw in this game...Its too darn addictive! This is quite possibly Will Wright's (creator of SimCity) masterpiece. Begin by making your perfect Sim (or Frankensim), then move them into one of the 6 prefabricated houses or build your dream house (or shack). Then choose from 10 different career tracks, from Life of Crime (begin as Pickpocket end as Mob Boss) to Law Enforcement (begin as Security Guard end as Seceret Agent). Once you buy the bare nessisities of life (toilet, fridge, bed, chair), get those Sims a moving! The AI (artificial intelligence) on this game is amazing, yet your Sims still can benifit from your wonderful management (or mismanagment if that tickles your fancy) of their every move. As you move up in your Sim Life hire a french maid (ooo la la) to do the cleaning for you. Call friends over, fall in love and get married. Have up to six kids but make sure they study or it's off to military school for them (I dont know but I've been told, scrubbing latrines gets mighty old). The best part is that you can't win the game (come on it's Maxis) so you can just have fun.

Summary: Magic little people in your computer...
Review: I was introduced to the Sims about 4 months ago and I haven't spent much time away from my computer since. The game is addictive and absolutly engaging. Tims passes without you even noticing. Pros:
-You can create many different characters and dress them in lots of cool clothing. -You get to build houses and decorate them any way you choose. -There is the option of having your Sims think for themselves or have you make decisions for them. -You can create little scenarios, soap operas in the Neighborhood, for example have the loving housewife have torrid affairs with all her neighbors, oh what trouble you can cause...hehehe Cons:
-Time slips by in the REAL world very quickly...you might miss going to work. -The characters you create become so realistic that you might not remember which is reality...:o) -HIGHLY ADDICTIVE! Well, most of those aren't really cons...but still. This game is wonderful and a great way to chill out for a few hours. Gameplay continues for as long as you want it to, and it doesn't get boring!

Summary: Dangerous, Addictive, Fun
Review: The Sims is an awesome game, especially when running on an 867 MHz G4! This game allows you to control the lives of a number of Sims and direct their daily interactions down to very minute detail. Albeit, the play can get tedious and frustrating sometimes, but so life goes, real or Sim. I find myself always looking forward to witnessing the fruits of the decisions I have my Sims make. With the expansion packs, most available or soon to be available for the Macintosh, the depth of the game should be increased even more. This is a really great game and you'll have hours and hours of fun. I call it dangerous because I'm a college student and I'll have to keep myself from playing it at all lest I start and wind up quitting 16 hours later when I can't keep my eyes open any longer. Definitely a must have, especially for the Macintosh.

Review: The Sims is a unique and fun game which you would probanly love!you can create a person (a man or woman)and move into a house or you can build a house for your sim/s.then you can buy alot of neat things to put into your house!After your all moved in you can make your sim/s do all sorts of things,your controling their lives!The Sims is a brilliant game and everyone would probably enjoy it.I also have a great cheat for those of you who have imacs for the sims.while you are playing the game,press apple,control,shift,and C at the same time and a little box should appear at the top left of the screen.type in klapaucius and if that doesnt do anything type in rosebud.then,get the little box to come up again and press !;!;!; as many times as you want.Then look at your amount of money and be amazed! The sims is such a fun game to play. You can't lose or win. It's like real life. You get to choose what your sims moods are and what they're appearance will look like. You can even create a sim that looks like yourself and control your own life in the sims. This game is the coolest game I have ever boughten.
