Summary: Really Solid Beginners Tool
Review: After years of not playing, I just purchased a new guitar and got myself back into playing regularly. One of the things I needed help with was brushing up on chords and chord progressions, as well as having some simple lessons to follow to build my hand strength and chord memory. The eMedia Guitar Method CD is the perfect tool for beginners. It walks through simple things, like stringing and tuning a guitar, and gradually builds a players abilities through lessons designed to help a new player grow to an intermediate level fairly quickly.The best thing about this CD is that it is like having an instructor led class right in front of you on your computer screen. The CD utilizes video, audio and animated fretboards to make all the lessons easy to follow, and they can be followed at a pace that works for each user (most lessons and songs offer slow versions and normal versions). In addition to the lessons, there is a computer based string tuner that uses a PC microphone to help new users to tune their guitar (although I still prefer a pitch pipe or chromatic tuner), a chord dictionary that diagrams 250 chords (I never knew there were that many chords out there), and a computer based metronome. Overall, this is a great tool for any beginning guitar player.

Review: Great CD-ROM for learning to play the guitar. I found I could take my time in learning instead of being rushed with lessons. Very complete.

Summary: Good Songs
Review: Guitar Method is sweet. I tried to have friends teach me how to play back in the day but I got frustrated way too quick thus frustrating my friends. The cd rom was great because it spent time showing me the fingering and It never got frustrated. I've done GM1 and GMsongs now i play better than most of my friends! Trust me this program is easy and it will keep your interest, plus it has great songs from the 60s and 70s.

I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to learn the guitar. 2 other things on amazon I would recommend with this software: Pick the Right Guitar : The Guitar Buyer's Handbook and The Guitar Handbook. With these resources you'll be well on the way to playing like the legends.

Review: I had no musical experience/background before. This software gets you in FAST. You have fun with it, too. No boring excerises, they teach you by learning simple first, and very gradually moving on. Outstanding software package. An absolute MUST HAVE if you are beginning guitar.

Review: I was given a guitar for Christmas and didn't know a thing about them. Having played piano for years, my friend thought it would be easy for me to learn. I was a little bit skepticle, but I decided to try with this CD-ROM. It was recommended by a friend. Let's just say that I started playing right after Christmas... and within one month I am playing and singing a bunch of songs! This CD-ROM is made so well... each lesson really builds upon the prior ones, and the learning is fun. You are learning songs while you are learning the guitar (not just annoying scales, chords, etc.). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DISC.

Summary: eMedia Guitar Method 1 v1.2
Review: If you are new to guitar playing, then this program is for you. The program is fairly easy to grasp and you'll be surprised at how fast you learn to play. The only complaint I have is that the program advances a little to quickly, so I find myself reviewing the lesson several times. But, it's an excellent guide and I definitely plan to buy Method 2.
