Rating: Summary: Best Paint Program Review: Having used Paint Shop Pro since version 3 and owned it since version 5, I, like many other budget-minded computer art enthusiasts, swear by Paint Shop Pro and Jasc Software. With Paint Shop Pro 7, it only gets better. I found this for an absolute bargain and probably paid sixty dollars less than it normally costs. For a person like me, it is still an excellent deal for a program I use practically everyday.PSP7 is an awesome value. You get the program on one CD and two manuals, one of which is over 500 pages in length and describes every facet of the program. The closest thing to it is Adobe Photoshop. Even though Photoshop does have a few features that PSP7 doesn't, I don't think they are necessarily worth five hundred more. Just because a program is not mainstream does not mean it is unworthy. Stepping up from PSP5, PSP7 has everything it did and then some. Really, unless there it is some arcane feature I don't use, there isn't anything missing, be it gradients or the emboss filter. Granted, things are in slightly different locations than before. Be prepared to work with PSP7 for a couple days before getting used to where everything moved to. PSP7 has everything you'd expect a graphics package like it to have - layers, plenty of filters and brushes, vectors and lines, and so much more. Extremely stable, has never crashed on me even when dealing with complex images exceeding 20 layers in size. Wonderful software.
Rating: Summary: Crash Prone Review: Any benefits this program provides is negated by the frequent crashes my computer has suffered as a result of having this program installed. Finally junked the program.
Rating: Summary: Endless possibilities for all levels!! Review: I'd say this is the only graphic tool one needs. I've tried a few others, but none have been this easy to use with an endless number of possibilities. Either you want to create design to use on the web, or personal thing that you wish to print and either give to others or keep yourself, Paint Shop Pro is the ultimate graphic tool that will make your dreams come true. There are tutorials for making all kinds of things that can be found on the web without having to search too much. But if you're not interested in tutorials, you can just play with it and learn that way. It is not hard at all. By buying Paint Shop Pro, you get a lot for your money, and you will soon find out, it can get very addicting. And there's always new stuff you will learn, that you never thought would be possible! If you want to learn how to make your own design for pages on the web, then I would say that this package (which includes Animation Shop as well, that you can use to make small animations) is the best way to start! And this is also the program that I recommend to my members in my webdesign group on MSN.
Rating: Summary: Terrific Software Review: The first thing I was thankful for when I open the box was a User Manual. I am frustrated when I buy software and all there is the CD. The animation and photo shop are definitely worth the price.
Rating: Summary: I Love It!!! Review: Ok, so it only came today, but I had an older version of PSP and have been playing with the demo and knew I had to get this version. PSP 7.0 far outweighs ANY graphics programme out there. I have seen it compared to Photoshop and that is a programme I have as well. Photoshop may do some things PSP can't do, but the fact is, PSP is a heckuva lot more user friendly than PS is. I've had PS for 5 years and it manages to irritate me everytime I open it. PSP is a breeze and I have learned how to use it, for the most part, on my own. Also, PSP has always been sold at an extremely reasonable price. My apologies to Adobe products users/lovers, but their products are so far out of my meagre budget that I'll never be able to buy them unless they are a gift like my old PS was. Currently there are a couple of rebates which I hope will not cause me any trouble. I've had problems before with software and rebates... so we'll see. My one disappointment is that you are supposed to get uploading access to StudioAvenue.com - a photo-sharing community, and you do not. There is a notification in the box that says they can no longer do this. Ah well. Still, the programme is terrific and I definately recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Not Yet Review: I once had the JASC trial of it, and I am getting it very soon. When I had the trial, I did not use it much. THEN i found out how helpful it is! Now I'm begging my parents to get it for me! It should be fun! Buy it now!
Rating: Summary: None for iMacs Review: Too bad you don't have this for iMacs!! Once again we feel left out in the cold!!
Rating: Summary: Good graphics program Review: I own a website and Paint Shop Pro is a great way to create the graphics that go on my site. There are hundreds of effects I can use to make each graphic unique. I haven't worked with it much on editting photographs, but I've heard it's effective in that as well. For those of you who aren't familiar with Paint Shop Pro, think of it as a MS Paint program with dozens of other features. That being said, it can get pretty complicated, especially for someone who has never worked with a graphics program before. To help things, check on buying Paint Shop Pro for Dummies. (Yes, such a book does exist.) Paint Shop Pro costs quite a bit of money, so think carefully about how you're going to use it. It'll be a waste of money if you rarely make graphics or edit pictures. If you plan on using it only occasionally, such as once every 5 months, I suggest finding a different program. It can get confusing with the various tools, so think about how easily you get frustrated.
Rating: Summary: Somewhat clunky interface Review: I first have to admit that my primary reason for buying this software was for editing digital camera images, so I ignore a large part of the artistic functions offered. I wanted to replace the Photoshop LE software that came with my camera. There are many nifty features for photo editing, many of them automated, which work quite nicely when you can figure them out. There is little pop-up help, but pretty good full help screens. I don't like most of the key shortcuts used - very clunky, like shift-R to finalize a crop. If you don't have a wheel mouse, zooming is a pain using the menus only. Not for beginners who will soon be frustrated.
Rating: Summary: An excellent Photo Imaging Program Review: This program has so many options to work with it will ever keep you busy. I have had it for alomst a year now and am still discovering more uses for this program. It is great if you enjoy making fanarts or manips. It is easy to learn and great for many different options.
