Summary: A Professional Step Up!
Review: Finally Microsoft has created a photo-editing product that really does the job. With a simple, easy to use interface that invites the user to experiment with its many features Image Pro7 really makes it enjoyable and easy to manipulate and perfectionise photos. With all the compulsary features for removing red-eyes and giving photos the best lighting. This product is really a match to Photoshop Elements. Image Pro 7 includes thousands of templates to get you started on that special project, whether its creating Calendars or Greeting cards, Image Pro 7 is a true master. I always stress, products like these will never reach the standard of Photoshop 7, but it does compromise features that allow novice and first time users to complete task more quickly and easily.
The interface slightly resembles PhotoDraw, a wonderful Office application I sadly miss, some of the elements have been incorporated into this product to make intermidiate users feel more at home. For the first time user, I really recommend this product and for people who want to complete a specific photo-editing task quick this is really the one. With thousands of templates, easy to use editing tools, a wonderful interface, what more could you ask for at a great price!

Summary: A Decent Product, But Not As Good As Adobe Photoshop
Review: For the amateur photographer, Picture It! Digital Image Pro 7 will be a very useful tool. You can adjust resolution, crop and rotate, and add effects to photos quickly and easily. However, for those looking for a more powerful tool for professional-level projects you would be better off picking up a copy of Adobe Photoshop.

For the money, this isn't a bad deal. Just don't expect miracles. Recommended for the casual/amateur user.

Summary: Entry level performance, not suitable for serious editing
Review: I am giving this one star only because the review form won't allow ZERO stars! This program really excited me --- all the things you could do with your photos ---- add flash, adjust the backlighting ---- WOW! All the reviews I read sounded absolutely awesome!!! I reviewed the system requirements and found that my older computer system did meet those requirements. Although I thought this program a bit pricey, I wanted the capabilities this program would supposedly provide and so eventually I did break down and spend the money. Imagine my dismay when I discovered this software would NOT run on my computer... my initial thought was that perhaps some glitch in my older system would not support this software after all... I have now purchased a new computer and with an operating speed of 2.5Ghz and 512Mb RAM there is (in my opinion) no reason why this program should not operate properly and yet.... every time I attempt to open a picture (in any format), the program crashes so fast that it simply "disappears"..... when you attempt to resolve the issue with tech support, you are directed to self-help that reveals a multitude of documents addressing known incompatibility issues... their "suggestions" for resolving those issues include: 1) run in 256 colors 2) run in 640 x 480 mode....... I have not yet attempted "live" tech support and I do not know whether or not I will bother; my inclination is to write this off as just another overpriced mistake. Don't waste your money on this one!

Summary: I love this product, it is so easy to use
Review: I have been using picture it since version 2.0. It is very easy to use and has an excellent interface. The interface has improved. I hated the 2001 updated interface so much I did not upgrade to 2002. This interface is so much better than the 2001 interface. I have had some issues trying to print my older .mix files. Had to save them as .jpg. Otherwise my system would just lockup. I recommend this product, it is well worth the money.

Summary: What's different?
Review: I have loved all the Picture It products and have gotten each upgrade. I thought this one, I guess based on price, would be even more fantastic. I still haven't found anything special, other than more graphics and layouts, to justify "upgrading" to this version vs. the Picture It Publishing Platinum. I'm disappointed. (I would give Picture It in general a 5. It's great for making photos into watercolors, etc.)
