Rating: Summary: Really good set of limitless filters Review: Overview. This set of filters is very versatile and by using the sliders with each separate filter, the results are almost limitless. Features. A collection of nine individual Photoshop compatible filters. Each has it's own set of calibrations to create unique effects. Full-color 110 page booklet, contains instructions and descriptions. Very easy to use. Use on any bitmapped image. Windows and Mac supported. Description. The filters allow an amazing number of changes to any image, and presets are already loaded, so experimenting is easy. Each change of effect may be saved, so you can go back to whichever one you liked by comparing all the effects you have saved. Your own presets can be saved and installed each time you use the program. The booklet contains really helpful information on what each of the blending modes will do. This is important because a lot of this functionality is ignored by the beginner. Seeing the different results in color is an important way of explaining what is likely to happen. I never could work it out from text descriptions. The workspace can be set up in whatever form you choose, and then saved in the manner that best suits your working practices. Fluid effects can be saved as a movie which gives much more interesting effects. Gradient effects are very detailed and once again the blending modes are explained by graphic images, not text. Hyper Ttiling mode allows for some very interesting effects and can be used with transparency to allow the overlaying of one image on another. This effect allows rotation of images to view in 3D modes. Ink Dropper can give the effect of different colors and viscosities as they are dropped onto paper. Lightning can apply a realistic lightning effect, but can also be used to add other colors and blending modes and variations of the number of streaks and branches. Pyramid paint works with color and threshold and intensity. The mechanics of this are easier to see when using the filter than using explanations. Finally, Scatter allows the importation or manipulation of particles to add variation to your image. Of course you can import any image you have saved from any filter and put it in any other filter and re-work the image. Bottom Line. This set of filters are a lot of fun and the controls are really simple and the effects are easy to view in real time to decide if you want to save it or not. Saving the distortion at any time, with the ability to return to that state if you feel that you need to, is very useful. A very good and well balanced set of filters. Well worth investigating if you need/want very powerful and interesting effects, not just distortion. They can complement any filters you already have, and don't duplicate any standard ones you may have.
