Rating: Summary: Pathetic Support Review: As mentioned in other reviews, the support from Ahead Software is sorely lacking. The website does not have a searchable knowledge base and the FAQs are poorly done and missing some known errors. When installing the program I kept getting the dreaded error 6 copy file error. I am trying to download the very latest version off the web and using my serial number to activate it. If this doesn't work I will be taking this product back.
Rating: Summary: Great Upgrade! Review: Installed from files downloaded from Nero's website, then immediately used the program to copy its own installation files to CD with no problem whatever. I use Win 98SE.
Rating: Summary: Review of Roxio and Nero Review: Unfortunately, Nero (Ahead software), unlike Roxio, is still a company lacking business maturity. Nero does not have a phone number listed on their website, and after calling directory assistance for a phone number, the number just rings to an answering machine. Like many immature dot com companies in the 90's, Nero has insulated themselves and their Brand from any personal contact with the public other then email. This is the forewarning of a company already in trouble. Roxio has their 800 number posted right on their website, and they answered the phone right away. I quickly had my questions answered, and they were incredible helpful and professional. Roxio has business maturity, and is positioned to be around for years to come. My recommendation is to go with the professional company, Roxio.

THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE SOFTWARE IS THAT SOMETIMES IT WILL SHOW THAT NERO-VISION2 HAS A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE, HENCE IT WILL NOT ENCODE MY VCD'S SOMETIMES AND YET OTHER TIMES IT WORKS. IS THIS A PROBLEM WITH THE NEW NERO 6 NOT SUPPORTING XP OR WHAT? OTHER THAN THIS PROBLEM I LOVE THIS PRODUCT AND DEFINATELY A BEST YET FOR NERO. PLEASE CAN SOME-ONE HELP. A FRUSTRATED NERO FAN NEEDS HELP!!!!!!! PLEASE.
Rating: Summary: Another install problem Review: I also received the same error. I tried a half dozen things I could think of. It would not install. I was using Nero 5. Hopefully I can still install the old version.
Rating: Summary: no problems Review: i downloaded this program and installed it without any problems on win xp.it probably is less user friendly than easy cd creator but their are myriad modules to utilize .if one does not need dvd application softwear a cheaper program would be advisable.personally,i very much like this softwear esp for the dvd applications
Rating: Summary: Finally, software that works with XP Review: There have been some complaints of problems with this software but installation on my computer went smoothly. I am running Windows XP so I had some difficulty finding burning software that was truly compatible. I finally decided to try out Nero6 and am very glad that I did. I would take Nero over Easy CD Creator any day! I would give a higher star rating, but my production of "coasters", while minimal, has not been as low I would like.
Rating: Summary: Great product. Nero shines again. Review: Don't know what to say about this latest version of Nero except that it delivers. It's everything in one- cdr burning, dvdr burning, a great media player in neromix, a great dvd player in nero showtime, and a more than adequate wave file editor. And there's more in this latest version that those features. Unlike version 5, this new version 6 has everything included in this one package. I have Windows XP and it installed fine so the other reviewers must have some isolated problems perhaps. If you've used Nero before the interface is practically the same except for a bit of updating and a more modern, rounded look to it. Other than that, if you used Nero before you'll be burning your next cd a couple minutes after installation.
Rating: Summary: Would not install! Review: I tried repeatedly to get Nero 6 Ultra Edition to install on my WindowsXP system, but each time I got the following error message "An error occurred during the copy process (filename: ). Error: 6 Please reboot and try again." I even tried returning the software to the store I got it from (Fry's) for an exchange, but the replacement did the same thing. Fortunately, they'll give me store credit for what is obviously a defective product For what it's worth, I emailed their tech support department with the problem. I've also read about problems with the software accepting legitimate serial numbers. For now, I would recommend sticking with Nero 5, and not upgrading yet.
Rating: Summary: Best Nero Yet Review: Nero Burning ROM 6 has many improved and added features over the previous 5.0 and 5.5 editions. Nero 6 has a new shiney interface, added hardware support and requires only a small amount of disk space. Nero 6 is todays professional CD recording program of choice and can do almost everything you can think a burning program can. I havent use the new Easy CD Creator yet, but this will most likely beat it. A+.
